Mark picked Lexie up bridal style and put her in to the other front seat of the car.He sped along the highway probably breaking many speed limits.After ten minutes they arrived at SGMW and Mark quickly parked the car.
As they got into the hospital April and Hunt were waiting for incoming traumas.Lexie was leaning on Mark, wrapping her arm around his shoulder."What's going on,why does Lexie look so pale"Hunt said.April had a concerned expression on her face."I think her appendix is ruptured she needs an abdominal ultrasound stat"Mark exclaimed.They quickly rushed Lexie into an exam room and April lifted up her top.Lexie was to tired to say anything or move so she didn't resist.April squeezed on the gel and put the wand on Lexie's abdomen."Her appendix seems to be enlarged and there is free fluid surrounding her appendix"April said."Kepner what do we do im this situation?"Hunt exclaimed."Due to the appendix being perforated Lexie needs an open appendectomy".
They rushed Lexie up to surgery but Mark couldn't go in the operating theatre.With tears in his eyes he let go of Lexie's grasped hand as she got rushed into emergency surgery.Mark decided to go and tell all of Lexie's friends what had happened.
3 Hours later
Meredith,Mark,April,Arizona and Derek were in Lexie's room waiting for Lexie's general anaesthetic to ware off.The surgery was successful so Lexie would recover well.Disoriented,Lexie's eyes adjusted to the glaring lights looking around the room."W-Where am I?"Lexie asked in a shaky voice.Mark stroked her soft cheek whilst pushing back her hair "Your appendix ruptured you needed an emergency appendectomy."Lexie lifted up her pyjama top and saw a secure bandage around her lower-right abdomen.
"I'm sorry for being such a pain recently, I'm sorry for worrying everyone."Lexie said holding the tears in the back of her throat."You haven't done anything wrong sweetie, we should of looked out for you."Arizona said with her warm smile.
Everyone looked after Lexie for the next 24 hours until Mark took her back to stay at his place.
Mark picks up Lexie bridal style and puts her on the bed in his flat."Mark you broke up with me I don't think I should stay here" Lexie said."I regret breaking up with you, as you are the only women I ever want in this world"Mark said in a comforting tone.Mark climbs into the bed putting the covers over them and wrapping his arms carefully around Lexie's abdomen.They starts to drift off into a new start of their relationship.
The next morning Mark woke up to Lexie moaning quietly."Lexie are you okay, let me see your wound"Mark said."No I'm perfectly fine you don't need to worry."Mark ignored her completely fake comment and lifted up Lexie's shirt."Lexie I think your wound needs changing, maybe you should have a shower.""No I'm to tired to take a shower". Mark didnt listen to her remark and turned on the warm water for the bath and carefully took of Lexie's clothes."Mark I don't want to have a bath."she said."Well if you don't want to clean yourself then I'll have to."Lexie mumbled in disapproval as Mark laid Lexie down into the bath.
Mark put shampoo in his hands and massaged Lexie's scalp before showering it off.After he finished cleaning her carefully with a loofa he peeled of the bandage as he had to redress the wound.Lexie grimaced in discomfort but Mark stroked her hair comfortingly.He then put some disinfectant on the sound and dried it carefully.Lexie curled into a ball due the the pain."Lexie I need to dress the wound I'm sorry it will almost be over soon".Lexie excepted the pain and let Mark put a fresh bandage over the wound.He the wrapped her fragile body in a towel and rubbed her softly in circular motions.
Lexie knew she was safe with him and cuddled up into his arms on the sofa.
