On the day of the big concert, John-Dory had called in a favor with an old friend to get backstage passes so they could get to the dressing rooms without being stopped by security. Of course, the plan had to wait until after the concert to talk to her, as even riding in Rhonda to the stadium was already packed full of trolls.

Finding their designated spots near the front, they'd wait for the concert to start, with Poppy trying and failing to hide her excitement."I can't believe we get to watch Golden Canary live!" she'd squeal as Branch fondly rolled his eyes. "Calm down, Poppy; the show hasn't even started yet." He reminds her as Brozone and Poppy watch as the stage lights dim and the backstage crew prepares for Canary's entrance. "We still have some time for you to fangirl," He'd tease his girlfriend.

The speakers kick on at that moment, filling the packed stadium with rhythm as the lights go out on stage. Before Branch or any of his brothers were ready for it, the lights would come back on and focus on one troll standing in the middle of the stage, wearing a white dress with her signature golden canary stitched on it. As she turns around, causing her high ponytail to whip behind her as she gets into position, music begins to play in the background, and the lights start to dim once more so everyone can see the lights coming off the stage. After a moment's pause, she'd begin singing the first verse with a voice so sweet and clear that it was apparent why everyone called her The Golden Canary.

"To think I'm so naïve

How dare you play with me?

I gave you heart and soul, yeah

Tell me baby, please

Why you screwing with my head?

I don't think you understand

I won't take your (huh) no more

Don't knock on my door.

Floyd's face fills with a deep sadness as the words ring throughout the crowd. He realizes the song was one of the songs they had come up with together while dating. He doesn't have much time to think about the past as the next part of the verse begins as Harmony, better known as Canary on stage, turns around. Her backup dancers move in sync with her as the choreography beautifully conveys every last bit of the song. She uses her hair to wrap around one of her backup dancers, using the momentum to spin the female troll into the arms of one of the guys before whipping her head back to keep all the other dancers at bay as if putting them in their place.

"Not this time, because I recognize

I've heard it all before, and I-I-I.

The lights follow every step Canary takes as she takes charge of every inch of the stage, putting on the show she promised her fans.

"Think of all the time that I wasted

Think of all the times that I took you back

Ain't no way I'll be lonely

I don't want to let you back in

Let's just face it

I'm better off alone, and I won't turn back

You thought that I would be lonely

I don't want to let you back in."

Canary crosses her arms in an x, shaking her head no as she saunters closer to the edge of the stage.

"Don't tell me how to feel

Or say that you're for real

My mind's made up; I'm cool without you

You got no more appeal

Now, this girl need no man

To say what she can do what she can't

Now I live for me

Boy, does that make you weep?"

Canary whips back around, her ponytail trailing behind her like a flag as she goes back to the center of the stage, ignoring the backup dancers trying to catch her eye just like they were a bunch of fanboys.

"Not this time because I realize

I've heard it all before, and I-I-I."

Canary pauses at the center of the stage, turning around as she holds a hand to her chest as if her heart is breaking

"Think of all the time that I wasted

Think of all the times that I took you back

Ain't no way I'll be lonely

I don't want to let you back in

Let's just face it

Better off alone, and I won't turn back

You thought that I would be lonely

I don't want to let you back in."

As she sang out the last sentence in the verse, the center of the stage began to lift, slowly putting Canary higher than the backup dancers.

"Think of times

You made me cry

You had me so confused

I'm tired of trying

Leave behind this

What's a girl to do?"

She cried out in her song, arm reaching outward as if trying to get answers from the crowd, who ate it up with even louder screams than before.

"I think of all the times you made me sick

I used to think I couldn't handle it

What you think? I'm just another chick?

Messed with me, boy; you must have tripped

What were you thinking when you lost my trust?

You had it all; now you're left with nothing

Ooh, baby, now I know you want my touch

And now you're lonely, and you still want me."

She croons to the crowd, winking as she does a mini spin so Canary faces another part of her crowd. She got so lost in the song that she had no idea that the boy she once loved was now a man watching her perform with a forlong expression on his face as he and his brothers realized that the song was more than just about Floyd but also about the fact that the rest of the brothers in the band, minus Branch, had shattered her fragile trust as well.

"Think of all the time that I wasted

Think of all the times that I took you back

Ain't no way I'll be lonely

I don't want to let you back in

Let's just face it

Better off alone, and I won't turn back

You thought that I would be lonely

I don't want to let you back in

Think of all the time that I wasted

Think of all the times that I took you back

Ain't no way I'll be lonely

I don't want to let you back in

Let's just face it

Better off alone, and I won't turn back

You thought that I would be lonely

I don't want to let you back in!"

As the last word began to fade, the platform she was standing on began to descend, so she was once more flat on the ground with her backup dancers behind her. "Thank you so much, you guys!" She'd cry out to her fans. "That song was dedicated to someone I loved a long time ago, but before I go, I got one more song for all of you!" She tells everyone as the hype begins to get even stronger than before. Canary gets into position once more, her dancers in a semi-circle behind her with her in the middle as the beat changes to another one of her songs.

"Hush, just stop

There's nothing you can do or say, baby

I've had enough

I'm not your property as from today, baby

You might think that I won't make it on my own

But"

She shoots her fist into the air, her backup dancers following her move as many in the crowd follow her example as they get lost in the rhythm.

"Now I'm stronger than yesterday

Now, it's nothing but my way

My loneliness ain't killing me no more

I, I'm stronger!"

As she belts out the lyrics, her fist shoots down to put a hand on her chest to convey what she is saying to her audience.

"Come on, now

Oh, yeah."

She sings as she loses herself even further to the beat and rhythm of her song as Canary smoothly flows from dance to dance. It took hours of practice to effortlessly transition between each planned dance move.

"Here I go, on my own

I don't need nobody. Better off alone

Here I go, on my own now

I don't need nobody, not anybody

Here I go, alright, here I go."

As she sings those lines, Floyd's heart breaks even further along with Branch's, saddened to hear her confessing how she didn't need anyone anymore while John-Dory, Bruce, and Clay tried comforting their brothers.

"Stronger than yesterday

It's nothing but my way

My loneliness ain't killing me no more

I, I'm stronger

Now I'm stronger than yesterday

Now, it's nothing but my way

My loneliness ain't killing me no more

Now I'm stronger than yesterday

Now, it's nothing but my way

My loneliness ain't killing me no more (no more)

I, I'm stronger!"

As the last line is finished, the glowing reaches its apex, momentarily blinding the crowd before the light fades to show Canary standing there with a bright smile. "Thank you so so much! I hope you enjoyed tonight as much as I have!" She cheers to the crowd before the lights go out on stage as she makes her way off the stage.

John-Dory reminds them they must get backstage, so he leads the group to the VIP-only section of the concert hall that leads straight to the dressing rooms and backstage area.

As they followed the directions of one of the crew, they found themselves at a door that had the name Golden Canary carved into it. Apprehension fills the air as Branch decides to take the first step by knocking on the door, his knuckles against the wood reverberating through the quiet hallway before they could hear a "Come in!" Being called out from inside the room.

Branch takes a deep breath before slowly opening the door, his brothers and Poppy behind him. He sees Harmony at her dressing table, brushing her long, shiny hair with her eyes closed. "What's up, Willow? Does a fan need me to sign something?" She asks, not realizing she wasn't talking to who she thought she was.

When she didn't hear a reply, she'd open her eyes only to freeze completely, her eyes locked in the mirror that she never thought she'd see again. "B-Branch?" She whispers, tears filling her eyes as she sets the brush down and whips her head around to look at him face to face. "Is that you?" She asks, hopeful as she stands up and slowly makes her way over to him, her hands shaking as she places them on his face before she pulls him into a tight hug and begins sobbing, "I thought you were dead!" She cried brokenly, holding him tightly as Branch did his best to calm her as she clung to him as if he would disappear at any moment.

"I can't believe you are all grown up," she sniffles before moving her head to look up at him. It was a weird experience being the one to look up to look at Branch's face instead of having to look down. "You've gotten so big," She remarks before she finds herself face to face with Queen Poppy, who seemed to be practically excited. It seemed she could not hold herself back anymore as she shoved her face between the two trolls with a wide grin.

Poppy introduces herself to the girl who, in all ways but blood, was Branch's older sister. "Hi there, I'm Poppy Branch's Girlfriend. It's so nice to meet you finally, and I hope we can be best friends!" She rambles on, talking so fast one could hardly understand her.

Harmony chuckles as she settles a hand on Poppy's shoulder. "It's nice to meet you, Poppy." She tells the younger girl before she notices someone she never thought she'd see again behind Branch. "John-Dory, Clay, Spruce?! What are you guys doing here?" She asks in shock, not expecting to see them with Branch. "It's Bruce now," Bruce tells her, "and we heard you were doing a show, and we had to come see you!" He tells her with a happy smile on his face.

She pauses, her smile slipping from her face. "When you mean we…." She stopped when she finally saw the one troll she was dreading to see, her eyes widening as she took a small step back. "Floyd?" She whispered, her voice cracking as she could feel tears forming in her eyes as the light blue troll with magenta and white hair passed past his brothers to get closer to her. "Harmony, I've seen you have become a songbird," He awkwardly jokes as he tries to think of ways to prevent her from crying.

Hearing that old nickname had her reeling back, anger soon replacing the sad expression as she clenched her fists. "Don't call me that!" She growls, "You lost that right when you left me without a goodbye or an explanation!" She snaps at him as she finally turns her back on him.

She was more than happy to ignore his existence if it meant avoiding the pain she was going to feel once he left her again.

"Harmony…." He starts to say before pausing. "I'm sorry; I know nothing I say or do can make up for what I did all those years ago. But I'm here now and want to make things right." He tells her before he is interrupted by a sharp laugh from Harmony,

"Ha! Make things right? How are you going to do that, Floyd? Run away again when things get too rough for you?" She mocks him with all the pent-up anger in her heart. She kept her back to him just so she could avoid looking into his eyes, the same eyes she fell in love with and those very eyes that haunted her every night.

"I regret what I did all those years ago. It was wrong of me, but I was young and stupid then. It's different now; I'M different now… Please, Harmony… One more chance?" He begs her as he gently grabs her hand, having been moving closer during their whole argument so he could touch her after all these years of being separated.

A knock would be heard before Harmony could respond to his plea as someone new entered the room to shatter the fragile peace starting to form.

(I hope you enjoyed this chapter; writing was a real pleasure, and I can already sense people getting their pitchforks ready... Before you maime me know it gets better, y'all, I promise! The songs I used in this chapter are Lonely and Stronger by Britney Spears, which helped inspire this story. Remember, everyone, you are amazing, loved, and so much stronger than you know!)
