Maki was showing the new guy around the school, he was weird, very weird. First of all he seemed like an idiot, he didn't even know what a Panda was!

But behind that idiot was someone strong, his speed and strength was frankly terrifying. His Sharingan eyes alone put him in a class above most.

She shivered slightly, she remembered rumours about the Uchiha, they were usually strong and fast but they never mentioned just how strong or fast.

The last Sharingan user was the infamous Madara Uchiha who was in the history books as a madman focused on destruction.

No one ever defeated him, he just disappeared one day.

She turned back to the slightly younger boy and raised an eyebrow in confusion.

He was running his hands across the grass just outside the classrooms. As if he noticed her stare he raised his head and met her eyes, his eyes were black she noticed. A big contrast to the blazing red she saw in the sparring session.

"The grass is very soft here, out by the Uchiha ruins the grass has been permanently damaged, it's tough and spiky over there." After his words he stood up and made his way back to confused Maki.

"What's up with your cursed energy?" Fukashi asked, Maki looked over quickly. They were both sitting down on a bench just outside the mini armoury the school had.

They just finished the tour when Maki needed to sit down, her back was killing her, that kick hurt!

They were having a slightly awkward silence as they stared out into the nearby woods until Fukashi interrupted it.

"What do you mean?" She asked with some warning in her tone, she didn't like speaking about her heavenly restriction.

She felt her neck twinge in discomfort, it had quickly become a large purple bruise that would last for a while.

Fukashi completely missed the warning and continued on "Well, when we sparred earlier I couldn't see any cursed energy in you." He looked over and met her eyes.

She shivered slightly before she broke eye contact, his eyes were now black as coal, the contrast between a blazing red and a seemingly calm coal was jarring.

She then caught onto what he said "What do you mean you couldn't see any?" She asked curiously.

He ran his hand through his hair before explaining "My Sharingan can see the flow of cursed energy in people, you don't have any" he said bluntly.

Now Maki was curious "What else can your eyes do?"

Fukashi hummed as if contemplating something. "To be totally honest…I'm not completely sure." He said hesitantly.

Makis' eyes widened in surpise but before she could get a word out he continued.

"I can predict things, like when we and Akira fight I can see his moves coming before they are even thrown by the way his muscles twitch and cursed energy moves" he leaned back against the bench.

"But so far, that's kind of it. I'm not allowed to really know about any other Sharingan users or what they did with their eyes." He paused as he stared at the dark blue sky.

Maki thought about it for less than a second to realise why.

Madara Uchiha.

No one wanted another Madara so they must be restricting his knowledge.

Before she could think further about the terrifying man who terrorised the world for dozens of years her thoughts were interrupted when Fukashi turned his head and met her eyes.

He seemed quite confused, hesitant even. "I'm-uh, I'm sorry about" he gulped before nodding towards her bruised throat.

Maki raised an eyebrow urging him to continue "Well, about going a bit overboard" he said as he turned his head and avoided eye contact.

She snorted "Yeah it's fine, good practice for the cursed spirits" she shrugged as she stood up.

"I'm going to get back to the kitchen, you coming?" She asked as she looked back at his seated form.

He shook his head and stood up. "No," he said as he looked around. "I forgot to ask before, but are there any lakes here?" He asked Maki.

She quickly nodded and pointed to his left "Yeah just walk that way for a little bit and you'll find it in less than 5 minutes" she walked off with a slight limp.

Fukashi slowly dawdled towards the shimmering blue lake that seemed to stretch for miles. He sat down not even 2 metres away from the cold water and laid back against the grass that tickled the back of his neck as he stared at the darkening sky.

And that's where Akira found him 2 hours later. In the dark only illuminated by the shine of the moon. Akira landed next to the almost sleeping Uchiha who barely reacted to the presence of his caretaker .

"Boy, I've got…to go for a while" he said hesitantly, his accent was thick and had an emotional tinge to it.

Fukashi shot up like a rocket to his feet, he was staring at the black haired man in slight confusion. "What? Where" Akira had never left before, not for more than 24 hours anyway.

Fukashis mind was racing as he thought of the potential meaning of this! It quickly came to the conclusion that it must be the higher ups!

They were the ones that sent Akira to him, they were the ones who must be taking him away! Fukashi realised quickly that there wasn't much he could really do.

He blinked rapidly and looked out towards the pitch black lake. "You'll…visit" he asked tentatively, he was afraid of the answer.

Akira quickly removed said fear "Of course" his hand patted against the young Uchihas shoulder and for the first time in a while Fukashi leaned into the contact.

Akira slowly pulled the teenager into a hug that the teen almost fell into as he pulled him close.

Fukashi walked back to his new room, his thoughts were focused on Akiras sudden departure.

Were they going to put him on a deadly mission, did they want to kill him and how long was he going to be gone were many of the thoughts racing through his head.

His footsteps were graceful and quiet and he walked fastly past the bustling kitchen filled with faces he didn't recognise nor care to remember.

'The higher ups must be scum' he thought to himself 'They did this' all his thoughts slowly started to build towards hate.

'He was the only person I had and they took him!' He burst through the door to his room and rushed over to his futon only to smack his head against a hard material under it as he tried to lay down.

He blindly threw his hand underneath and unearthed a hidden boon underneath the futon. He read the cover in astonishment.

His eyes were wide as he stared at something he really wasn't allowed to even see nevermind read. The cover was simple but damning.

And it's title was exciting to Fukashi.

'The Sharingan and its many complexities.'

--

It had been a week since Akira had left Fukashi and to say it was an eventful week would be understating. Fukashi had been reading the book about the Sharingan with religious fervour.

The book was written by Mikoto Uchiha who was fascinated by the Sharingan. She was born hundreds of years before Madara so he was never mentioned but two users of sharingan that were frequently mentioned piqued his interest.

Her two sons who both awakened the Sharingan, Itachi and Sasuke Uchiha. Her writing was mainly about them and what they used the Sharingan for.

Itachi had the ability to put anyone, including cursed spirits under illusions of his own making. While his brother Sasuke could also do similar things it wasn't nearly as powerful, he apparently preferred the closer approach.

Sasuke took advantage of the perceptive and predictive abilities of the Sharingan. He would predict the opponent's next move before they had even finished the last one.

Itachi also had the cursed technique amaterasu which set fire to anything with flames as hot as the sun. Whereas Sasuke's technique was similar to his own.

Lightning.

They could both manipulate lightning, it doesn't go to specific into what Sasuke did with his cursed technique but it did mention one interesting thing.

Sasuke's mentor who wasn't named had a similar cursed technique that was deadly when paired with a sharingan.

This technique piqued his interest, according to Mikotos account it could cut through anything and enhanced the users speed greatly while in use.

The Chidori.

Nothing else was really mentioned about the technique except one would need the sharingan on to avoid the tunnel vision the technique creates. They would also need to create a ball of lightning in their hand and according to Mikoto it would sound as if 1000 birds were chirping at once.

He would have to reverse engineer the technique. Fukashi grinned as he quickly stood to his feet and made his way to the training grounds.

He came to the sight of Panda and Toge sparring with Maki and someone he didn't recognise on the sidelines.

He quickly made his way over to her, she noticed his purposely loud footsteps and turned her head. She seemed surprised at the small grin on his face and gestured with her hand for him to come over.

"Hey" she said to the person next to her, he was tall and had black spiky hair. "This is Fukashi," she said to the guy with black hair who nodded before speaking.

"I'm Megumi Fushiguro" he said with a bored tone as he met eyes with the Uchiha. Fukashi nodded and turned to the sparring Panda and Inumaki.

Inumaki was quick and quite agile as he danced his way through Pandas fast and strong punches. Fukashi winced slightly as Inumaki was clipped by one of Pandas punches and was sent spinning into the ground.

He didn't have the time to watch them spar though, so he said bye to Maki and Fushiguro and walked off.

Fukashi walked away in thought, he walked further into the grassy training grounds and past some trees until he came into a small clearing.

Before this he had always been able to use lightning sure but never to the extent of the Chidori. At most he could enhance his hits so that his opponent would get a shock but he had never really even thought of going beyond that.

So he started simply, he decided he would have to work his way up to a technique the likes of Chidori. So he built up electricity into his hand. The white lightning was crackling and buzzing in his hand.

This is what happens when he just enhances his hits, he needs to pierce. So he imagined sharpening his cursed energy and heard the crackling turn higher pitch.

He opened his eyes and stared at the lightning circling his hand. There wasn't really a difference, the lightning looked more spiky but that was it.

He concentrated and imagined the lightning becoming sharper and sharpening it again and again. Once it felt sharp enough he opened his eyes and turned, and in that one movement he punched the thick tree directly behind him.

A large bang was all he could hear as bits of wood flew into his face, his eyes widened in shock as his hand hadn't even gone more than 3 inches into the tree.

The Chidori was meant to slice through metal like butter, he did it wrong.

He grunted in frustration before trying again.

That's how Maki found the teenager, in a previously nice clearing surrounded by chips of wood and lightning sparking around his fist.

"Hey!" She shouted from the other side of the clearing. He turned quickly, the lightning disappeared quickly. "Principal Yaga says we got a mission," she said to Fukashi.

His eyes lit up, this will be his first mission. Quickly he bounded over to the green haired girl and started to make his way back.

She rolled her eyes as they both made their way back to the school. "So your cursed technique is lightning?" She asked the excited Uchiha.

He nodded in response "Yep, I'm trying to get it to pierce" he turned to face her and started to walk backwards. "Got any ideas?"

Sge thought for a moment before responding "Doesn't lightning already pierce?" Well she wasn't an expert or anything but lightning piercing makes sense.

He sighed "I thought so too, but I don't just create lightning bolts, I mean…" he sighed again "I don't know" he turned back around and started walking the normal way.

Maki decided to change the subject "How's the book?" She asked, she wondered if he would have even found it under his futon.

His eyes widened and his body tensed. "You know about the book?" He asked, if anyone knew about that he could get into some trouble surely! There was a reason he wasn't allowed it in the first place.

Maki looked at the boy like he was stupid "Are you stupid?" She asked just to be sure. In response he activated his Sharingan and narrowed his eyes into slits, she shivered, she felt a primal fear staring into those accursed eyes.

She half jokingly and half seriously put her hands up in a mocking surrender before speaking with a nervous tone "I gave you the book idiot" she almost sighed in relief as the red eyes turned back into black.

His previously scary presence turned back into a stupid one, the look on his face spoke it all. "You gave me the book?" He asked.

"What, you thought the book was just there for no reason?" She asked incredulously.

When there was no response her eyes widened slighlty "You.." she had to cough to try and hide her snickers "You thought, that-that it was just left there?"

She couldn't hold back the laughter anymore when she saw the way he looked away and crossed his arms petulantly.

The last Uchiha and second years made their way to a large dark factory, they were made aware of a second grade cursed spirit lurking around the factory.

The mission was simple: exorcise the spirit.

Apparently it was a simple mission according to Maki, she said this was just a tester for him. To see where he lays power wise.

They made their way to the creaky factory, it was dark. Unnaturally so. He felt the hairs on the back of his rise and he stared at the creamy metal stairs, they were only a couple metres ahead of him and he couldn't even see the third step.

Quickly a searing ball of energy was sent past him and straight into Maki, she was sent flying through the closed metal doors behinds them with a loud crash.

Fukashi activated his Sharingan with practised ease, he quickly kicked Inumaki to the right so he was just missed by another blast of dark searing cursed energy.

Panda shouted over the large creaks of metal and smashing of glass "Everyone outside!" Fukashi followed the order quickly.

He simply dropped backwards out of the still wide open doors, thanks to Maki. He saw Inumaki and Panda both jump out after him.

He turned to see Maki just making her way to her feet. Her uniform was burnt, he could see her stomach, the skin was blackened and steaming.

He noticed her grimace as she stepped forward beside him. "You good?" He asked, she simply nodded in reply and pulled a large red spear out of somewhere?

He quickly noticed the darkness of the factory had seemingly followed them out of the factory. They could barely see 5 meters in front of them, Fukashi could see something in front of them however.

It was humanoid but that's all he noticed as before he could think a blast of the searing dark energy hit him from behind.

He was sent flying forward and rolled across the concrete floor, he scraped his face on the rocky floor.

"Fukashi move!" Was shouted from behind him and before he could react he heard another voice.

"Fly" Fukashis body was sent flying almost 20 metres high, when he reached the peak he saw the edge of the darkness and saw the moon.

While he was in the air he heard another league explosion and felt small rocks fly past him at extreme speeds.

Panda caught him before he hit the floor. "What was that" Fukashi asked, Panda only pointed towards the panting Inumaki who nodded.

Fukashi looked back to the spot he was previously laid on and only saw a burning crater! Whatever Inumaki did saved him from that.

He gulped slightly before turning to Panda "This is what all second grades are?" He asked nervously.

Maki responded quickly "No" she took another look around "This is definitely a first grade, the higher ups really screwed us here!" She exclaimed as she moved to dodge another blast of energy.

Fukashi was relieved by that but still worried, he got back to his feet. His black uniform was torn at the back and was already scraped up. He was constantly looking around in circles, he wouldn't be taken by surprise again.

He sidestepped multiple of the blasts of energy that came flying towards him with ease, he was looking for that figure he saw earlier in the fight.

He heard Panda and Maki speaking behind him but he blocked them out as he concentrated on his visual prowess. He did however notice Inumaki speak "Clear!" He shouted and the darkness surrounding them suddenly disappeared revealing the form of the cursed spirit.

It was grey and humanoid, it had no eyes or ears it's teeth were sharp and rotten as it clapped its large hands. It looked skinny and had no legs, it instead had a tail and was floating eerily.

The clapping from the creature was quick and delighted and before they could get more information the darkness suddenly surrounded them once again.
