Final chapter. I hope that it is good though. I had no idea how to write the fight or how to end it.

Chapter 7: A clown from the past
The two groups met back in the center of the city to find that the other group had changed as well.
"So should we do a role call again? Because if so, I'm Digmon." said the boy in yellow and purple.
The Egyptian-looking teen rolled her eyes and said "Nefertimon."
The teen in green just raised his hand and said "Stingmon."
The last teen in the other group was talking to Davis and looked up when Stingmon nudged him. "Magnamon." was the only thing he said before going back to talk to Davis.
TK took out the totem for MetalKabuterimon, walked over to Ken, and handed it to him. "I'm guessing by the fact that since you're the only one on your team to have been human beforehand and not a known Warrior that your JP."
Ken looked at him and nodded. As soon as Ken touched the totem it turned to a light and flew into him. Not even 5 seconds later Joe broke the moment by saying "I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Piedmon has Gennai. We need to get him back."
The others nodded thinking back to the state that Davis was in when they found him after Piedmon got done with him. Izzy flew over to Joe and stated "That might be true but we have no idea where Piedmon has him or even where Piedmon is."
"Izzy's right as much as I hate to say it, there are lots of places that Piedmon might use." Tai said.
"The Rose Morning Star." A hoarse voice chipped in.
Everyone nearly jumped and turned to look at Davis with shocked looks on their faces.
"If I'm right Piedmon is going to take him to the Rose Morning Star. It was the sight of the fight with Cherubimon and someplace they both have an emotional attachment to if I'm correct about who Piedmon was. But by Seraphimon I hope I'm wrong."
Right as he finished saying that he started to cough. Kari handed him a bottle of water and turned to the others "All those that can fly should try to carry someone else that cannot. We need to get moving before Piedmon has a chance to do anything to Gennai."
Everyone nodded and got in groups. Velgamon took Stingmon, Pegasusmon, Nefertimon, Kari, and Shurimon. Mimi grabbed Lillymon, Cody grabbed Digmon and Joe. Sora took Birdramon, Greymon, Yolei, and Ken, Kazemon grabbed WereGarurumon, and Izzy grabbed Kabuterimon. AncientGreymon took Tai, Ikkakumon, and Magnamon. At the front of the group were AncientGreymon and Velgamon as they were the only ones who knew which way they had to go. In the middle of the group were Cody, Izzy, and Mimi so there were others in front or behind to help them. In the back were Sora and Kazemon since they wouldn't get tired quite as fast. As they were flying the ones that hadn't fought Piedmon before compared notes that had to try and come up with a game plan.
Meanwhile with Piedmon
Piedmon walked into his throne room looking around before walking behind his throne into a secret room. Closing the door behind him and walking over to a small cell that was in there he pulled out the Gennai keychain and placed it on the ground. Then he took out his handkerchief and tossed it over the keychain. When he removed it Gennai was lying on the ground. Piedmon sat back on a chain and waited for the digital human to wake.
After 5 minutes Gennai started to stir. Once he was awake he sat up and looked around. Seeing Piedmon there he backed up and asked "What do you want with me? Are you just using me as bait for the Digidestined and the Warriors?"
Piedmon chuckled at that "Oh no old friend quite the opposite in fact. I just rescued you from those fakes and the deplorable angels who claim that they care. Oh, they put in a token effort, just enough to make the digimon think that they care but they don't. If they did they would have saved the Warriors. They wouldn't have let them die and then given the spirits to new people. Those poor kids are just pawns in the game. And you old friend, they changed you. Made you think that it was your choice then changed you into a fake human and left you to get old then young then old again without a care in the world."
While Piedmon was ranting Gennai was trying to figure out what he meant and why Piedmon kept calling him old friend. Finally, he figured it out and his eyes went wide. "Bokomon? It can't be. I thought you died."
Piedmon turned to him, eyes alight with manic glee "So you remember me. They haven't brainwashed you completely. There's still a chance. Join me Neemon and you won't have to suffer under them anymore."
Gennai looked horrified by what it was that Piedmon was suggesting and shook his head in denial. "Impossible the Bokomon I knew would never have hurt Takuya like you did. Wouldn't have hurt only those innocents."
Piedmon leaned back and pulled out a sword and ran his finger down the blade in thought. "Takuya. No, I'd never hurt Takuya. That fake on the other hand. I had fun torturing him. It's what he gets for trying to take Takuya's place as the Warrior of Fire. There can only be one."
"You're mad. You've gone insane." Gennai said, coming up to the bars of the cell.
Piedmon put his sword back and tapped his chin "Maybe. But I'm not wrong."
Piedmon turned to walk out of the room and was shutting the door when Gennai yelled "Takuya survived the battle. The spirits saved him. That was Takuya you were hurting. The others have been reborn. Please stop this madness before it's too late."
Piedmon said one thing as he was shutting the door, trapping Gennai in darkness. "It's been too late for about 100 years at least."
Piedmon walked out onto the balcony just in time to see everyone land. Looking out onto Digidestined he had one thought in his mind "I will have my revenge on the angels that abandoned us." In the back of his mind, however, buried deep under the madness Bokomon cried out for anyone to save him from what he had become.
As the digidestined were walking into the castle they were trying to figure out the plan. There were 2 goals that they had: find Gennai and stop Piedmon. While they were flying to the Rose Morning Star Takuya shared with the Twin Warriors his fears about who Piedmon was but didn't want the others to know until they had to so they wouldn't hold back under some misguided belief that they could save their friend that became a monster. It was decided that the Warriors would face Piedmon while the other current digimon would act as a backup while the current humans would try to find Gennai.
The group that was going to fight Piedmon walked up to the throne room where they believed that he was going to be while the other team led by a GPS to the place where Cherubimon once kept Ophanimon. The group was hoping that sentiment would force the Dark Master to keep Gennai there but they weren't holding their breath. After all, if he was going to be bait it would make more sense to keep him close by.
Once the Warriors, still in human form, reached the throne room they found Piedmon lounging on the throne with a face and body language saying that he was disinterested in those that just walked in. Both groups faced the crazed clown, didn't speak, and didn't attack. To anyone who didn't know the story, it might look like the clown was a jester pretending or a king who didn't care about his subjects facing down someone who was aiming to overthrow the king and instead found the court jester or a king who didn't even acknowledge them. To those who know the story, it would appear a group of elite knights with their platoon standing against someone they once trusted who now fancies himself king.
In truth that is what was happening.
Piedmon broke the silence first "Yes? Is there something that I can help you with?"
"Hand over yourself and free Gennai." Takuya said this was truly Takuya. The leader of the Warriors stared down the king and begged with his eyes for his once friend to do the right thing.
Piedmon just laughed at him and said "What makes you think that you have the right to order me around? You are nothing but kids who are made to believe that you're Warriors when you're nothing but fakes. The real Warriors died years ago, long before you were even born."
Takuya closed his eyes for a moment letting a single tear slip out for the loss of his friend he wasn't aware lived through the battle of hell, then opened them with ice and steel in his gaze before ordering the attack. TK and Kari on either side squeezed his shoulders before Kouichi and Koji changed into Beowolfmon and Duskmon preparing for the fight. On Beowolfmon's side were MetalKabuterimon and Korikakumon. On the other side of Duskmon were Zephyrmon. In the middle of them was Aldamon standing ready to fight but waiting to see what Piedmon would do first.
The crazed clown pulled out his swords and threw them with a cry of "Trump Sword."
MetalKabuterimon and Korikakumon worked together using "Proton Slam Avalanche Axes". The attack was missed by just a hair but before they could try again Piedmon used "Clown Trick" and sent it right back at them. This caused them to slam into a wall behind them.
After 10 minutes of fighting, they were starting to wear him down but they had been worn down as well when the rest of the Warriors showed up turning the tide of the battle in their favor.
Meanwhile, the rescue group had searched a good portion of the castle but had still yet to find Gennai. They stopped in a hallway two rooms and three floors down from the fighting. The group was debating where they should go next to search, having cleared the lower floors but hesitant to go to an upper floor so they wouldn't get caught in the fighting when the rock that Ikkakumon was sitting on shifted and opened a door behind him.
Nefertimon walked over to where the door was and looked down at the former seal like digimon turned human and said "Good job." before stepping over him and walking into the secret passage.
The others followed her with Greymon grabbing a torch that was hanging on the wall so they could see in the dark. Kabuterimon stopped to help Ikkakumon up.
Ikkakumon grumbled "So glad I could help." sarcastically before following the others.
The passage was twisting and long but there were many more rooms that couldn't be accessed from the outside corridor that they checked. Every now and again they would stop to listen to the fight in the hopes that it would end soon as they all felt useless being unable to fight. At one point they heard Duskmon and Beowolfmon getting thrown and Nefertimon had to hide her face in Pegasusmon's shirt at the idea of her kitten fighting without even knowing that Kari would be fine.
Eventually, they reached a set of stairs leading up and had to make a decision if they wanted to go up or not. Most of the group wanted to so they went up so they went up. When they went up they found a door. Opening the door they found the room that Gennai was in. Kabuterimon and Shurimon went to the cage and picked the lock, letting him out.
Gennai was filling them in when the castle shoke. Gennai led them out of the room into the throne room where there was a bright light. When the light faded all three of the Celestial Angeles were there. The Warriors knelt in front of the angels with Gennai. Piedmon tried to attack them but was stopped by Crusaidermon and Dynsmon who forced him to kneel. The digidestined and their partners followed the example of the Warriors and knelt as well. "Rise children there is no reason that you have to kneel. If it wasn't for you defeating Apocalymon we wouldn't be here."
Piedmon looked up at them in anger and spat "You're lying. You never cared about anyone but yourselves. You sent them like lambs to slaughter and don't care. Just like you sent the Warriors to their deaths."
Cherubimon looked down at the clown with sadness etched on his face at the thought that he left him alone after the battle. Seraphimon was mad that someone he thought of as a father at one point hated them all so much. Ophanimon put her hand in front of Seraphimon to stop him and her other one on Cherubimon's shoulder in comfort. Then she turned to jester on the ground and signaled the knights to let him up. When he went to attack her, she held her javelin in front of her and said with a voice tinged with kindness despite what she looked like she was going to "Eden's Javelin. "
When the light faded Piedmon was lying on the ground. The Angel of Light, Love, and Life turned to the digidestined and held out her hands. In them were the crests which went to their chosen. Yolei and Cody had ones that had their egg symbols on them. When the digidestined grabbed them, they felt themselves change. When the sensations passed they were back to being human. Cherubimon spoke first "We made it so that as long as you wear them you can choose what you are."
Seraphimon spoke next "We would have them done sooner but we had to wait for all the Warriors to be bonded again."
Ophanimon spoke last "We also had to wait for the transition to be complete. Once it was we could give them. I also healed Takuya so that there is not as hard a transition when you go back."
Tai spoke up "Thank you we know that it has been a little bit since we left. But what about Piedmon and the spire digimon?"
Seraphimon answered "Not as much time has passed as you would think. This section of the digital world is still out of sync with the world. As for the spire digimon, we will see if it is possible for them to be able to function as any other digimon. If they are unable to, we will deal with them."
"As for Piedmon, I've healed the evil in his heart so we will have to see if it is possible for him to be redeemed. If he can be, he will be working with Gennai as a liaison." Ophanimon said.
"But for now children. I think it would be best if you went home. I'm sure your parents are worried about you." Cherubimon said.
"I'm sure we'll meet again, children." Seraphimon said.
The digidestined hugged Gennai and then the angels made a portal. After they went through the portal they landed in a pile on Izzy's floor. After they untangled themselves Izzy's mom came in.
"I thought you guys were going to look for TK and Davis in the digital world. It's only been an hour." She said walking in. When she saw them all in there she offered to call their parents to come get them.
3 weeks after they got back they got an email from Gennai. There was one line "Thank You." No one needed any explanation though. They all knew it meant that Piedmon had been redeemed and they were friends again.
