Author's Note: I'm making some major changes from canon Naruto relating to Hinata, such as a few changes in the parentage of everyone's favorite shy girl (Hinata) which will be revealed at some point during this story (Don't worry she's still a Hyuga but let's just say she isn't inbred like Hyuga usually are this time around) other than that there is another secret i have hidden up my sleeve relating to Hinata that will be revealed during the Land of Waves ark and will be expanded upon from there so that this whole 2 man genin team thing ends up working out and certain things that happened in canon are still possible without Naruto bumming around the leaf village

Naruto Diminishing Fire: Chapter Two

"My name is Naruto…, Uzumaki Naruto," Naruto declared turmoil visible within his voice, his gaze wandering away from Haku and fixing on the imposing figure standing behind Haku. "Who's he?" Naruto asked, with a puzzled expression. "Oh, that's Zabuza-sama." Haku responded, "Haku, let's get going. We have a mission to complete and a reputation for speedy completion to uphold," Zabuza commanded, already walking away. Haku cast a fleeting glance back at Naruto, a hint of pity in her eyes, before catching up with Zabuza. "Wait!" Naruto called out desperately. "Let me come with you!" Naruto's plea rang echoing through the air, "I guess there's nothing wrong with having another tool in my arsenal." Zabuza thought out loud, "Hurry you are burning daylight just sitting there, and if you can't keep up we will leave you behind, I don't need a tool without purpose weighing down my arsenal."

Konohagakure*

The village had on high alert ever since Naruto disappeared along with the scroll holding knowledge on how to perform all of the most dangerous kinjutsu known to Konohagakure, leaving behind a trail of questions, concerns, doubts, and for some a confirmation of their misplaced hatred held towards Naruto. Despite the turmoil, life in the village pressed on. A small some what somber funeral was held for Mizuki, despite his obvious betrayal, a testament to Konoha's respect for its fallen Shinobi.

Konoha Ninja Academy*

At the Ninja Academy, graduation day had arrived, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the young newly minted ninja. The absence of one familiar face, Uzumaki Naruto, did not go unnoticed. While some felt relief, and some felt indifference some others couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness, like Hinata, who silently mourned his absence. Ino and Sakura them barged into the classroom screaming insults at each other while vieing for a certain Brooding Uchiha's attention, only to be outdone by one Inazuka Kiba, who much to their dismay jumped up onto Sasuke's desk and gave him a quizzical death glare wondering in his head why the "Brooding Emo beta Uchiha boy" gained the misplaced affection from all of the girls in their class instead of an "Alpha male" such as himself, one of the boys, in Kiba's daze he failed to notice the Guy in front of him and Sasuke leaning back to tell them all to shut up accidentally bumping into Kiba causing him to lose his balance and face plant his lips right into a "loving" smooch with the brooding Uchiha the girls all started screaming in dismay as Kiba and Sasuke bounced away from each other puking is disgust at what had just occurred. Just before Kiba could get beat up by the girls who's dismay and horror at not not being Sasuke's first kiss transformed to rage, Iruka-Sensei Walked into the room being dismayed by the unprofessionalism being shown off by his soon to be Legal Adult students, Using his signature Big head No Jutsu, the volume of his voice increasing exponentially with the size of his head as he shut up his class of rowdy graduates giving the class a lecture about the life of a Shinobi before getting into announcing the teams eventually leading up to

Hyuga Hinata, and Uchiha Sasuke under Hatake Kakashi

"Team 8"

Haruno Sakura, Inazuka Kiba, and Aburame Shino under Yuhi Kurenai.

"Team 9, is still a team in active service so we are skipping that one this year around"

"Team 10"

Yamanaka Ino, Akimichi Choji, Nara Shikamaru under Sarutobi Asuma

"Your sensei's will come pick you up after lunch, class dismissed" Iruka finished as everyone started pouring out of the room to go eat their Lunches.

"1 hour later"

All of the newly minted Genin started pouring back into the school, and their subsequent class rooms to be picked up by their Sensei, eventually all but Teams 7, 8 and, 10 were all that remained, next Kurenai the Sensei of team 8 walked in wondering in thought at why Hinata was placed on Kakashi's team rather than hers but she put that thought to the side beaconing her newly founded team to follow her out of the room, glancing back at team 7 especially Hinata and apologizing about Kakashi's bad habit of always being late, next Asuma arrived and picked up yet another generation of the Ino, Shika, Cho trio before leaving with a pitiful chuckle telling team 7 they will be there for a while before Kakashi shows up.

"Many hours later"

Kakashi finally showed up with his signature perv book in hand giving his first impression of his team that being, "Of course I was assigned the only two man team we've had in 50 years, my first impression of you two being that you are lame, meet me up on the roof for introductions in 5." Kakashi said before activating the Shunshin No Jutsu (Body flicker technique) leaving a cloud of leaves as the only evidence that he was ever there in the first place.

With team 7 on the roof*

On the roof top of the academy Kakashi prepared to conduct introductions with his newly formed team.

"Introduce yourselves 1 at a time." Kakashi said with a bored tone…….. "Look I'll go First my name is Kakashi Hatake, my likes are none of your business, my dislikes are also none of your business, for future goals I haven't really thought about it, for Hobbies I do a lot of things, you emo go next." Kakashi said still with a bored tone In his voice. "My name is Sasuke Uchiha, I hate a lot of things, and I don't particularly like anything, *dramatically pans to Sasuke's brooding face* What I have is not a dream because I will make it a reality I'm going to restore my clan, and destroy a certain someone." *pans to Kakashi's face looking a little bored and correct In his assumptions, 'Just as I thought.' Kakashi said to himself in a sarcastic tone. "You shy girl." *Pans to Hinata", "U-Um I like sweet foods, I uh don't particularly hate anything." Hinata said shyly. "M-my dream… My dream is to bring Naruto back to the village!" Hinata said with determination shocking everyone including herself that the shy girl had so much determination within. Kakashi closed his book and put on a small smile visible through his mask "There is one more test before you officially become Genin meet me at training Field 7 tomorrow morning 7 am sharp and don't eat breakfast tomorrow, or you will throw it up." Kakashi said stoically giving the two almost Genin a small wave, using Shunshin no jutsu(Body flicker technique) once again disappearing in a cloud of leaves. With Sasuke's brooding demeanor and ambitions of vengeance blending with Hinata's Timid demeanor. Kakashi at first couldn't help but feel skeptical about the potential of his team that ended up 1 man short because their third teammate ditched the village out of fear and anger before he could even be told he had actually narrowly passed, Mizuki had also lied about that to the poor kid. However, Hinata's unexpected declaration sparked a glimmer of hope within the stoic white haired man, hinting at hidden depths within the seemingly timid girl that he hoped would, bring back Naruto whom he couldn't help feeling partially responsible for. As the leaves danced in the wind, the promise of tomorrow loomed on the horizon, left the Genin with thoughts brimming with the possibilities and uncertainty the future held.

"The next Morning."

An alarm clock set for 6:00 am started ringing about waking the timid young Hyuga from a weird dream that she pushed quickly pushed to the back of her mind as she got out of bed, and started preparing to meet up with her new Sensei and teammate for their final test, she walked into her personal wardrobe taking off her nightgown nearly folding it up placing it back in its place, throwing on her favorite pair of clothes, leaving her wardrobe and quietly shutting it behind her. On her way out of her room she encountered her father who scolded her for not living up to his expectations, and threatened to expel her from the clan if she couldn't even pass her Genin exam today, her Cousin Neji Hyuga was also with her father and left her with a little jab about how she is destined to fall, being a weak disappointment for the rest of her life because you cannot change destiny.

Sorry about this chapter being extremely dialogue Centric and somewhat short this chapter is another introduction to the cast chapter meaning there is going to be more dialogue than action here to set up who the cast and their motivations at the start of their adventures again we will have action I'm future chapters I am just setting it all up, be prepared for some action next Chapter because we have the Genin test, and some Naruto, Haki, and Zabuza stuff
