Batman vs Superman

It has been over a year since the infamous Black Zero Event that devastated half of Metropolis which is still rebuilding to this day. Fearing the possibility that the Man of Steel could cause even more damage if he goes rogue, Batman goes on a quest to kill the Kryptonian hero while an unknown man manipulates them both from the darkness.

8. Chapter 8

Ch 8

After the fight with Superman, Batman and Superman traced a signal from Lex's base and they stormed in and found Lex and Professor Ivo working on a metallic android.

"Ah, you two are just in time for your ultimate defeat!" Lex said as Ivo finished welding the android's parts together and stepped back. "Say hello to Amazo!" Lex said.

Superman lunged at Amazo but the android grabbed him by the neck, then slammed him down onto the floor.

Batman fired his Kryptonite gas grenade to distract the android while Superman flew in and blasted the android but Amazo used his special metal to absorb the rays, then fired crimson rays out from his eyes, forcing Superman back.

"Did I mention that it can also copy your powers?" Lex taunted.

Batman then ran back and flew back to the base with his Batwing, spraying Amazo with missiles and machine gun fire but Amazo blasted the Batwing with his eye lasers, sending it spinning down and forcing Batman to eject as the Batwing plummeted, then crashed in a fiery explosion.

Superman charged and had a fistfight with Amazo, smashing each other into the sides of buildings before Superman wrenched a lamp post free and whacked Amazo with it, sending it flying but Amazo grabbed the post on the next swing and sent Superman flying with a kick.

Then a silver flash cut off Amazo's arm in a shower of sparks.

Wonder Woman had arrived.

"Friend of yours?" Superman asked.

"I thought she was with you." Batman replied.

Together, they all attacked at once, using their punches, sword strikes, and gas grenades to drive back Amazo as it blasted wildly, lighting up the sky with crimson energy.

Finally, Wonder Woman wrapped her Lasso around Amazo but it pulled her in, then punched her aside.

Batman fired his minigun but the bullets just bounced off and he watched helplessly as Amazo stalked towards him.

Suddenly, Superman flew in and stabbed the android with a flash of green energy using Batman's Kryptonite spear he had retrieved from Gotham River.

Amazo lurched forward and sparks flew but it used the last of its energy to extend a Kryptonite blade, then stabbed Superman with it.

Superman let out a yell of pain, but still didn't give up and thrusted his spear into and out of Amazo until there was a burst of energy that blew everyone back and both Superman and Amazo were on the ground, dead.

Batman and Wonder Woman stared in shock and sadness as Lois ran over and cradled Clark in her arms, her sobs the only sound in the night.

All this time Batman had thought Superman was a planetary threat.

But now he could see that he had been utterly wrong.

Superman was a hero.

Even though he was gone, his legacy lived on in the Dark Knight and the Amazon warrior.
