So it's been a while. That was not intentional but sorry anyway. The fight scenes stumped me because I can't for the life of me write a good fight. I am going to post all three of the last chapters together so the story will be complete.

Chapter 5: Changes on the Horizon
The following day dawned bright and early for the Warriors, Digidestined, and their comrades. They all looked around and saw that the Digimon was still digivolved. There were also some differences between both the Digimon and the Digidestined. The main thing that was different was the fact that some of the Digimon were smaller and some of the Digidestined were taller.
Looking around the area Tai spotted a city in the distance and pointed it out to the others. Gennai leaned over to look over Izzy's shoulder at the map he pulled up.
"It looks like that is where Machinedramon lives." Gennai said.
"Then I think it would be best to head there." Matt said, getting a nod of agreement from Tai and Davis.
As the group was walking they chatted about what was going on with the Digimon and the humans. Mimi and Yolei were trying to speculate about what each person would be turning into while their Digimon walked beside them trying to stay out of the conversation. Matt and Tai were listening to the conversation and sweatdropped at some of the ideas that the two girls had. Sora, Cody, Ken, Joe, and Kari were walking further behind the group at the back talking about what they could do when everyone was turned into digimon in terms of schooling and just living in the real world in general. In the middle of the group were TK, Gennai, and Davis with the rest of the digimon lost in thought.
Everyone stopped suddenly however when Mimi asked a question that the first group of digidestined were trying not to think about. "What about if Tai turned into SkullGreymon?"
That simple question froze Tai's blood. "Come on Mimi. I don't think that that's going to happen."
Mimi spun around and faced him, "Why not? For all we know it could. What then? Are we just going to ignore that possibility?"
Matt stepped between them to separate them. "No one is discounting anything but we also need to be realistic. Even if that happened it wouldn't change anything. Between Davis and TK if that did happen they could resolve it fast. But there is no way of knowing who would turn into what. Speculating about things won't speed anything up."
Crossing her arms over her chest Mimi turned back to the front and kept walking. Stepping up next to Tai and Matt, Takuya raised an eyebrow in a silent question. Tai sighed and answered the unspoken question "When Agumon first digivolved into ultimate he digivolved into SkullGreyman and it scared us. We had no idea of what was happening and suddenly there was an ally trying to attack us. I guess Mimi asking that question scared me. What if I turn into a SkullGreymon and lose control I could seriously hurt someone."
TK came up to Tai's other side wrapping an arm around him in a half hug and said "If you did lose control then we would stop you from hurting the others. It wouldn't be the first time that one of us lost control and tried to hurt someone. When I first came to the digital world I was manipulated into hurting others. I almost killed them multiple times. However, they never held that against me and we won't hold it against you if that happened."
" The first time that Takuya digivolved into his beast spirit he went on a rampage," Matt said. "He started a forest fire and almost killed Tommy. It was a near miss. If Tommy hadn't managed to connect with his human side he would have died."
Tai looked between Matt and Davis with a shocked look on his face before calling back to Joe "Is that true?"
Joe looked over to him from the conversation that he was having with the others to answer "Is what true?"
"Is it true that Takuya almost killed you when he first got his beast spirit?"
"Yeah, that was scary. But it worked out in the end and the next time he had control. It was a test done by the beast spirit to see if he could control it. We all had to do something like that, barring Kouichi and Zoe. Koji couldn't steer and JP couldn't aim right."
"As interesting as the conversation is, we've arrived." Gennai said suddenly.
Looking up at the city they could tell that the changes were sudden from a beautiful forest to a barren wasteland of machines and metal.
"Well here's hoping he's home to stop him and take down one of the Masters for now." Ken said.
The others nodded their heads in agreement before walking into the city. They hadn't gotten far when they heard Machinedramon.
"Hurry it up. Piedmon wants the last spirit found before those pesky digidestined get their hands on it."
"How lucky are you that you have one of the spirits in your city Machinedramon? Oh wait, I'm the lucky one because Piedmon entrusted me with the beast spirits."
The digidestined, digimon, and warriors looked at each other in shock. Puppetmon and Machinedramon were both here and so were the beast spirits.
"The only reason that you have the beast spirits was that the other warriors killed MetalSeadramon trying to get them back and he didn't want me having them while I'm trying to get the thunder spirit. Besides from what I've heard they keep trying to guilt trip. Something about them knowing him back when he was a rookie."
Signaling them to backup Davis led them into a building. "So both of them have spirits with them but Machinedramon is still trying to get the thunder spirit out of wherever it is. Also, Piedmon used to know them when he was a rookie." Izzy summed up.
"Pretty much. What are we going to do?" Yolei said.
"We split up. One group takes care of Puppetmon and gets the beast spirits back and the other group goes after the spirit of thunder." Gennai said.
"Who goes in what group?" Ken asks.
Just then there was a ding from Izzy's computer. "Ken, Cody, Kari, and I along with our digimon go after Beatlemon. Both of them have the chance of getting it while Kari and I take out Machinedramon. The rest of you go after Puppetmon." Izzy said, reading Davis's email.
TK looks over at Davis "Are you sure?"
"Positive. If we don't take both out at once they might have the chance to warn the other." He signed which Gennai translated.
Nodding Tai called out "Alright everyone clear?"
Getting nods of agreement from everyone he said one last thing before they split up "In one hour if the other group hasn't heard anything from the other we go looking for them. Stay safe everyone."
With those parting words, they split up. Heading towards the center of the city the thunder retrieval group stuck to the shadows following Machinedramon hoping he would lead them to the spirit. Weaving through the city they followed him into a large building. Inside the building was a large hole.
Grumbling to himself about narcissistic puppets he didn't hear them follow him down into the hole. At the bottom was a large cavern covered in metal with different paths. After weaving through a maze of lefts, rights, and centers they entered into a room with a large slab of steel. Etched into the metal was the symbol of thunder. Surrounding it was digimon trying to break into it. "Report." Machinedramon ordered.
"Well, sir. It doesn't matter how many digimon we make with the spires, nothing works." One brave digimon says walking over. " They barely leave a scratch on it. Some have even gotten shocked to the point it fries them. I think the only way we can get it open would be to have the digidestined to open it."
"Out of the question. They must never get their hands on it. If they do, I'll take you out with me when Piedmon hears about it." Machinedramon growled down at the digimon, a datamon, before turning and leaving. "Get that thing open no matter the cost." He said stomping out.
The digidestined darted into an adjoining room as he passed. Kari turned to look at Cody, Ken, and their digimon. "We'll go after Machinedramon. You guys take out the digimon and get Beetlemon."
Getting nods Kari and Davis left the room, darting after Machinedramon. Cody turned to Kan and said "No time like the present."
Digmon ran into the cave with a cry of "Gold Rush." releasing his drills and taking out some of the digimon in the room. Magnamon followed him in and released his magna blast taking out more of the digimon. Nefitarimon and Stingmon came in guarding Ken and Cody. Looking over at the digimon that was taken out, Stingmon said "They're all spire digimon."
"So it seems." Nefitarimon responded before unleashing her cat's eye beam, taking out more of them.
Ken and Cody looked at each other before nodding and darting over to the metal slab. Once they got there they could see that it was larger than they were and completely smooth other than the symbol. "How are we going to know who he's waiting for?" Cody asked.
"No clue," Ken responded. "The others never told us."
The two children circled the slab before coming back to the front.
"Did you see anything?" The former Digimon Emperor asked.
"Nothing."
"Me too. There's got to be something. Even if it's just some way to make it smaller to bring it back to the others if it's not for us."
No sooner had Ken said that than the symbol lit up in yellow light. A voice that sounded both old and young at the same time came from the light. "What makes you think that someone else is worthy of my power?"
Surprised at getting an answer from the digimon himself Ken looked over at Cody whose face held the same surprised expression the Child of Kindness thought was on his face, he turned back to the light.
"We weren't sure of who you were partnered with. The other warriors guessed who they thought was the best bet but weren't sure."
Chuckling, Beetlemon answered back, "Even if they weren't sure they were right. Lobomon and Agunimon were always the best at figuring it out, young JP or is it Ken now."
"Um, Ken."
"Very well. Would you like the power to help your friends without having to rely on others to fight your battles for you?"
Ken looked over at Cody standing next to him and hearing the battle cries of their partners and the spire digimon behind him, he turned back to the slab to answer.
Meanwhile with Kari and Davis
The duo followed Machinedramon for 10 minutes before he turned around towards them with a cry of "Giga cannon".
Davis and Kari jumped out of the way, shifting into Lobomon and Aldamon in the process. With a quick look at the other and a nod, they leapt into battle. Lobomon pulled out his swords and started attacking the machine-like dragon while Aldamon fired mini fireballs at him.
Machinedramon raised his arms in defense and was pushed back. Roaring at them, he shot missiles at them with a call of "Giga destroyer".
Aldamon flew in front of Lobomon and released more fireballs to detonate the missiles before they got hit.
"Thanks," Lobomon said. Aldamon nodded at him and both turned to face the "Evil" Master. Noticing that there wasn't much damage done to him they started to have second thoughts about being able to defeat him with just one Champion and one Ultamate-level Digimon.
Machinedramon snarled at them and said "Piedmon will be most pleased. Two digi-pests and a spirit. Where's the rest of you annoying pests?"
Lobomon glared at him and responded "Like we would tell you. We're going to take out both you and Puppetmon, take the spirits, and then go after Piedmon next."
Machinedramon laughed at them and went to attack again. "Giga can-". Stopping his attack he looked behind them fearfully. Turning around they saw a bright light surrounding them.
When it cleared Lobomon was Beowolfmon and the jagged scar across Aldamon's neck was healed. Not questioning their good fortune they attacked. Beowolfmon raised his sword and yelled "Frozen hunter."
At the same time, Aldamon raised his hands and gathered the energy together into a giant fireball and threw it forward with a cry of "solar wind destroyer."
Both attacks collided with Machinedramon destroying him. Aldamon shifted to Agunimon and purified his data. Watching the egg fly off to the primary village to be reborn, Beaowolfmon and Agunimon returned to human form.
Davis raised his hand to his throat and touched it. Coraking out "Kari." a voice hoarse from disuse the Child and Warrior of Light beamed at him hugging him. Just then they heard the pounding of armored feet and broke apart getting into battle-ready stances.
Then from around the corner came Bettlemon, a Digimon, and 5 very confused humans. One of them was a girl about 15 years old with blond hair and a pink and white dress that went to her knees and gold sandals. She had yellow eyes with kohl-like markings around her eyes and a gold gold-colored necklace on. Another boy about 15 with auburn hair and reddish brown eyes. He wore a green shirt with black from the elbows to the hands and black to green pants. He also wore black boots. Another boy is about 12 years old with shoulder-length blond hair and green eyes. He wore a purple shirt and yellow flannel with purple designs and yellow pants and boots. The last boy was about 15 years old with blue hair and red eyes. He wore a light blue shirt and blue jeans with a gold jacket, fingerless gloves, and gold knee-high boots.
"Whelp that happened. The battle went well with us, guess it went well with you guys as well. Also, side note, whatever Datamon did just finished." Bettlemon said.
