Chapter 55: Kanzen Bi's abilities
Ashura and Kanzen Bi slammed into each other as the impact shook the entire battlefield while Ania stared deep into Mitch's black and red eyes wondering if he was entirely in control of himself. Almost as if he could tell what she was thinking he looked back at her "Don't worry the hollow is buried and chained back up so I won't go berserk on you". "That's reassuring I don't exactly want to be all beaten up like last time" she said Shunpoing away from one of his strikes reappearing a few meters back as Mitch slung Ashura onto his shoulder "How about we see a few more new techniques of yours?" "If you insist then" Ania began to twirl Kanzen Bi around "That won't work on me again" Mitch readied himself to avoid the poisonous barbs assuming it was the same ability as last time.
"Bara Ansatsusha" instead of the flowers being fired off as projectiles they stopped midair swirling around each other before interlocking together to create a creature made entirely out of rose petals and wielding a saber made from the petals. "Rose Assassin a creature made entirely out of rose petals and virtually undestroyable by regular attacks".
"I'll take you up on that challenge" flames rose up around Mitch as he leapt forward bringing Ashura cleaving down slicing the flower warrior in half sending the petals scattering everywhere. In a matter of seconds they flew back together and the torso was reformed as Bara swung its blade towards Mitch's throat at a super-fast speed giving him a split second to react blocking the strike with Ashura.
"I'm impressed that weapon is more durable than it appears along with your warrior but there's still a way to defeat it" slicing Ashura through the air five fireballs hurtled towards Bara "Simply burn it until nothing remains". Twirling its blade around a huge torrent of wind raced out blowing all the fireballs out as Mitch whistled "Counter measures to its weakness nice".
Bara vanished in a gust of wind as Mitch stood completely still with his eyes closed feeling the flower warrior darting around him with violent gusts of winds attempting to throw off where it was planning to strike from. Reappearing to his right Bara thrust the sword tip towards Mitch's neck as he opened his eyes swiveling at the last second avoiding the strike before cutting its sword arm off and pointing the tips of his other hand towards the flower warrior.
"Destructive Art 54: Abolishing Flames" a purple projectile shot out from his fingertips striking Bara as it exploded into flames burning off its left arm and leg. The burnt petals returned to Ania's blade as its right arm regenerated unleashing a violent glare forced wind that threw Mitch back. "You won't get to regenerate that easily" Mitch pushed against the force of the wind stopping in the air as his zanpakuto began to glow a mixture of icy blue and red, "Hyouketsu jigoku yakedo kyuuten" swinging Ashura down a combined mixture of fire and ice burst forth from his zanpakuto swirling through the air before combining together as it engulfed the rose warrior.
The ice hit first freezing Bara in place before the flames completely consumed it leaving nothing but smoldering ashes as they floated back towards Ania attaching back onto Kanzen Bi. "Since when could you utilize ice?" she said raising a eyebrow as Mitch shrugged his shoulders "Just happens to be one of my bankai abilities although Ashura really hates when I use it".
"Back to business then" Ania said stabbing Kanzen Bi into the ground as she jumped up and used one foot to push herself off the spear propelling forward and catching Mitch off guard landing a roundhouse to his jaw. Staggering back from the blow a punch caught him square in the stomach followed by one in the sternum "Not bad" he growled fist clenched as red electricity began to crackle.
Bringing his fist up Ania assumed he was going for a punch and jumped back not expecting a bala blast which moves so fast she did not even have time to react sending her crashing onto the ground just near Kanzen Bi. "Ugh what just hit me" groaning she sat up to find Mitch already standing in front of her with his hand outstretched and a cero blast charging up.
Rolling to the left she grabbed Kanzen Bi and jumped to her feet firing a point blank Juunsui Yuga blast throwing Mitch back cancelling out his cero blast as he went slamming into a rock wall sending debris crashing down on top of him. Exploding from the rubble Mitch felt Ania's reiatsu surging high above as he glanced up to find an almost angelic like aura surrounding Ania as she held Kanzen Bi high into the sky "Batsu Kamen-butouka".
Hurling Kanzen Bi down towards the ground it began to glow a bright pink and black colour before embedding itself just in front of Mitch as a ripple of green reiatsu burst forth from it and covered the entire ground. "Ummm what is supposed to happen?" Mitch awkwardly stood there before there was a tremor beneath him and two giant fists composed of earth burst up from the ground grabbing both his arms and holding him in place.
"Son of a bitch these things are durable" Mitch growled thrashing about as his reiatsu was fluctuating too much to even attempt to use it to shatter the hands. "A little tied up here we are?" Ania landed directly in front of him a playful smile on her face "You could say, what exactly are you planning to do to me?" "Mmmm well you're about to find out real soon" Ania purred running a finger gently down Mitch's cheek as she nipped his ear.
"You've got to be kidding me another desire illusion that you control" he grumbled as Ania trailed her finger along his jawline "It's not me controlling your desires this is all you, it's what you subconsciously desire in physical form" she whispered into his ear. "So, what you're saying is that I desire you?" Mitch looked confused almost like he wasn't paying attention to Ania as he glanced around "Where are you looking, I'm right here" Ania placed both hands on Mitch's torso pressing her body up against him as she leaned right in to kiss him on the lips before pausing "Oh? There's someone else here".
Hearing her say that caused every single muscle in Mitch's body tense up as he pulled against his bindings trying to break free "Why are you fighting after all you desire someone else to join in on the fun, question is just who this other person is". A woman around the same height as Ania with the same porcelain white skin stepped out, the similarities ended there though as she had silver blonde hair, piercing green eyes and a less voluptuous figure more of an athletic build to her body.
"My, my who is this mysterious person she's just my type" Ania started to walk over to the woman but paused as black reiatsu started to swirl up around Mitch as every muscle in his body was straining to break free. "Don't you want to stay in this paradise with me and her, after all it's what you truly desire don't fight it" "GET ME OUT OF HERE!" Mitch roared as the black reiatsu shattered the arms and an explosion of fire shattered the illusion as Ania stood there shocked at what just happened.
"There wasn't lust or desire at all for that woman but something more akin to anger" Ania thought and was just about to ask Mitch who she was but he had shunpoed in front of her his hand flying out and clamping around her throat as he lifted Ania high into the air. "Don't ever do that again!" he snarled eyes flaring red as he tossed her to the side "Right mental note his own desires are a sore point" Ania rubbed her throat before standing back up.
She could feel his reiatsu fluctuating as the black reiatsu seemed to be consuming him more than normal but could feel it was not his hollow in control he just currently did not have a hold on his emotions. "Should we err stop?" Ania hesitating to continue lest his inner hollow was unleashed but Mitch answered her question by charging forward swinging Ashura down as she leapt back avoiding the strike and yet he lunged after her reigning blow after blow with such ferocity it was almost like he was aiming to hurt her.
"Seriously we can take a break this is only a training match" she parried away a blow pointing the tip of Kanzen Bi at his chest about to charge a Juunsui Yuga blast but hesitated hoping he'd see reason. Instead, he lunged straight at her as she fired the blast at point blank range throwing him back onto the dirt smoke wafting off his chest. Slowly standing back up there was now a black charred mark on his stomach as he brushed the pain away and extended out his right hand a black orb of electricity crackling in the palm as Ania recognized it straight away "Shit a cero".
The blast erupted from his hand consuming half the battleground as Ania shunpoed away just as the very last moment before reappearing a violent torrent of dust flew behind her from the explosion further away. "Okay he's going a bit over the top.." Ania thought to herself feeling Mitch's reiatsu behind her as she spun around swinging Kanzen Bi through the air as he ducked underneath the attack and brought Ashura cleaving up catching her on the arm spraying blood everywhere.
About to lose her grip on Kanzen Bi from the wound Ania grit her teeth making sure to hold onto the spear while Mitch lunged straight at her stomach the tip of Ashura aiming straight for her chest. Jumping back she avoided the stab and brought Kanzen Bi swinging down slicing across Mitch's chest as he stood there unphased by the blow while his blood spilt onto the ground below staring at her with black reiatsu wafting off his body.
"Alright well even if you aren't phased by those wounds I am so we're calling it quits" her bankai form dissolved away while Mitch continued standing there staring at her with his vizard mask on as she half expected him to still attack her but instead he turned around and walked away without saying a single word while a haze of black reiatsu floated behind him.
Yoruichi appeared next to her sighing "Just leave him be I think he needs some time alone to himself" "Just who was that woman for him to react that way?" Ania asked as Yoruichi simply patted Ania on the back "That's for him to tell you not me". "Let's get you in the spa though seeing as he did a real number on you" after all the adrenaline from fighting had worn off Ania suddenly felt the pain of her wounds and just how fatigued she was as Yoruichi lent her shoulder for Ania to lean on slowly making their way to the springs.
Still in his vizard form Mitch was leaning with his back against a cliff face staring down at the ground recalling the events that had transpired back within Ania's little realm of desire. "Alana…" was all he said recalling the silver haired woman as the moment his eyes locked with her memories from many years ago that had been long locked away came flooding back.
Flames floated all around him as he turned around punching a hole through the cliff leaving his fist embedded before letting out a bestial roar just as the vizard mask shattered revealing tears were running down his face. Yoruichi shunpoed in after feeling the huge explosion of reiatsu as she sighed "Had to check and make sure your inner hollow didn't use that chance to take control" "It's fine" Mitch said skulking past before pausing "You didn't tell her anything?" "It's not for me to tell".
Trudging back towards the camp Ashura the wolf materialized out of his blade walking beside him as he let out a whimper causing Mitch to pause and kneel giving him a scratch behind the ears. "I know" was all he said before hugging and burying his face into the giant wolfs fur "You kept all those memories and feelings locked up for so long it's only natural for them to all come at once and overwhelm you" the wolf said as Mitch stood back up wiping the last tear from his face "Just caught me off guard that's all".
Arriving back at the camp he found Ania curled up inside her sleeping bag fast asleep as he took a seat next to the fire just as Ashura came trudging over and laid a head on Mitch's lap as he idly stroked the wolfs head staring into the flames.
"Weird Mitch's reiatsu exploded a few minutes ago and now it's fluctuating" Tom looked over in the direction of the training grounds just as he finished sweeping up the last part of the squads training grounds. "Must've been a tough sparring session with Ania" wiping the sweat off his forehead he sighed "Time for a refreshing drink of sake after a day of hard work".
