2. Returning Foes

Shocked and surprised, the McDuck family and their friends couldn't believe Magica De Spell crashing in on their family anniversary. Magica continues to laugh evilly with Scrooge's number one dime in her hands.

"You wretched witch!" Scrooge scolded in anger. "Do ya have ta interrupt and keep taking advantage, ruining moments like this!?"

Magica heard and said, "Ooo… Am I interrupting something?"

"Duh!" Dewey shouts back, "Our annual anniversary!"

"A family anniversary," Huey spoke.

"A McDuck family anniversary," Louie specified.

"A McDuck family anniversary?" Magica said with a bizarre tone. "Why was I not invited? I am one of Scrooge's enemies. Doesn't that count?"

"No evil sorceresses allowed!"

"Give me back me dime, De Spell!" Scrooge demanded in anger.

"Ooh, no can do, McDuck," Magica mocked. "We already completed our transaction with my powder cake surprise. And let's also say this was rain check when you defeated me back then, and my powers vanished."

Scrooge becomes irritated and furious by De Spell's insults. His family also did not like Magica's mockery.

May and June watched in fear as the two held the millennium star. Mrs. Beakley noticed and slightly tilted her head toward the two duck girls. "May, June," Mrs. Beakley speaks quietly to them, "take the star and run. Don't let De Spell see it." May and June heard Mrs. Beakley. The two hid with the star to safety.

Scrooge pulls out his cane and gets into his fighting stance. "If ye won't give me dime back, then it's gonna be force."

Magica makes an evil grin and says, "You think you can take me down again, McDuck?"

Scrooge grins and replies, "Not just me, but with my family, of course." As proof of McDuck's point, every family member and their friends got together and positioned into their fighting stances. "You're outnumbered, De Spell. You cannae defeat me if you don't have a family at your side."

Magica haughtily replies, "Who needs a family when I can use your own family against you."

Magica then activates her staff and summons the family members' shadows to the witch's side. The shadows turned into the doppelganger forms of the McDuck family and their friends. The black goons make a devilish look on their faces, ready to attack.

The McDuck family and their friends turned wary.

"Great!" Dewey said in grief, "Round two of our shadow clones."

"En garde!" De Spell yelled.

Immediately, a brawl started. Neither the Mcduck family nor De Spell and her shadowy cohorts are backing down.

Being athletic and daring, Dewey sidesteps to avoid his shadow clone's attacks and then slips between its legs. Dewey then lands a hard kick and shoves the shadow toward the wall. "Nailed it!" Dewey shouts in confidence.

Fenton and Gandra both fight together with the shadows. Fenton calls out, "Blatherin' Blatherskite!" His Gizmo suite armor appeared, combining him into Gizmoduck. Gizmoduck uses a flashlight widget to shine on the shadows to disappear. And Gandra shoots electrical lightning bolts at the shadowy clones.

"We make one great duo, 'ey my android sidekick," Gizmoduck tells his girlfriend.

"You know it, my hunky robotic hero," Gandra replies.

"Eww…" Louie said in disgust as he witnessed the lovebirds from the side.

Lena and Violet are fighting together against the shadows. Lena is in her magic form, and Violet wields a transparent sword created by Lena.

"I can't believe my ex-aunt had to barge in and ruin our anniversary," Lena said in irk and destroying the shadows. "And I still can't believe I was part of her family."

Violet slashes a shadow, then replies to Lena, "Aw, who needs that vile and disgusting hag when you got the best family right now."

"Point taken. Thanks."

Violet and Lena continue fighting the shadows.

Launchpad and Gosalyn are fighting together, but the shadows surround them. When things look dicey for the two, a smoke bomb is triggered, blinding the shadows. Launchpad and Gosalyn became curious about who threw the smoke bomb until…

"I am the terror that flaps in the night.

I am the rouge that brings these black goons despair."

Launchpad and Gosalyn heard and turned to see on a pedestal…

"I am Darkwing Duck!"

Drake Mallard turns into the crime fighter hero. Launchpad and Gosalyn smiled.

"Alright, D.W.!" Launchpad cheered.

Darkwing jumps and lands next to his fellow comrades. The heroic fighter gives his teammates armed weapons. The three got into their fighting stances, and Darkwing then said...

"Let's... get... Dangerous!"

Darkwing Duck, Launchpad, and Gosalyn immediately fight back the shadows.

Donald and Della punched and kicked the shadows in their fight.

"Some anniversary this is!" Donald yelled and complained. "Why do these things always happen!?"

"Hey!" Della tells her brother, "At least one good thing came out from all of this."

"What's that?"

Della lands a hard kick on a shadow, and then she replies, "We're all fighting together as a family on our family anniversary. Am I right?"

Donald hears and smiles. "Well put, Della."

Scrooge duels Magica as he tries to retrieve back his dime. But Magica uses her shielding magic to prevent Scrooge from getting his dime back.

"Do you know how much of a fortune I spent putting together this anniversary," Scrooge said as swings his cane to Magica?

Magica defends herself from Scrooge's attack and then says, "Not as fortune as your precious dime."

"I swear De Spell, ya are much of a nuisance than Glomgold and any other of my sworn enemies."

"Really? I guess I must be your favorite villain, then?"

"That wasn't ye compliment."

"Well, here's my compliment." Magica charges her staff and aims at Scrooge. "Compliments from the most powerful sorceress."

Scrooge braces for De Spell's attack…

SWISH! DONK!

De Spell screamed in pain when an object hit her head, making her fall to the floor. She then drops Scrooge's number one dime. Scrooge immediately reacts and successfully grabs back his dime.

Wondering who interfered with Magica, Scrooge turns around and sees Huey on a staircase's handrail, wielding a slingshot. He was the triplet who fired at De Spell.

Huey smiles and says, "Junior Woodchuck rule number ten: Be prepared to fight back and defend whenever your fellow Woodchucks are in danger."

"That's my senior Junior Woodchuck," Scrooge happily comments.

Magica then regains her feet and is mad. "Alright!" she says in irk, "I've had it up to here. Give me that dime, you old geezer!"

Scrooge and Magica then start to duel using their cane and staff as a fencing sword. Neither one is backing out.

May and June watched the ongoing battle as they were hiding. May held the Millennium Star tightly and securely.

"I wish we could get in there and help our family," May said with concern.

"I know," June replies, "but we need to get this star to the other bin right now. C'mon!"

May agrees with June, and both quietly sneak away from the fight. While the girls are on the quiet move, Launchpad McQuack battles a shadow until he gets kicked hard. The shadow's kick attack shoved Launchpad toward the girls, and Bam! The three collided. May drops the star, and it flies toward the battle. May and June gasped.

The Millennium Star then lands in the center of the battle. Everyone, including De Spell and her buzzard, noticed.

"What is that?" Magica asks and sees the star.

Not to let Magica know the star's ultimate power, the heroes reacted fast with fabricated facts.

"It's nothing!" Huey speaks up.

"It's just an ornament," Della falsely stated.

"Just some trinket," Webby declares.

"Completely," Louie says. "It's just some cheap knockoff from a flea market."

"Yeah," Dewey falsely agrees, "It's not something special to look at."

"Yeah," Launchpad agrees by lying, "it's not like some magical star that can grant wishes or something."

"LAUNCHPAD!"

Everyone shouted in anger at the airheaded pilot. After that, Launchpad becomes confused about why.

Magica heard and made an evil grin. "A star that grants wishes?" Magica says with an intriguing face. "Now that's even more valuable than McDuck's lucky dime. Shadows, grab that star!"

Instantly, the shadow clones went after the Millennium Star. But the McDuck family and their friends quickly reacted and reached for the star too.

Soon it became a silly game like grabbing the money and run. Dewey grabs the star first, but his shadow clone swipes, then Webby steals it back, then Scrooge's shadow takes it, then Darkwing gets it back, but Shadow Della steals it, then Huey, then Shadow Gizmoduck, then Louie, then Shadow Violet, then Lena, then Shadow Gosalyn, and so on so forth.

It isn't until then Huey is the last one to have the Millennium Star, but he is cornered by the shadows. Donald Duck, however, appears behind the shadows and waves his arms to Huey.

"Huey! Huey!" Donald yelled, "Throw it to me!"

Huey heard and threw the star to Donald. The uncle duck tries to catch it, but the Millennium Star bounces off his head. And the star landed…

in De Spell's hands!

The McDuck family gasped in great shock.

"Ha-haaa!" Magica cheered evilly, "The star's mine! And now what I wish for…" Scrooge, the triplets, Donald, Della, and everyone else prepare for the worst. "Magical star, I command you to–"

YOINK!

Suddenly, the buzzard swoops in and snatches the Millennium Star away from Magica's grasp. The buzzard then lands on the ground, holding the star in its talons. He crows loudly with a screeching sound.

"What are you doing, you ingrateful fowl!?" Magica said in ire. "Give that back to–"

Flash!

The star glowed just then, and a magical aura surrounded the buzzard. The buzzard then shapeshifts with the star's power to turn himself back into…

"Well, about time I got out of that horrid buzzard form," the buzzard said as he fixed his glasses.

Another gasp triggered from McDuck family, and De Spell's beak dropped. To everyone's surprise, appearing before their view is none other than…

"Bradford Buzzard!" Scrooge shouted.

Bradford observes the Millennium Star in his hands and says, "I can't tell you how much I needed this star so badly, Mr. McDuck. I've waited years to get my hands on this. And this star will help me ensure my goal will be achieved and permanent, for good."

"Not if I take it from you first!" Magica shouted. She charges her staff and shoots at Bradford.

But the buzzard remains calm and says, "Star, strip all her magic away." The star glowed, and the star absorbed Magica's beam attack in an instant.

But afterward, the star shoots a beam at Magica and makes contact. Magica screamed in pain as all her magic powers were drained away. Her loss of magic also caused her shadow minions to lose their magic and revert to ordinary shadows to their proper owners. Every bit of Magica's powers is drained and absorbed into the star. Magica collapsed to the floor.

"My powers!" Magica cried. "They're gone… AGAIN! Give me back my powers, you feathery villain!"

Bradford calmly replies, "Like I said, I'm no villain. I'm a businessman working out a perfect deal to keep things in order. I can't let unpredictable and foolish people like you, De Spell, create chaos and disruptions for my ideal world."

"What ideal world!?" Della scolded. "If you're no villain, then why go through all this nonsense and diabolical schemes by getting rid of people!?"

"It's not a matter of getting rid of people. It's knowing and convincing others of what they're doing is a waste of time and trivial rubbish."

"The only thing that's trivial rubbish is you, Bradford," Scrooge stated with an irk mood.

Huey becomes curious and asks, "What I like to know is how in the world did you know about the star? Scrooge never told anyone until now."

Bradford replies, "As I told Scrooge, how did Della know about the Spear of Selene when he made it? Scrooge may use top-of-the-line security that prevents anyone from reaching the star, but keeping confidential files from anyone was no big obstacle for me.

A business accountant must gather as much information as I need for any financial work. But hacking into the confidential files in Scrooge's computers was no match for my superior skills.

I've wanted this star ever since Scrooge discovered it. And with this, I will make sure no more adventures will ever exist."

Scrooge grinds his teeth in anger. "Bradford, you...! You...!"

"But why now!?" Webby shouted. "Why wait so long until this very day?"

"Getting past Scrooge's security measures is no easy task. He risked a lot of financial accounts and spent grands on creating an indestructible vault that is impossible for me or any F.O.W.L. agent to get through.

I was hoping he would release the star and show to his annoying family one day, but I couldn't wait any longer. So, I fell back onto my last plan by stealing Finch's missing mysteries and tried to get rid of you, Scrooge."

The whole McDuck family and their friends turned very ire for Bradford. Scrooge is still mad, but he then turns calm. "Well then, go ahead!" Scrooge commanded. "You have the star. If you're determined to get rid of me, then get this over with!"

Scrooge's family gasped. "Scrooge!" Donald said in great shock. "You don't mean it!"

"It's alright! I'm aware of the risk. No matter what happens to me, I still have my family to keep my legacy going. After all, family is my most important treasure than just tons of money." His family heard, but they understood and smiled. "Wait are you waiting for, Bradford? Go ahead and wish for me to disappear if you think that will solve everything."

Bradford hears, but he replies, "Well, I was going to get rid of the one man that keeps bringing up adventures…

But I've decided not to."

"Wait, what?" Scrooge said in bewilderment. He, his family, and their friends blinked awkwardly.

"You see, with this star in my hands and understanding its phenomenal and potential power, I came up with a better idea. But according to Dr. Gearloose's data on this star, I need to find a source of unlimited magical energy to absorb and build this star's energy. This Millennium Star requires a huge consumable of magic in order to fulfill my ultimate goal for good."

"Wait, Gyro's data?" Louie ponders.

"Where in blasted shambolic could you find a bountiful place of abundant magic?" Scrooge asks. "there's hardly enough magic to find this world."

Bradford evilly grins, "Maybe not this world…

But in another world."

The diabolical buzzard looks at the star and makes a request. "Star, take me to a place where there is unlimited magic. Magic everywhere."

The Millennium Star glowed, and then… FLASH! A magical portal appeared behind Bradford. The portal's luminous light almost blind Scrooge and his family. As Bradford is about to enter the portal, he turns to Scrooge.

"I hate to take my leave so soon, but I've got some unfinished business to do," Bradford stated. "Have a nice evening, Scrooge."

Then Bradford steps in and goes through the portal. The McDuck family and their friends flinched in surprise.

"He's getting away!" Della screamed.

"Wait!" Louie interrupts and turns to the inventor, "Gyro, what did Bradford mean about your data absorbing energy for the star?"

Gyro rubs his chin and says, "I am not sure myself. All did was run a few tests with the star before sealing it in Scrooge's high-security vault. The star can absorb anything if you command it. But that's all I got to say."

Huey hears and says, "So then, why does he need to go to another world for unlimited magic? What goal does he have in mind?"

"Guys!" Webby alerted the gang, "We've got a bigger problem!" Webby pointed her reason, and everyone looked.

To everybody's view, the portal Bradford went through starts to shrink. It was about to disappear. The family turned shocked…

Sheen!

But Lena, the only magic user, stops the portal from shrinking. The McDuck family noticed her action.

"Go! Hurry!" Lena shouted. "Go after Bradford! I can't hold this portal any longer."

Violet says next, "You've got to stop him before he's going to wish for something more disastrous than his last plan."

Scrooge heard and nodded with a firm face. He turns to this family and says, "Huey! Dewey! Louie! Webby! Donald! And Della! I want you to come along with me and help stop Bradford. We may enter another realm that's unlike any other past adventures we had. So, I'm going to need my best family and all the help I can get to stop Bradford."

"Wait!" Dewey speaks up, "What about Duckburg? Who will protect the city from enemies like Flintheart or the Beagle clan?"

"We will!" Mrs. Beakley stated, "We all will." The McDuck family's friends appeared before Scrooge and his family, telling them they would be responsible for Duckburg's protection.

"Go with Scrooge, Huey," B.O.Y.D. commanded. "My creator Gyro and I will protect Duckburg at all costs."

"With B.O.Y.D.'s superior robotic features, no villain can defeat him," Gyro stated. "And Gizmoduck and Manny will also provide the support for Duckburg as well."

"That's right!" Gizmoduck stated with confidence, "Duckburg will be in our good hands." Manny agrees with Gizmoduck

Gandra appears and says, "Just make sure you come back here alive when you beat Bradford for good."

May and June appear before Webby.

"Webby," May speaks, "I know we didn't spend too much time together on this anniversary, but be careful and good luck. Please come back home safe."

"Yeah!" June agrees, "We have so much to do with you, me, May, Lena, and Violet after this is all over."

Ghost Duckworth speaks to his master Scrooge, "I will take responsible care of the manor and Duckberg in your absence. Do please come back here in one piece."

"I'll stay behind and take care of the city too, Mr. McDee," Launchpad declares. "You can count on me."

"Uh, Launchpad," Darkwing Duck speaks, "You better go along with Scrooge and his family. You're not a McDuck, but you're still family to them. And they're going to need a great pilot in case they need to fly around this other world they're going."

"D.W.," Gosalyn speaks, "It is okay to let Launchpad go along with Scrooge and his family?"

Darkwing tilts next to Gosalyn. "Keep this between you and me, but I don't want L.P. ruining my heroic moments again. Remember when he drove the Ratcatcher last time."

"Point taken." The two turned to Launchpad, and Gosalyn replied. "We'll be okay protecting Duckberg and St. Canard. You go and help Scrooge and his family stop Bradford."

Launchpad heard his two best friends and smiled. "Alright! Save me a good burrito when I get back."

"Will do, L.P. Will do…"

Darkwing and Gosalyn looked at each other and winked with a grin.

Suddenly, Magica appears before Scrooge. The evil sorceress is irked about her lost magic powers. She turns to Scrooge and says, "Normally, I would never cooperate with a stingy cheapskate like you. But without my magic, I'm completely useless again. So, until you beat Bradford again, I'll call it a truce. And I want you to destroy that infernal buzzard for good."

Scrooge and his loyal family heard everyone's best regards, including an awkward moment from Magica's request. However, the McDuck family turned firm with confidence and understanding.

"You can count on us!" Donald said with certainty.

"We'll be back before you know it!" Della declared.

"Guys!" Lena shouted, alerting the McDuck family. "I can't hold it much longer!"

The McDuck family heard and then turned serious. Scrooge turns to his family.

"Let's go, family!" Scrooge commanded.

"Right!" The McDuck family agreed in unison.

In an instant, the Mcducks raced to the portal and jumped into it. Scrooge and Webby are the last two to go through the portal. But before they do, they both turn around and get one last look at their friends. They all smiled, wishing them good and confident luck.

"Good luck!" Lena cheered.

"You can do it!" Violet said with confidence.

Scrooge and Webby heard, and both turned to each other.

"Ready, Dad?" Webby said with a bold face.

"Ya know it, me daughter," Scrooge calmly replies.

Then the two hopped into the portal.

Lena then cancels her magic, making the portal disappear. Lena huffs and puffs after using her magic for so long. Violet confronts Lena's exhaustion.

Mrs. Beakley kept staring at where the portal used to be. She has a determined expression. "Be careful, McDucks…" Mrs. Beakley said.

The McDuck family is in a space rift as they all fly toward their destination. The family screamed through the teleportation. It didn't take long until they reached the other side of the space rift and went through another portal. As the family exited the portal, they fell and landed on a grassy hill.

The triplets landed on the ground with little pain, and Webby landed safely with a spy maneuver. Donald hits the ground hard, next Launchpad lands on top of Donald, and lastly Della lands on Launchpad's back. Both Della and Launchpad are squishing poor Donald Duck. Finally, Scrooge lands safely on the ground as he holds tightly to his top hat.

After the landing, Scrooge looks up and analyzes the scenery. The elder duck now sees the vast grasslands and tall mountains around the area.

"Hmm… Certainly not any place that's full of magic," Scrooge noted.

Huey regains his composure and says, "But Bradford commanded the star to find a place full of unlimited magic. So this must be the place."

Louie stood up and said, "Speaking of, where is that buzzard?"

"Whoa!" Webby said with excitement, "Look up there!"

Webby pointed, and everyone looked. The family turned in awe when they all observed what Webby was seeing. They see a small group of four-legged creatures with wings flying in the sky.

"Are they… birds?" Donald asked.

"Are they… planes?" Launchpad wonders.

Della says, "No, they look… they look like…"

The McDuck family tries to get a better look. And when they did, flying in the sky are…

"PEGASI!"

Webby shouted and made a big smile. But when they heard Webby's statement, the family turned surprised. But Webby wasn't kidding that they are truly flying pegasi in the sky.

"Wow," Dewey said with awe and observed the group of pegasuses. "They are Pegasusi."

"And they look so adorable!" Webby said as she held her excitement.

"Hey, gang!" Louie called out to his family. "You might wanna take a look at this."

The family hears Louie, and they see him gazing out at something. They all approached Louie and looked at where he was staring. When they did, the family became amazed at what they witnessed.

In the distance is a town with a river running through it and a red barn on a hill overlooking the town. The barn is surrounded by acres of apple trees. And within the town consists of many different colors and little horses walking around the place.

Scrooge and his family are still amazed at this sight.

"Bless me bagpipes," Scrooge said with shock.

"Curse me kilts," Webby said with surprise.

"Wow," Launchpad says with amazement, "Look at all those little ponies down there."

"Where in the world are we?" Della asks.

Huey answers, "I can say this, Mom…

We're not in Duckberg anymore."
