Sora and Avea Trotter

During a party at Monster High, Avea finds herself standing near the punch bowl as the rest of the Monsters are enjoying themselves on the dance floor. Even her fellow Hybrids.

It's not that the Harpy/Pegasus can't enjoy herself during these parties. The ghoul just has a problem with the dance part of it for the obvious reason that she literally has two left feet.

A voice then drags the Hybrid from her thoughts.

"Why the long face?"

Avea turns to see the Sora approaching her and glares. "Was that supposed to be a horse joke?" she places her hands on her hips.

"Oh! Uh, sorry," the Normie rubs the back of his head. "I didn't mean for it to sound like this."

The hybrid just rolls her eyes. "I won't take offence… this time." the ghoul grabs herself some punch. "Want some?"

The boy nods, "Sure!" and is handed a cup.

"You're Sora, right?" the Harpy/Centaur takes a sip. "Haven't seen you since that fusion incident. That was a weirdest experience I've ever had."

"Not as weird for you as it was for me," the boy stares blankly as he recalls the entire event and then shakes his head. "Anyway! It just seems like you're the only one not enjoying the party."

"Oh, I'm enjoying the party all right," Avea then gestures to the dance floor. "I'm just not fond of that."

Sora looks at all his friends who're having fun. "You don't like dancing?"

"It's nothing personal," the Hybrid shrugs. "I just can't. Most dances call for having two legs. But having four…" she waves at her lower half. "…makes it hard to follow a rhythm."

The boy thought for a moment. "Makes senses I guess. But that doesn't mean you can't have a good time."

"Yeah, and how do you supposed I do that?"

"All you need is someone who's willing to share company with you."

That causes Avea to laugh. "Like who? For the longest time, the only company I had were the other Hybrids and where they're still my friends, they are out there dancing with everyone else," she waves her hand over where Neighthan and Bonita were dancing. "Except Sirena, who is distracted by the disco ball," she points up where the mermaid/ghost is admiring the dance decoration. "Not many non-centaurs are willing to spend time with a ghoul who has a literal horse's…" she glances behind at her lower half before clearing her throat. "Any way. And every centaur I met were offput by my wings." To emphasize that last part, the Hybrid gives her wings a flap.

"I think your wings look nice," Sora states catching Avea off-guard. "As for the rest of you. It's not about what the ghoul looks like but who the ghoul is. If someone's first thought is what someone looks like then that's probably a good sign that they shouldn't spend time with them."

The Hybrid blinks after listening to everything the Normie had to say. "So…" she looks away in an attempt to hide her blush. "Would you like to just hang out here next to the punch bowl with me?"

The boy flashes her a goofy grin. "Of course, Avea. You're good company."

The two then spend the rest of the party just talking about their lives.

End

NOTE: I guess Yutilov won their bet. I am currently working on several chapters for these one shots while also working on the next chapter for the main story. Hopefully I'll have the main story updated soon.
