CHAZZ
All families have their own guardian angels to watch over. They come in all different types and sizes. These angels are born when children are born, and they grow with them – protecting and gifting them pleasant dreams every night.
And this is how the story goes…
Once upon a time in a small house on a hill, a child was born. It was a beautiful baby girl, as fine as an angel. That is why her parents named her Angela.
On the very same day – deep under the floorboards – a tiny creature was born. It was as round as a ball, small as a seed, and covered in curly white fur.
"Chazz!" sneezed the creature, growing in an instant twice its size. "Chazz!"
With each sneezing sound it grew, and soon it was as big as a tennis ball – furry, round and with black beads of eyes, looking out to the world in wonder. The creature rolled around, and felt a very warm sensation from upstairs. So it went through a small crack between the floor boards and found itself in a child's room, where – in a nice little bed – Angela slept.
"Chazz?" the creature sniffed the air and started crawling up the bed to the baby. Once it set its eyes on the child, it felt a very deep and warm emotion – they were bound together with something deeper than love. He knew now that it was his duty to protect and watch over her.
The creature slipped next to the child and started faintly singing, giving Angela a very pleasant dream. In that first dream he gave her she was flying somewhere over the clouds, happy and free.
Days passed, Chazz slipped into Angela's bed each night and sang, letting the child sleep in the comfort of good dreams. The creature stayed with her all his time – unseen by adults, but very well felt by the child.
One of the first words Angela said was "Chazz", reaching for the creature that was happy to see his friend make first steps in the big human world.
Chazz was Angela's friend, protector, and company whenever she needed. When Angela started talking, Chazz became her companion – they often sat in the garden, talking of the beauty of the world around. He taught her how the birds sang, and how animals lived in the woods nearby.
One day, when Angela was playing in the front yard of her house, Chazz was looking over and noticed a stray dog approaching the girl from behind. He rushed to the girl and stood in between her and the dog.
"Get out of my way, little thing!" barked the dog at the creature.
"Chazz!" screeched the creature and sprung to the dog's muzzle, trying to chase it away.
A fight started – the dog clashed its teeth and jumped around to get the quick little furball, but Chazz was too quick and soon drove the dog away.
Angela found her furry little friend lying on the grass in exhaustion, and started weeping.
"Chazz!" the girl wept, petting his fur. "Don't go away. Don't leave."
"Chazz…" the creature sighed, closing its eyes.
When her mother took her inside, Angela was still crying over a barely alive Chazz. She put him in a small box, covered him with a tiny doll's blanket, and wished he could get better.
However, on the next day she found her box empty. Chazz disappeared.
Angela's parent didn't know what happened to their little girl – she became very sad. And a few days later they decided it would be better if their child would have a little friend.
"Honey, look what daddy got you…" Angela's mother walked into her little girl's room.
"I don't want anything." Answered the girl. "I want my friend back!"
Her father held a little puppy behind his back and wished that it would make Angela better.
"Chazz!" suddenly sneezed the little creature in his hands, and he took it out and looked and it.
"I think it caught a cold…" he said, sad that his present didn't get Angela's attention at all.
"Chazz!" sneezed the puppy again.
Angela looked at her father, holding a curly little white puppy in his hands. She saw the curly white fur, the black beads of eyes and the look of wonder on its face that could be seen on her best friend's face every day.
"Chazz?!" She asked, and the puppy barked, wagging its tail.
"Chazz!" she screamed and jumped up to her father, carefully taking the puppy, and it started licking her face, as if they knew each other all their lives.
Now her little angel lived with her as her guardian dog that grew with her.
