AN: Wrote this very quickly, just a short little crack fic idea that got stuck in my head. Enjoy!

"I think I'm in love with Spock"

When no reply came to his, very earth-breaking, confession, Jim looked up from where his head lay on Bone's desk only to see his friend continuing his reports. He wasn't expecting much, but even a small reaction would be nice. This was a world-ending universe-imploding news after all.

"Bones? Did you hear me?"

McCoy barely looked up from his PADD, "uh-huh… you love Spock."

"I don't know if… I mean… I think I love Spock"

Jim's words seem to finally register in the doctor's head as he finally gives his long time friend his full attention, "wait… you think you love Spock?"

"Yes!"

"You only think? You think?"

'Finally', Jim thought, Bones was finally treating this with the severity it called for. "I know! Or I think I do. I don't know Bones! Maybe it's just a crush and it'll go away soon."

Jim slumped back in his chair as McCoy put his head in his hands

As Jim started thinking about his doomed crush on his first officer, Bones began muttering under his breath, "Lord give me strength, he thinks. He only thinks he loves him. He thinks it's a crush. He thinks"

With a sigh McCoy got up from his desk and dug out his stash of brandy and made himself and Jim a drink

"Jim. I'm telling this to you as your friend. You are in love with Spock."

"I - "

"No, listen to me. You are in love with Spock. Have been for as long as I've known you both. I know it, the crew knows it, hell I think everyone we encounter on an away mission knows it. The only one that doesn't is Spock…. And yourself apparently"

Kirk gaped like a fish as Bones downed his drink and then another. He was too old for this kind of stuff

The two continued to drink in silence for a while, Jim thinking about what McCoy had said, and Bones thinking, hoping, that was the last of it

"Okay… I love Spock… but do you think he loves me back?"

Flipping on his communicator Bones didn't even reply to Kirk, "Scotty! I need your strongest stuff"

AN: Bones than got very drunk and still had to explain the next day that "Yes Jim, he does love you back he's just bad at showing it"

And a few weeks later Scotty got a call from Uhura who had to break it down for Spock as well

These two idiots deserve each other
