Taka: So it turns out that Davis has worked himself so hard that he got himself sick. When that happened, we offered to run the ramen shop and serve this food critic. We had a competition to find the best ramen to serve him and Amanda was the one that won, while Haru and I fought who should get last place. In reality, it was part of a scheme to ruin the ramen shop by a sly businessman using a Raremon, but the girls and Ben put a stop to that. To show how grateful he is, Davis invited us to something special.
"Quite A Reunion"
"Yeah. I'll be there soon." A lady said as she was flying, and flying into Japan. Whoever this woman was, she was dressed classy and elegance with a white power suit and skirt with her having long brown hair. However, she also radiated with something malicious. Someone like her heading to Japan could be trouble. "I can't help but wonder if I'm going to run into her."
...
Odaiba
"Here we are." Davis said. "The others should be here soon." Davis and Veemon were with Haru and the others, but they were waiting out in the open and waited near the water.
"Davis, are you sure it's okay for us to be here?" Mary asked. "This seems like a special occasion and we wouldn't want to intrude."
"Nonsense." Davis said. "They're all going to love having you guys here. After all, you guys are digidestined. You became part of our crazy lives the moment you got those digivices."
"Well, I for one am glad to be here." Kudamon said. "It's an honor that you invited us."
"I don't think anyone has had the honor of anything Davis has done." Veemon said with all of them laughing.
"Hey! Here they come!" Haru said as they were all meeting up with all the other digidestined and their digimon. Ken, Yolei, Cody, T.K. and Kari were all showing up.
"Hey! Sorry to keep you guys waiting." T.K. said.
"It's great to see you all again." Ben said.
"We do hope you don't mind us being here." Swallowmon said.
"Not at all. We're glad you guys." Cody said. "Davis told us you were here and you're all more than welcomed to be here."
"And you get to meet some of the others." Kari said.
"Hey! We're here!" That was when another showed up. Haru recognized Tai, but there were some others there. "Haru and Dorumon! Good to see you guys again, and is that really Mary Minato? The same little girl my sister once babysat?"
"It's good to see you again, Tai." Mary said.
"And it's pleasure to meet all of your friends now." Haru said.
"It's nice that we finally get to meet all of you." A lady with red hair said. "Kari and the others told us all about you guys. My name is Sora Takenouchi."
"Hi there." Another lady said. "My name is Mimi Tachikawa. I'm a young fashion designer, and plan to be much more." She claimed to try and make a good first impression.
"It's nice to finally meet the new digidestined. My name is Izzy." A guy with red hair said. "I'm glad I finally get to meet you all. There's so much I wish to learn from all of you."
"My name is Joe Kido." Another man with blue hair and glasses said. "I might be a doctor, but I am hoping we could know each other as more than just patients. I'm sorry. Did that sound weird?"
"And I'm Matt Ishida. You already met my younger brother, T.K." The last one said.
"It's nice that we finally get to meet the original digidestined." Haru said as this was a momentous occasion. Three generations of digidestined have now come together for appears to be a union and a reunion. With all three generations of digidestined like this, it was a great thing. Even though they've all grown and try to live their own lives, they all still find ways to get together since their bond is just that strong. With all of them meeting up like this, Tai and the others shared their stories and the younger digidestined were beginning to learn a lot.
"And it was thanks to our friends that we made in the Digital World that we were able to defeat the Four Dark Masters." Sora said.
"Not to mention they helped us against BlackWarGreymon and other dark forces." T.K. said.
"Sheesh. That BlackWarGreymon sounded like he needed anger management classes." Haru said.
"You think he was bad? They had had to fight this Myotismon three times." Taka said.
"We were able to overcome all the odds against such powerful opponents because we all stuck together and worked together. That's what you guys need to do." Tai said. "Haru told me a bit about what you guys went through so far, you guys are still pretty green."
"Green? I'm purple." Dorumon said.
"He means that you guys are still pretty fresh and new to this." Izzy said. "While we're at it, I would like to see your digivices."
"You mean these?" Mary asked as each one of them held up a digivice.
"Fascinating. The others have told me about these new digivices, like how you're able to open portals to the Digital World right where you're standing, as well as how you were able to find your partners." Izzy said. "Never have there been digivices like those models before."
"So we keep hearing." Ben said. "I believe it is some sort of quantum theory that allows the gates to be opened. Not to mention, based on how we met Swallowmon and the others, would be related to Einstein's theory of relativity."
"I see. Interesting idea, Ben." Izzy said. "Your digivices must hold your genetic code and was able to bring you partners that you held compatibility with. Digivices always acted like a medium between our two kinds, but things are different now. Maybe these new models are some sort of bio integrators to digimon or linkers."
"Does anyone even know what they're talking about?" Amanda questioned.
"No, but then again we barely do. I just simply smile and nod." Davis said with all of them having a laugh.
"By the way, we were all told about Mistymon." Mimi said. "Is it true that there are some digimon that think humans are the problem?"
"I'm afraid so. They seem pretty convinced that humans in the Digital World just cause more problems, and Mistymon seems to be the leader in all of it." Amanda said.
"And we are aware that many humans are fearful of us digimon." Kudamon said.
"It must be difficult to know we're all so close yet so far away." Labramon said.
"But that's what we're fighting for. Remember?" Haru said. "I thought about what you told us before, Tai. How you all had to say goodbye to your partners, and how many people are afraid of digimon despite not understanding them. That's why we want to change the world. If the Digital World really is a world where anything is possible, there must be a way. Maybe there's even a way to get your partners back. If that creepy Myotismon was able to come back to life so many times, how come your digimon can't?" All of them were amazed with what Haru said. It sounds like Haru really understands the connection between humans and digimon more than anyone.
"You might not have been a digidestined for very long, but it seems like you really get it." Matt said.
"He's right, Haru." Kari said. "I've dreamt of a world where humans and digimon can live together with no evil maniac trying to ruin it. Maybe you guys really can find a way to do it."
"Yeah! I certainly want to stay in the human world." Dorumon said. "There's so much here that we don't have in the Digital World. For example, there were those weird books Tai had in his place with all those human girls in it. I never saw anything like that." Once he said that, Tai instantly got embarrassed with everyone looking at him.
"You've got a big mouth." Haru said as he knocked Dorumon right on the head. "I'm pretty sure that was something private and you shouldn't have said that in front of everyone."
"What is Dorumon talking about?" Swallowmon questioned.
"No clue." Ponymon said.
"It's something the male species of humans take delight in." Hawkmon said with some of them looking at Tai with judgement eyes.
"It's not what you think! I swear!" Tai shouted.
"No worries. Nothing to be embarrassed about, Tai. After all, we guys understand." Taka said with all of them having a laugh. Other than that, this little unity is surely shaping to be something great.
...
The Girls
Wanting to keep the festivities going, all of them hit town and tried to have some fun and enjoy themselves. The girls separated themselves from the boys and actually decided to do some shopping.
"Is this really necessary?" Amanda said with annoyance as Mimi tried treating her like a mannequin and find new clothes for her.
"Come on. A girl can always update her look." Mimi said. "Now, I understand black and pink are your colors, but I'm afraid what you have on now is a little more scary than stunning."
"That's why I like it." Amanda said. While those two were going at each other like that, the others girls all hung back and were simply enjoying the show.
"Is Mimi always like this?" Mary questioned.
"This is nothing. You should see what she's like when there's a sell going on." Sora said. "Don't let her fool you. Maybe Mimi can be a little extra, but she's got a good heart and is one of the nicest people there is."
"You can say that again. I love both my sisters, but I do wish they were more like Mimi." Yolei said. "When I was a kid, I wanted to be just like her."
"I get that feeling." Mary said as she felt the same about Kari. "By the way, Kari... I don't think we really thanked you for taking care of Davis while he was sick. Davis has been good to us since this all started for us, and we appreciate you helped him out as well."
"I didn't mind. I mean...a friend in need is a friend in need." Kari said. "If anyone deserves the thanks, it's you guys. He told me all about how you guys saved his business from those con artists."
"On that note, there is one thing I have to ask you about. Haru asked you out of everyone because of a little something." Mary said. "Do you think it's possible that Davis has a crush on you?"
"More than possible." Gatomon said. "Davis has been crushing on her for years. He thinks we don't know, but it is rather obvious."
"And it does make things rather fun to tease him." Mimi said as she jumped right into the conversation. "I remember when you and T.K. came to visit me in New York, Kari. We had a couple pictures that surely would have made him jealous."
"Wait. You were trying to make him jealous?" Mary questioned.
"Yeah, but it was just harmless teasing. It was nothing." Kari said as it seems that even she can be a little mischievous.
"I don't think so. I think that's a little mean." Mary said as she didn't really approve. "If you don't like him, it's fine, but I don't think you should purposely make him jealous like that."
"I don't approve either, but what can you do?" Sora said.
"Oh please." Amanda said. "There's only one reason to make a person jealous. I think you secretly like him, Kari, and you just don't want to admit it." When Amanda said that, the girls gasped with Kari starting to turn red.
"Oh my gosh! I never thought about that!" Mimi said as she was getting excited.
"That... That's crazy!" Kari said.
"Well, why else would you try to make him jealous? Admit it. You like him." Amanda said.
"I'm so not!" Kari said.
"Now that Amanda mentions it, she does bring up a good point. You're usually nicer and more caring than that." Yolei said. "You must like him."
"No way!" Kari kept denying, but the girls weren't really buying it and couldn't stop laughing.
"You're one to talk, Mary. I've seen the way you look at Haru." Amanda pointed out with Mary getting embarrassed now. As for the boy digimon, they were just getting bored and annoyed with all of this.
"Ever wish you had a boy partner?" Labramon questioned.
"Yolei has her moments." Hawkmon said and was going to say nothing more.
"I'm satisfied. The female species is much nicer and compassionate, but they do appear to be more fragile." Kudamon said.
"Hey, you!" Mary said as she grabbed a hold of Kudamon. "What are you saying about girls?"
"Nothing! Nothing but good things! I swear!" Kudamon said in defense. Whether your a human or digimon, girls are not easy to deal with.
...
The Boys
"Fascinating." Izzy said. As the girls were doing some shopping, the boys were all together in the open. Izzy used the opportunity to study the new digivices with the geniuses of the group looked over the data. "These new digivices are fine pieces of tech."
"Indeed." Ben said. "Do you see what I was talking about earlier?"
"Based on what I'm seeing, there might be more." Ken said.
"Well, it looks like the geniuses are really hitting it off." Taka said. "Even though I have no idea what they're even talking about."
"Better get used to it." Matt said. "It was thanks to Izzy's brainpower that we were able to understand more about the digimon. If Ben can actually learn from Izzy and speak his language, he'll be of great help to you."
"Ken is the same way. He's a genius in his own right." Davis said.
"In the meantime, I do need to talk to you guys about something." Cody said. "The digimon you've been fighting that work with Mistymon... You've actually destroyed them, right?"
"Cody, they had to do something. Those digimon think humans are the enemies." Armadillomon said. "They had to do something or else they all would have been in real danger."
"I know, but I don't like that we had to destroy digimon because they were alive like us." Cody said. "Take BlackWarGreymon for example. He was evil, but he ended up becoming good. He risked himself to save my grandfather. I don't like that digimon need to be destroyed, good or evil."
"I understand how you must feel, Cody, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do." Joe said. "You've been studying to be a lawyer, so you try to see both sides of things."
"At least there's a good chance they can be reborn." Haru said.
"Anyway, let's go. We should meet up with the girls." T.K. said. All of them agreed to that and got moving together and walked over a bridge. "I have to say that it's rather nice to have everyone together like this. We should do it more often."
"I wish it was that easy, T.K." Matt said.
"Maybe, but we can find a way. We always do." T.K. said.
"Bigger question. What do you think the girls talk about? How awesome they think I am?" Taka said to be funny, but then he bumped right into Haru. "How about a warning next time?"
"I don't believe it. Look who else is here." Haru said. All of them looked ahead of them and Haru and his group couldn't believe their eyes. On the other side of the bridge was none other than Sid and Panmon. They live in Odaiba as well?
"Sid, look." Panmon said once he spotted them and Sid noticed them himself.
"Hey! We're back! Wait until you hear what we found out!" Mimi said with Kari getting embarrassed as the girls came back.
"Amanda! Mary! Look who it is!" Ben said. The girls looked and were surprised to see Sid themselves.
"Well, this is a surprise." Sid said.
"What's going on? Who is that?" Tai asked.
"He's the one I told you guys about. That's Sid and his partner Panmon, the ones that attack innocent digimon." Ken said.
"They attack digimon?!" Sora said as many were shocked that a fellow digidestined would do something like that.
"We didn't know you lived around here, too." Haru said, but one could see some strong tension between the two of them. "We were just having a little get-together. Everyone here was or is a digidestined like you are."
"What's your point?" Sid questioned as he clearly hasn't changed. "If you rely on this many people, you're clearly weaker and more pathetic than I thought."
"What is it with you? Why do you think relying on others makes you weak?" Haru questioned.
"Because YOUR power matters." Sid said. "Relying on others just slows you down. What good does it do you when you can't take matters into your own hands? Why rely on people who won't even stick around?"
"I don't think you really believe that. Otherwise, why have Panmon around?" Haru questioned. "Isn't Panmon relying on you to get stronger, and you rely on Panmon to fight for you?"
"Panmon's power is my power. As he grows stronger, I grow stronger. It's more like a symbiotic relationship where we both get something out of it, unlike that teamwork stuff." Sid said. "Of course, he is free to leave whenever he wants. What Panmon does doesn't mean anything to me. If he thinks he doesn't need me to digivolve anymore, I wouldn't care."
"Just like you don't care about all the innocent digimon you attacked and hurt." Mary said. "If you keep this up, how are people and digimon suppose to live together."
"I don't care. That has nothing to do with me." Sid said.
"But you're attacking innocent digimon that were living peacefully. Panmon, how can you be okay with this?" Dorumon said
"I'm aiming to be the strongest digimon there ever was. If Sid can get me to become that, nothing else really matters to me." Panmon said.
"Are you serious?" Dorumon said as he couldn't believe Panmon is really okay with it.
"What's wrong, Dorumon? Wanna fight?" Panmon challenged with Dorumon tempted to take that damage.
"Forget it, Panmon. It would be a waste of time to fight weaklings." Sid said.
"Sid, listen. You're a digidestine like us." Haru said. "You have a digivice with a digimon partner like we do. Apparently, there are tons of us all over the world. We want to create a world where humans and digimon live together, but this isn't how it's suppose to go. We're suppose to be working together." Sid pulled out his digivice and showed it was the same as Haru's and the others to think about what he said.
"You think just because we have these devices with digimon partners, you think we're bound together or something?" Sid said. "No. I do what I want. This is my choice. What you guys has nothing to do with me. Keep that in mind and just stay out of my way. Let's go, Panmon." With that, Sid just turned away.
"Lucky you." Panmon said as he left with Sid. The two of them left quite an impression on those who haven't met him until now.
"I've never seen a digidestine like him." Izzy said. "He's not interested in helping the Digital World, attacks innocent digimon, and thinks all of this has nothing to do with him?"
"He thinks the only thing we have in common is that we have digivices and digimon. Our connection ends at that." Haru said. "He doesn't see why he should be anymore involved and that our problems have nothing to do with him."
"Maybe it does and he doesn't see it." Ben said as he started down his digivice and held it up to the sky. "Why are we the only ones with these new model digivices? Why were we chosen out of everyone else? The more I think about it, the more I wonder. The Digital World seems to be filled with limitless possibilities. There's so much to learn and discover. I would love to study it, but it seems like it would take a lifetime."
"I know exactly how you feel, Ben." Izzy claimed. "I want to know more about the Digital World myself."
"It certainly is amazing when you think about it." Tai said. "That's why you guys should stick together, so you can learn how to bring both worlds together." Everyone certainly felt the same about this. Just then, they heard the honking of a car as it pulled up to them. That was when the lady from the plane stepped out of the car and Amanda was quite surprised to see her.
"Amanda? Is that really you?" The lady asked.
"What are you doing in Japan, Joanne?" Amanda asked.
"I'm actually here on business. That's what you do when you're a successful person from a wealthy and renowned family instead of a complete embarrassment." Joanne said.
"Amanda, who is she?" Mary asked.
"She's my older sister." Amanda admitted.
"Sister?!" Haru said as all of them were surprised that she even had one.
"Well, to be more accurate, she's my half-sister." Amanda said. "We have the same father, but we have different mothers. Her name is Joanne Garven of the Garven Family back in Germany. One of the wealthiest families there is."
"Wealthy?! You mean you're rich?!" Taka said.
"Your friends here did not know about that or that you're actually connected to us?" Joanne said. "I guess that means you accepted that you're just an embarrassment to the family name. My mother's of noble class while yours is just mere commoner that our father foolishly had a thing with and resulted in the mistake that is you."
"Hey! What's that about?!" Haru said as he doesn't approve of his friend being talked to like that.
"And I see you actually socialize with those creatures called digimon." Joanne said as she took notice of all of them.
"Uh... Hi, I'm Labramon. I'm Amanda's digimon."
"You actually have one of those things?" Joanne questioned.
"You stay away from him." Amanda said. "And for the record, I never talked about you because I don't want anything to do with you or Father."
"Fine. I actually have work that would make Father proud anyway since I'm his true heir." Joanne said. She got back in her car and it drove off with Amanda greatly irritated with her sister.
"She was awful. What was that about? Why did she treat you like that?" Mary questioned.
"It's because she's an obnoxious rotten rich pain, but her being here in Japan can't really be good." Amanda said as she just knows that her older sister being in Japan is nothing but trouble.
...
Joanne
Joanne actually did have business in Japan. That business was taking part in a government project that was taking place right in Odaiba. As she made her way up the building, she soon found herself in a room and was meeting with the one in charge. The one who was spying on Haru and his friends.
"Miss Garven, thank you for coming." He said as the two of them shook hands.
"I take it you're Hiori Kaido, the one in charge of all of this. What is all of this exactly?" Joanne asked.
"I'll cut right to the chase." Hiori said. "You see, you are aware of digimon just like others. Many are afraid of them, and I intend to do something about that. I am working on ways that could help rid our world of these dangerous creatures, and I was hoping you could provide funding."
"Eliminate digimon? Interesting..." Joanne said as she thought about how Amanda was earlier. 'If the digimon are so precious to you, Amanda, I'll be glad to take them away.' She thought as she would love nothing more than to have her half-sister tortured.
To Be Continued...
