Allen used his innocence to attack the demon. "She will not be going anywhere!"
"Both of you!" Sister Irene called. "Hold the demon off! I have to protect the relic the nuns told me about!"
"Take the relic if need be!" Allen cried.
"You know where it is!" Rin yelled. "TAKE IT!"
The two fought the demon as Sister Irene descended into the darkness, passing the "God Ends Here" warning.
As she went, she heard the sounds of clicking and crawling like a large centipede was stalking her. As her eyes began to adjust she saw a man, twisted like a centipede, stalking her in the shadows.
"A nun…" Kaneki growled. "Didn't you see the warning? God can't help you down here. I shall have to reward my demons."
"What…are you?" Sister Irene queried. "Did you come from the Gehenna Gate?"
"No…" Kaneki smirked. "I'm no demon. I'm human…at least part. But as you can see…" He coiled his centipede body around her. "I've outgrown my humanity."
"But that's…have you killed demons…?"
Kaneki tilted his head at her, putting it on her shoulder. "Yes. Hundreds…Thousands. I like humans better. Your warm, and best of all…" He licked her. "On the menu."
Unafraid, Sister Irene glared at him. "Think about it. Your not exactly a monster. This form reminds me of Allen's hand. It's red, and has a glowing green center. You're not a monster or a ghoul…you're an exorcist."
