Chapter 9: Runefaust:
Max's POV:
We were going to take the battle to Darksol and to do that, we had to go to Runefaust.
"Maybe we should try this Chaos Breaker thing," says Tao.
"And how do we combine the swords," asks Luke.
"Good point," says Tao.
"There's the gate," says Hans, "but how do we get in?"
"Who goes there?"
"We are the Shining Force," I said, "and we request an audience with your King!"
"I see... NO!"
"Great," says Luke.
"Psss!"
"Did you say something, Lyle," asks Mae.
"No, I thought you did," says Lyle.
We looked and it was the Princess of Runefast. "Come with me," she says. We then followed her.
. . .
"You must be Princess Narsha," I said, "Princess Anri told us about you."
"And how is my beloved," asks Narsha, "the thought of never seeing her again makes me weep every day and night!"
"Clingy alert," says Luke.
Tao elbows him.
"She is fine," I said, "it's just that... her father is dead!"
"What," asks Narsha, "no! These are dark times indeed. Darksol has my Father under his control!"
"That explains it," says Hans.
"He's right," says Gong, "that's why Runefaust has been attacking, because Darksol has the King!"
"Maybe we can try to free your King," I said.
"That would make me very happy indeed," says Narsha.
. . .
We were sneaking around. "So, are you a mage too," asks Tao.
"No, I'm a shaman," says Narsha, "we must be careful, who knows what monsters my Father might have prepared for us!"
"You're right," says Mishaela, as she appears, "in fact, why don't you see him yourself?"
We then fell through a trap door.
. . .
Now we're all in this room where we're facing King Ramladu and his hordes of monsters. "I'm very disappointed in you, Narsha, but I'm afraid you must die as well!"
"I guess we have to do this," I said.
We then fought through Ramladu's forces. I then took on Ramladu and Narsha helped. "I shall destroy you both," says Ramladu.
"You have to fight it," I said.
"Father, please," says Narsha.
Ramladu then knocked her down, but then hesitated, allowing me to strike at him, freeing him from Darksol's control...
. . .
"I thank you, Shining Force," says King Ramladu, "and as thanks, Max, I can tell you how to unite your swords. You must use them both to defeat the one who disassembled them, Mishaela!"
