I apologize for this uneventful chapter I just wanted to update this story and here it is!
Disclaimer: I do NOT own Naruto. This is merely a fanfic.
Upon their arrival at the Mizukage tower, Mei instructed her assistant Ao to show Kakashi to his room while she personally escorted Tsunade to hers. As they entered the room meticulously prepared for Tsunade, she couldn't help but be struck by its prestige and impeccable organization.
The space exceeded her expectations; it wasn't just a room but more akin to a mini apartment. Each area was thoughtfully laid out, with distinct sections for a bathroom, kitchen, and sitting area. However, it was the sight of the king-sized bed that brought a glimmer of joy to Tsunade's eyes.
Positioned to overlook the serene beauty of the Mist village, the room boasted floor-to-ceiling windows that served as walls, offering an uninterrupted view of the night sky. The village below glimmered softly in the moonlight, a tranquil contrast to the bustling cityscape during the day. It was a sight that filled Tsunade with a sense of peace and contentment, a perfect sanctuary amidst the chaos of their duties.
Lost for words at the sight, Tsunade managed to mutter out "Lady Mizukage this room is incredible, I've never seen a guest suite this big!"
Mei chuckled hearing the excitement in Tsunade's voice similar to that of a child who just got a new toy. "Well, I'm glad you seem to like it so much. It's the least I could do to thank you, especially after the long trip you endured to get here" Mei said while smiling sheepishly.
"Well, it certainly surpasses anything I could offer you at the Leaf" Tsunade said bringing her hand to her face while letting out a laugh. Mei couldn't help but laugh alongside her, how could she not? It was impossible not to laugh when The Hokage had such a cute contagious laugh.
"Cute?." Mei stopped herself. "Cute?." Mei thought to herself cringing at the word. Why would the word "Cute" even cross her mind while laughing with a colleague… Mei erased the thought as she heard Tsunade's laugh slowly subside.
"I know it's a little late, Tsunade-Sama, but I had my chefs prepare some hot chicken noodle soup as a welcome meal," Mei interjected, eager to shift the focus away from her momentary lapse. "Would you like me to have it delivered here to your room" Her voice was composed and professional, masking any hint of her earlier self-doubt. Mei was determined to ensure Tsunade's comfort and well-being, even if it meant stepping out of her comfort zone to offer a gesture of hospitality.
The Mizukage watched as Tsunade's eyes lit up yet again and listened as she said, "Lady Mizukage, you really outdid yourself preparing all this for me! And that soup, It sounds wonderful right about now."
"Very well then, I will let you settle down and Unpack while I go get that soup for you," Mei said with a teasing smile
It was as if Tsunade's world paused for a second and the only thing she could see was the Mizukage's big bright smile. She now understood why everyone had told her about the beauty of Mei Terumi, it was captivating. A beauty so beautiful it rivaled that of her own, and she wasn't afraid to admit it. However, reality quickly intruded upon her reverie as Tsunade's mind snapped back to the present as she remembered something. She had forgotten all her stuff on the boat! Unable to control her annoyance she put her hand to her temple while resting her body on one hip.
Mei noticing her clear frustration asked, "Is everything alright Lady Tsunade?"
"Well, I seem to have forgotten my luggage on the boat," replied Tsunade.
Silence. Tsunade knew going out right now and getting her stuff would be useless as all the rooms on the boat would be locked and that made her feel even more annoyed. She took a seat on the very soft almost cloudlike bed and threw her head to her hands, had the Mizukage not been there she probably would have ripped her hair out. She felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up when the Mizukage said
"There isn't a problem without a solution Lady Tsunade, you should know that. No need to beat yourself up over it," said Mei with a comforting smile. "We look about the same size so how about I let you borrow some of my clothing until we are able to retrieve yours tomorrow?"
Tsunade couldn't believe how friendly and patient the Mizukage was, Had it been her guest who had forgotten their stuff on a creaky old boat she sure as hell wouldn't have lent her own sweet clothing.
"Lady Mizukage you truly are too kind, I am so very sorry for this unprofessional inconvenience," Tsunade said while looking up at the Mizukage feeling embarrassed.
"Nonsense! It was an honest mistake and I understand that so you shouldn't worry yourself anymore. Now, how about you settle down and I go bring you some clothing and your food." Said Mei as she began to walk towards the door
"I'll do just that. Thank you Lady Mizukage" Tsunade said as she watched Mei give her a warm smile before closing the door behind her
Tsunade's gaze lingered upon the wooden door, her mind drifting in a sea of thoughts. She couldn't believe how unexpectedly nice the Mizukage had been. It wasn't that she ever thought the Mizukage would be some grumpy old lady, but the genuine kindness took her by surprise. It got her thinking—would she be as kind and generous if the roles were reversed? That was a tough one to chew on.
But what really bugged her was this strange fascination with the Mizukage's beauty. It wasn't like Tsunade hadn't seen plenty of gorgeous women before, but there was something different about the Mizukage that made her stand out. It was like her mind kept wandering back to that, and she couldn't just shake it off. She hadn't even realized how long she'd been lost in her thoughts until a knock broke the silence. Startled, Tsunade straightened up, blinking away her reverie. She stood up and said, "Come in!"
Tsunade observed as the Mizukage entered the room, gracefully carrying a bundle of neatly folded clothes in one hand and a steaming bowl of soup in the other. With a gentle gesture, the Mizukage placed the soup on the coffee table, filling the room with its aromatic warmth. Turning towards Tsunade, she extended her arms, offering the clothes with a warm smile.
"I found some clothes I think you'll be comfortable in, I really do hope they're okay," Mei said as Tsunade received the clothes
"These are more than okay don't worry about it," Said Tsunade placing the clothes down carefully on the bed "I do appreciate how kind you've been to me tonight Lady Mizukage. Thank you." Tsunade said as she offered a small bow
"What I've done tonight isn't nearly as much as what you've come to do for my village and people. So thank you, Lady Tsunade," Mei expressed sincerely, her bow even lower
Mei glanced at the clock hanging above Tsunade's bed and noted with a hint of concern that it was well past midnight. "It is getting rather late, and I wouldn't want to keep you up any longer, Milady," she remarked.
"Oh, I didn't even realize how much time had passed," remarked Tsunade. "Well than, I wouldn't want to keep you up any later and we do have a long day ahead of us tomorrow so I won't hold you here any longer," She said
"Very well then, Madam. Please, if you need anything, there is an assigned Anbu outside your door, so don't be afraid to ask for anything," Mei reassured Tsunade before making her way towards the door
"I will. Oh, and thank you for the soup, it smells delicious" Tsunade said with an eye-closing smile.
"You're welcome, Lady Tsunade," Mei replied returning the smile before gracefully closing the door behind her.
Tsunade turned her attention to the bed, where the clothes brought by the Mizukage sat. With a curious yet appreciative glance, she picked up the bundle, unraveling the layers to reveal a silk navy blue nightgown, the signature color of the Mizukage, accompanied by a beige robe. The elegance of the ensemble was undeniable, a testament to the Mizukage's refined taste and attention to detail.
A soft chuckle escaped Tsunade's lips as she examined the nightgown, noting its shorter length with amusement. It was a far cry from her usual attire of 'tank tops and shorts', yet she couldn't deny its appeal, especially given the sweltering heat of the Mist village summer.
Deciding to embrace the unexpected gift, Tsunade slipped into the nightgown, feeling the smooth silk caress her skin with a delicate touch. The fabric draped gracefully around her frame, offering a sense of comfort and luxury that she hadn't anticipated. Adjusting the robe around her shoulders, she made her way to the living room, where the tantalizing aroma of the soup beckoned her.
Settling onto the couch, Tsunade couldn't help but inhale deeply, the scent of the soup enveloping her senses with its rich and savory fragrance. With eager anticipation, she reached for the bowl, savoring the warmth of the soup against her skin as she prepared to indulge in its delicious embrace.
She couldn't deny that she was rather hungry but she didn't think she was hungry enough to finish the soup in under 5 minutes. She got up from the couch, picked up her plate the warmth of the bowl lingering in her hands, and headed to the kitchen. She placed the bowl in the sink and began to wash it, the cold water making her muscles relax. She placed the bowl in the rack for it to dry as she began to explore the kitchen. It was a luxurious kitchen indeed. With marble-topped white wooden cabinets and silverware everywhere. She headed towards the fridge and opened it, she was surprised to see the fridge was completely full from top to bottom. She noticed a note on the cabinet nearest to the fridge picked it up and began to read
"Lady Tsunade, I know this isn't enough to last you your stay here but I hope this can satisfy at least some of your needs."
She placed the note back down and as she stood in the luxurious kitchen, surrounded by abundance, Tsunade couldn't help but marvel at the Mizukage's selflessness. In her position, she admitted, she would have delegated such tasks to her assistant, Shizune. Yet, here stood proof of the Mizukage's genuine care and consideration, a warmth spread through Tsunade's chest, a feeling of connection and appreciation for the woman who had gone above and beyond to make her feel welcome. With a soft smile, Tsunade whispered to herself, "She really is something else, isn't she?" It was a sentiment that resonated deeply within her, a testament to the bond that had formed between them in the span of just a few moments.
Tsunade emerged from the kitchen, flicking off the lights as she made her way to her bed. Fatigue weighed heavily upon her, her body craving the solace of sleep. She sat upright on the bed and began to untie her hair. She ran her hands through her soft long blonde hair before getting in a comfortable position to sleep in. Settling into a comfortable position, Tsunade nestled herself beneath the covers, the plush mattress and heavy duvet enveloping her in a cocoon of warmth. She lay on her back, gazing up at the blank expanse of the white ceiling. The only illumination in the penthouse came from the faint glimmer of moonlight filtering through the windows, casting ethereal shadows across the room. Closing her eyes, Tsunade allowed herself to succumb to the embrace of sleep, her mind drifting into a realm of tranquility. The weight of exhaustion washed over her, pulling her deeper into the depths of slumber. At that moment, amidst the hushed stillness of the night, the only thought that lingered in her mind was the anticipation of the fatigue awaiting her come morning. And with that fleeting thought, she surrendered to the embrace of sleep, drifting effortlessly into its tranquil depths.
Author here! Thank you guys so much for reading my story! I know it isn't the best and it seems a little rushed but I lost the doc where I had my ideas for this chapter and I can't seem to remember them :(
But please let me know if I should fix anything or add something! Also, am I the only one that feels like Tsunade and Mei don't sound like themselves in this? If not, please leave a review and let me know so I can work on learning how to write their characters better. THANK YOU! ;)
