The Silver Falcon

October 27th, 1995

It has been a whole month since the situation with Demona using Titania's Mirror and Puck and things have been great for Liam and Griff. Beyond great, in fact.

Not only does Liam get to be more involved than before when out with the Manhattan Clan, but Griff can be able to see and feel the sun, which he still is getting used to. And the pair have been able to go on walks through Central Park, go to the movies like everyone else, go shopping and go to restaurants, diners and elsewhere. And they are able to sleep with each other in bed, which was something Griff loved. And their activities in bed were more intoxicating.

And it turned out that Puck had left one last gift for them; I.D. for Griff as a human, giving him the name of Griff Evans and the birthday of March 2nd 1973, making him be twenty two, the same age as Liam, as Griff did look that age as a human.

Griff ended up having quite the fashion sense. He had a preference for leather jackets, short sleeve shirts to show off his muscular form and aviator sunglasses.

Of course, being able to be human at will, Griff was able to do things on his own.

This was the case for the next several days, wanting to try being on his own without Liam by his side. Liam decided to try it out as well and did it by hanging out with some of the other gargoyles.

He did it yesterday with Brooklyn, Lexington and Goliath.

And today, he was doing it with Broadway. And the pair were at Elisa's apartment, watching a 1930's detective movie, a genre that Broadway turned out to be a fan of. Of course, they were also there to pick up the Halloween costumes for the trio as that very holiday was around the corner.

"And when someone messes with your partner, you're supposed to do something about it." Broadway quoted the detective as he shoved a handful of popcorn in his mouth. Liam grinned as he ate some popcorn of his own. He could always have a good time with Broadway. He was just so likeable.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Elisa was talking to Captain Chavez on the phone about Matt, who's been missing for a few days now.

"Well, you know Matt. Maybe he took personal time to look for Bigfoot or something." She told Chavez as she poured a couple of glasses of lemonade. A couple seconds later, she replied to whatever her captain told her. "Why don't I stop by his place, Captain, see what I can turn up."

She then pulled out a black box, opened it with a key and pulled out her gun and holster.

"Sure, Captain, whatever." Elisa then said before she hung up.

Of course, Liam and Broadway overheard her and decided to talk to her about it.

"Matt's still missing, huh?" Liam asked.

"The way you two were glued to the TV, I'm surprised you could hear me." Elisa said as she walked past.

"Ears like mine don't miss much." Broadway pointed out.

"And ever since I can turn into a gargoyle, my hearing's been increased." Liam added as Elisa put on her holster and red jacket.

"Sorry I have to run out, you two. If you want company, you could always watch your tape back at the clocktower." Elisa told them.

"Nah, Brooklyn and Lexington got dibs on the VCR tonight." Broadway replied.

"You know, Elisa, we may not be cops, but we can help you figure out what happened to Matt." Liam pointed.

"Yeah, we can be your partners in this case." Broadway added, eager at the idea of being like the detective in the movie they just watched.

"I already have one partner to worry about tonight. I don't need three. Go back to your movie." Elisa chuckled before she left her apartment and locked the door.

"I don't know about you, but if this turns out to be bigger than she expects, she'll need help, whether she wants it or not." Liam told Broadway, who grinned, knowing that they're going to help her.

At an apartment building elsewhere in Manhattan, a masked man was ransacking Matt's apartment up and down, looking for something.

However, he was totally unaware of the two winged figures standing outside on the balcony, watching him through the glass. One of them wore a trench coat and a hat, just like a detective.

The masked man was ripping through the sofa when there was knocking on the door.

"Matt, you home?" Elisa' voice came from the other side of the door. "Matt, it's me, Elisa."

Upon getting no answers, she reached up to the doorframe and grabbed the spare key always kept up there.

The masked man pulled out a gun from his jacket as he walked to the door, which concerned the two figures on the balcony to the point that they ripped the glass door from its hinges and barged in, roaring with their eyes glowing white, revealing themselves as Broadway and Liam.

Elisa heard the commotion and pulled her gun out before kicking the door open to see Broadway lifting the man up above his head while Liam crushed his gun with his bare hand.

Broadway then threw the man, making Elisa duck as the man got thrown out into the hallway.

He then got up and ran, though Liam was chasing after him.

"We got you covered, partner." Broadway told Elisa as he joined Liam, leaving her exasperated for a moment before she joined the chase.

The man ran to the elevator as the two gargoyles continued after him. He pressed a button, which opened the elevator and he got in, pressing a button to get out of the building.

The two gargoyles reached him as the elevator doors closed.

Liam ripped them open and grabbed the cables, pulling the elevator back up before he ripped a panel from the top open and growled at the man. Broadway jumped in and threw him back out into the hallway just as Elisa showed up.

"You mind explaining what you two are doing here." Elisa demanded from them as she put her gun away.

"What do you think, helping you in case this whole thing is much bigger than you expect." Liam replied, crossing his arms.

"I don't want to get into it out here. Bring him and follow me." Elisa said, walking back to Matt's apartment.

Liam and Broadway carried the currently unconscious man back to the apartment and placed him on the sofa. Elisa then pulled the mask off and didn't recognise him.

"Nobody I know. But I'll lay odds he's a pro." He told Liam and Broadway, who looked around the apartment.

"Made a real mess of things, looking for whatever it is he's after." Liam noted.

"Just what is he looking for?" Broadway said.

Elisa reached into the man's jacket and found a torn date of October 27th, which was today.

"This might be something." She said, seeing that there's writing on it. "The writing's definitely Matt's." She then went over to the desk calendar, seeing that it came from there. "And it's off his calendar."

"Maybe there's something on his computer." Liam suggested.

"Yeah, let's find out." Broadway said, turning it on as the man woke up gasping, having heard them.

"Don't!" The man warned them, but it was too late.

The computer made sounds that weren't normal.

"A booby trap!" Liam shouted, realising right away what it was.

He grabbed the man while Broadway grabbed Elisa and the two jumped out through the balcony in time before the bomb went off, destroying the apartment.

They landed on a nearby rooftop and rolled, letting go of the man and Elisa.

Broadway actually rolled to the edge, clinging on with his hands, Liam and Elisa helping him up.

However, they then noticed that the man got away through the stairs that led to the rooftop.

"Ugh, we lost him." Elisa groaned.

"Can't win 'em all." Broadway said as he brushed his now torn Halloween costume. "Where do we go from here?"

"We don't go anywhere. You two are calling it a night and I'm keeping an appointment." Elisa coolly told them off as she holstered her gun and walked to the stairs. "Under today's date, Matt wrote 'Hacker, 10:00 pm. Cleopatra's Needle.' I got just enough time to make it."

"Cleopatra's Needle, huh?" Liam said as Broadway grabbed his hat.

"Goodnight, you two. Glide home safely." Elisa said before going down the stairs.

"Elisa, I'm sorry about the bomb. But it proves how dangerous this case is." Broadway said as he and Liam went after her.

"Too dangerous for an amateur detective playing out a movie fantasy and a civilian, even if they have hand to hand combat skills. I'm alone on this one." Elisa replied.

Both Liam and Broadway jumped to land in front of her.

"Look at Matt. He was a professional and yet he's now missing, working alone. And we're doing this, knowing what the risks are. Just let us help, Elisa." Liam explained, making Elisa contemplate her choices.

Later, at Cleopatra's Needle, arrived at the time on the torn date and looked around for this Hacker.

"Detective Maza, right?" A man asked, approaching her. "Matt Bluestone's partner. I'm Martin Hacker."

He took his hat off and shook hands with her.

"Matt showed me your picture. Said you're the best partner he's ever had." He said, putting his hat back on. "Guess that makes me runner up."

"Excuse me?" Elisa asked, surprised to hear this.

"He never told you he used to be FBI?" Matt asked.

"He neglected to mention it." Elisa pointed out. "And now he's disappeared."

"What?" Hacker said, shocked to hear of what happened to his former partner.

"Do you know what he was working on?" Elisa asked him.

"Well, he called me last week with a new lead on the Illuminati Society. Well, according to Matt, that's a secret organisation that's so powerful, it's supposed to be running the world." Matt explained.

"Yeah, Matt's mentioned the Illuminati. I know he's determined to prove their existence." Elisa replied, she and Hacker unaware that they were being watched from nearby.

"What do you think got him booted from the Bureau? The higher ups thought he was a bit, uh, obsessive. But for old times' sake, I agreed to have this letter authenticated." Hacker then explained, pulling out an old letter encased in plastic and he pulled it out, handing it to Elisa. "It dates back to the twenties and a gangster named Mace Malone who mysteriously vanished in 1924. Matt believed that Mace had ties to the Illuminati."

Elisa opened the letter and read it aloud.

"DD, our little society has racked up quite a nest egg. Every day I see the Silver Falcon, I have to smile. Stay in touch, partner."

"The ink and the paper date correctly. Signature checks, too. The letter's legit. It's from Mace." Hacker explained.

"But how did Matt find it? Who was DD? And what on earth was the Silver Falcon?" Elisa asked questions as she was baffled by some of these vague clues.

"Good questions. Wish I had answers." Hacker replied with his arms crossed, just as clueless.

"3150 Third Avenue." She then read aloud. "A seventy year old address. Not much to go on."

"If you want some help, I can -"

"I can handle it, Hacker, but thanks." Elisa cut him off, putting the letter in her jacket.

Hacker accepted this, tipped his hat and left Elisa, who zipped up her jacket.

That was when the man from earlier appeared with two others, having overheard her. He cocked his gun and stepped forward with a grin.

"Payback time." He told her.

"Now, guys!" Elisa called up to the top of the obelisk.

"Who's she talking to?" One of the crooks asked right as Liam and Broadway jumped down and landed in front of them.

"She was talking to us." Broadway growled as his and Liam's eyes were glowing white.

"You again! Plug them!" The man told his fellow crooks before they started firing, though both Liam and Broadway tackled them to the ground, allowing the one remaining to run off, though Elisa pulled her gun out and aimed it at him.

"Stop or I'll shoot!" She told him, making him stop, drop his gun and turn around with his hands up.

"Go ahead, boys. Knock yourselves out." Broadway said as he and Liam knocked the two thugs out by bonking their heads together and then they threw them to the ground.

Suddenly a car showed up and drove right at the man, who got in.

Elisa took some shots at the car, which was heading right for Liam and Broadway.

"Guys, look out!" She shouted.

Liam jumped out of the way while Broadway jumped up with his wings ripping through his coat to give him air time.

"New York drivers." Broadway muttered as they watched the car drive off.

Elisa cuffed the two thugs to a sewage grating.

"How are we so far?" Liam asked her.

"Not so good. If our escaping friend overheard enough, the Illuminati may be hitting Mace Malone's old office next. We have to get there fast and first." She told them.

"Then let's go." Liam nodded.

Liam turned back to his human form as he and Elisa arrived at the address on the letter, knocking on the door that had 'GF. BENTON C.P.A' on it.

An old man opened the door and looked at the pair through his glasses, which he adjusted.

"Oh, well, come back tomorrow, you two. Business hours are between -"

"Police." Elisa showed him her badge. "May we come in, sir?"

The old man, Benton, let them in. Liam walked over to the window, where he saw Broadway landing on a falcon on the Apex Tower, which was opposite to the building they were in. Already, his mind was working things out.

"This may be a long shot, Mr. Benton, but do you know of the history your office has?" He asked.

"Yes, yes, a rather scandalous history, wouldn't you agree?" Benton asked, making Liam and Elisa raise their eyebrows. "That's why I rented this space. I'm something of a Mace Malone buff. All these years later, and the curious still flock to see 45D. Why just the other day, a red headed whipper snapper came by here -"

"Bluestone? Matt Bluestone?" Elisa asked, hoping it was her partner.

"That's the one." Benton said as he stood in front of a photograph that he grabbed, which made Liam and Elisa walk over to look at it. "Odd feller. The moment he caught a glimpse of this, he ran outta here lickety split."

He handed Liam the photograph and both he and Elisa looked at it. Seeing who had to be Mace Malone on the left and DD to the right, as those initials were on the jacket.

"That's Mace." Benton said. "I can't identify the sharp looking young feller there, but your friend Bluestone seemed particularly interested in him."

Liam glanced up at Benton and then at DD in the photograph, seeing a similarity, like they were the same person, but he decided not to comment on it for now.

"DD!" Elisa gasped, noticing the initials on the jacket.

"Do you know where this picture was taken?" Liam asked Benton.

"That was the Silver Falcon Nightclub, Mace's pride and joy. It stood on First Avenue and 8th. Been torn down for ages now." Benton said as Liam put the photograph down and Elisa ran to get Benton's coat, which she put on him. "Woman, what are you doing?"

"No time to explain, sir. But 45D just isn't safe tonight." Elisa replied as she and Liam escorted the older man out, Elisa handing a phone number to him. "When you call that number, you'll get a Captain Chavez. Fill her in on what you told us. Let her know there are two thugs cuffed to a grate by Cleopatra's tell her I said send backup to First and 8th!"

The two ran to make their way out of the building.

They met up with Broadway and arrived at the address as it was raining with lightning flashing in the sky. All they found there was a warehouse.

"First and 8th." Broadway said as he let Elisa on the ground and Liam turned back into human form. "You sure this is the place?"

"Only one way to find out?" Elisa said before they walked up to the front doors, which were chained up, though Broadway crushed the lock with ease.

They entered the warehouse and looked around until they spotted a light coming from the cellar. They then heard buzzing coming from there.

The three silently made their way to the cellar and walked down the steps.

"You'll rest when I tell you to rest. Not before." A voice said from nearby. They looked to see it was Glasses, who was ordering a couple of men, who were using particle beam weapons to drill into the wall.

"I know that guy from somewhere." Broadway said.

"He's called Glasses and he's Anthony Dracon's right hand man." Elisa explained.

"Dracon?" Broadway gasped. "Oh, I hate that guy." His eyes now glowed white with anger.

"You're not the only one. I'm glad Griff ain't here, he'd be fuming." Liam replied.

"But what does he have to do with the Illuminati?" Elisa questioned before she looked over and saw Matt strapped to a chair and blindfolded. "There's Matt."

However, Glasses started noticing their presence and ordered the men to stop.

"Our overdue guests have finally arrived." He said before he pressed a remote that triggered an explosion on the cellar door frame, burying the three in rubble.

"So much for the calvary, Bluestone. That was your partner we just buried. And even Mr. Gardner." Glasses taunted, making Matt gasp.

However, underneath the rubble, Broadway was able to hold up enough debris to save him, Liam and Elisa, his glowing white eyes providing light.

"You alright?" Elisa asked Broadway.

"I've had better nights." He replied, straining against the debris he's holding up.

"I've got a pocket flashlight." Elisa said as she and Liam coughed.

"We don't have much air in here." Liam pointed out as Elisa pulled out her flashlight. "And I don't want to show that I can turn into a gargoyle in front of Glasses and Matt."

Suddenly, Broadway's eyes were fading and once it was pitch black, stone crackling was heard before Elisa turned her flashlight on to find that he had turned into stone, meaning it was now dawn.

"Great." Liam muttered.

"You did your best, Broadway. Now it's our turn." Elisa said before they started digging their way out.

With Matt, he was now held up by Glasses and his two men.

"Dracon tells you to 86 Mace Malone's letter, so you bury Maza and Gardner alive?" He said, finding that to be poor logic. "Ha! Smart, Glasses. Real smart."

"No one will ever read it in there." Glasses pointed out as Matt's blindfold was taken off.

"Thing is, you don't know for sure they had it on them. What happens when you tell Tony it's a done deal and the letter shows up somewhere else?" Matt asked, getting on Glasses' nerves, though he couldn't argue against Matt's logic, as he didn't want to get in trouble with his boss.

With Liam and Elisa, they continued digging their way out, now moving the larger pieces of debris when light started forming above them, meaning someone was trying to reach them.

"Must be our lucky day." She muttered before looking at Broadway's statue. "But it won't be yours, not if they find you."

"Sorry, bud." Liam said before he kicked a beam that supported the cavity between them and Broadway, causing rubble to fall and hide Broadway.

The two then climbed out before they were lifted up by Glasses' men.

"No sign of the big guy in the trench coat. He must be in deep." One of them informed Glasses/

"Forget him." He replied as he first searched Liam and found nothing. But when he searched Elisa, he pulled her gun out, handed it to one of his men and then the letter, which he ripped. "I got what I wanted.

"Smug bastard." Liam muttered, earning a glare from Glasses.

"You alright?" Matt asked his partner and Liam.

"I've had better nights." Elisa replied as Liam shrugged.

"Hi, gang." Dracon's voice said, making them look to see him and an entourage arrive through an elevator. And he now had a white streak in his hair. "Glasses, don't just stand there. Grab yourself a drill and dig in."

"Uh, sure, boss. Sure." Glasses replied, taken aback before he joined his men and helped drill through the wall.

"First Bluestone, then Maza. And Gardner, as well. It's like a cop and archaeologist convention." Dracon remarked.

"Digging under the Silver Falcon must cost a bundle, Tony. You sure you still come out ahead?" Matt chuckled.

"Twenty times over." Tony replied, walking right up to him. "The uncut stones Mace Malone and my grandfather stole are worth millions." He then walked over to the thug that escaped last night at Cleopatra's Needle. "Once we're finished, remind me to bury them together."

"So DD is his grandfather, huh?" Liam asked, now realising that Benton was actually Dracon's grandfather, no doubt trying to find these stones for himself.

"Yeah. Dominic Dracon. Seems he and Mace were partners in a jewel heist. Mace disappeared without splitting the take." Matt explained.

"Gangsters squabbling over loot? Not exactly Illuminati material." Elisa pointed out.

"Tell me about it. I found the letter months ago when a search warrant turned it up in Dracon's files. I jumped to the wrong conclusions about the Illuminati. And worse… I didn't bring you in on it. I'm sorry, partner. And for bringing Liam into this." Matt told Elisa.

"It happens sometimes." Elisa shrugged, accepting his apology.

It then seemed that Glasses and his men broke through and came across a vault.

"Now, that's what I call paydirt. Don't stop now, boys. Make my night complete." Dracon said with eagerness edging his voice.

Glasses shot his particle beam weapon at the vault door, making it fall off its hinges.

Inside, as the smoke cleared away, was nothing but a note.

Dracon picked it up and opened it.

"Right idea, wrong falcon. Better luck next time, partner. Love, Mace." He read aloud before he crumpled it and threw it away as he shouted in anger.

"Jeez, Tony, no need to get mad when you can still get even." Liam chuckled, knowing full well what falcon the note was talking about. "I happen to know where Malone stashed the jewels."

"Gardner, don't play with me." Dracon warned him.

"I'm not playing when I'm starting a negotiation." Liam replied as he bravely walked up to him. "If you want those stones so bad, you'll have to let me and Detectives Bluestone and Maza go free."

"Okay, Gardner, we have a deal." Dracon said, holding his hand out. "My word as a Dracon."

"Alright." Liam said as they shook hands.

"After you, sport." Dracon said and he and everyone else made their way to the elevator. "Where are we going?"

"Be patient, buddy. I'll take you there, but it'll be too public for broad daylight, if you know what I mean." Liam said right before they made their way up. "We'll have to wait for dark."

Once it was night, Broadway woke up and dug his way out, coughing as he did so.

"Elisa? Liam?" He said, looking around to see that there was no one there. "Oh, no."

He then noticed the crumpled note and read it aloud, though struggling as he was still learning how to read.

"Hmm. Wrong falcon. Hmm." He said, thinking what it meant before he walked over to the vault and saw his reflection, seeing just how damaged his trench coat was and how dirty he was as well, which made him wipe his face.

Elsewhere, Liam, Matt and Elisa were on a helicopter with Dracon and his men, approaching the Apex Tower.

"He blew up my apartment?" Matt asked when told about what happened. "Liam, you know as soon as you show him the jewels, our lives aren't worth beans."

"Don't worry about that, I called for backup. I hope." Elisa told him.

"Okay, move it, sport." Dracon then said to Liam and the two jumped onto the building.

"No more sweet talk, Gardner. It's do or die time." Dracon reminded him, showing his gun to him.

"Look behind you, Tony. Notice something?" Liam pointed behind Dracon, making him turn to see the building opposite.

"Malone's old office. What about it?" He asked.

"It was one hell of a view for Mace." Liam said as he climbed onto the falcon he saw last night. "Me and Maza checked it out ourselves. I noticed this dingy skyscraper and a few gargoyles." He crawled to the falcon's head. "But if you wipe away seventy years worth of soot, you'll see the very falcon that made Mace smile."

He then used his hoodie sleeve to wipe at the falcon's eye and revealed that it was made of silver.

"A falcon." Dracon said in realisation. "A silver falcon."

"Know what?" Glasses said in the helicopter. "I think this kid's gonna deliver."

"He's very smart." Elisa replied.

Liam reached into the falcon's beak and pulled out an old satchel.

"Gardner… you are one of a kind." Dracon said, very impressed.

Liam decided to open it and look inside, finding something he didn't expect, though he didn't show it.

"Just like these stones, Dracon." He said before he closed the satchel back up.

"We had a deal. Once I have the gems, I'll let you and your friends go. Trust me." Dracon said, holding his hand out.

"Really? Trust a gangster that would double cross anyone in his path?" Liam raised an eyebrow.

"Look down, buddy. You see any other options here?" Dracon said.

Liam looked down and spotted Broadway a few floors down and out of sight from Dracon and his men.

"Actually, I do." Liam grinned before he jumped off.

"No!" Dracon shouted.

"That wacko kid took a dive!" Glasses said in shock, though Elisa didn't seem bothered as she suspected why he jumped.

He lowered the helicopter for Dracon to get on.

"Go! Go! Get down there fast!" Dracon ordered. "Maybe we can scoop up some gems off the street."

As the helicopter lowered to the street, Liam and Broadway stood by a window and watched.

"We did it, Liam. I figured out where the falcon was." Broadway said.

"Look at you, becoming more and more like a detective every day." Liam grinned, patting Broadway's cheek. "Now you need to give Elisa and Matt a hand." He pointed at the helicopter. "Go, I'll be alright."

Broadway then took off after the helicopter climbed his way up, still in human form, knowing that Dominic will show up.

Broadway punched and broke the helicopter's hydraulics and clung onto it as it went out of control.

"We're losing our hydraulics!" Glasses informed Dracon.

"Must be something you can do!" Dracon replied.

"Land in one piece, if we're lucky." Glasses replied back.

The helicopter roughly landed in one piece, knocking out Glasses while Dracon ran for it.

"Boss, wait!" The thug shouted as he pulled his gun out. "What about - ow!" Matt elbowed him and Elisa grabbed his gun, pointing it at him.

"That's for my apartment, jerk." Matt coolly told him.

Dracon ran through the park they landed in and into the streets and then an alleyway.

What he didn't notice was that Broadway was high up in the fire escape and decided to reenact the detective movie he and Liam watched last night.

Once Dracon was close enough, Broadway swung down on the fire escape ladder and hit Dracon, who landed right into a puddle.

"You made one mistake, Dracon." Broadway said as he stood above him. "You messed with my partners."

"Not you guys again!" Dracon groaned, remembering the last time he encountered Broadway before he was picked up by him.

"When someone messes with your partners, you're supposed to do something about it." Broadway said, flicking Dracon's face before letting him stand on his feet and then fall. "Case closed." He ripped the remnants of the trench coat off and threw them in a nearby dumpster before walking away.

Liam reached the top of the Apex Tower where Dominic showed up, holding him out, threatening to make him drop.

"You have indomitable spirit, young man. I always admire that in my opponents."

"Hi, Dominic. I knew you'd show up here." Liam frowned at him coolly.

"I'm impressed. How long have you known?" Dominic asked.

"I suspected when I looked at the photo of you and Mace. Then hearing your name confirmed it. And you informed your grandson of our arrival, no doubt." Liam explained.

"My humble apologies. It's just that I've been waiting so long to get these jewels. I tore Mace's nightclub down to find them. It was Tony's idea to look under the foundation, for all the good that did. But let's make a fresh start, shall we? Hand over the satchel and no harm will come to you."

"Your word as a Dracon, huh?" Liam raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, right." He then threw the satchel at the falcon's head.

"No!" Dominic cried out before he jumped over the railing and jumped onto the falcon, which hurt, due to his age and crawled to the satchel.

He opened it as Liam jumped onto the falcon and walked up behind him.

Dominic groaned as he reached in and found something other than jewels.

"What's this?" He said as he pulled out a handful of nothing but marbles. "Marbles?" He then found a letter and read it. "I feel sorry for you, DD. You still haven't learned crime doesn't pay. Your old partner, Mace." He crumpled the letter in outrage. "MACE? NO!"

"Come on, Dominic. Let's get you out of the cold." Liam said as he helped the man up and led him off the falcon.

At dawn, there were police and news reporters as both Dracons and their men were led into a police van.

"You'd make a good cop, Liam." Matt said, very impressed with him after explaining about Dominic. "You managed to pull it off."

"We pulled it off." Liam corrected him as he and Elisa stayed behind while Matt went ahead. The pair looked up at a certain gargoyle statue.

"Partners." Elisa grinned.

After he was allowed to leave, Liam went to his penthouse and upon arriving, he found Griff waiting for him in his human form.

"There you are, I've been trying to contact you for hours." He said, kissing him before giving him a hug. "Where have you been?"

"Let's cook breakfast first and then I'll tell you." Liam grinned.

At first, I considered not adapting this chapter, but I realised that it would be nice if Liam had a chapter to himself and not be with Griff for almost all of it. Plus, it would give him time to be with other characters, mainly Broadway and Elisa.
