Kelpie slowly opened his eyes and found himself in a dark room with no light he looked around to see if he could find Ashlin and then saw overblot Ashlin looking at her childhood memories with a sad look on her face
Kelpie tried to walk towards her but his feet started sinking into the ground then he could see the memories of Ashlin when she was a little kid looking happy and bright
Little Ashlin burst into the room of her father's office while he was working and Azul looked down to see Ashlin "What is it my pearl?" Azul said "daddy will you come play with me" little Ashlin said this made Azul sigh
"I'm not sure I'm going to be able to finish my work my pearl I'm pretty busy stacked up on documents...why don't you ask some of your friends to play with you" Azul said patting her head making little Ashlin sigh in disappointment and respond with "Okay daddy" and walked out
Overblot Ashlin spoke "dad never knew that I lied about having any friends...I just wanted him to be proud of me...I was shy and unmotivated to make friends" as the scene changes to little Ashlin playing alone in a sandbox
"I would mostly play by myself and use imaginary friends so I wouldn't feel lonely...I thought I would always feel lonely" overblot Ashlin said
A few kids walked over to Ashlin as she was playing in the sand "hey can we play with you" a couple of girls said this made Little Ashlin smile and nodded
"I actually genuinely thought that they were my friends but when I went to middle school I overheard them talking behind my back..." Overblot Ashlin said
The scene changed to Ashlin in middle school and she was about to walk into the classroom when she heard the voices of her fake friends "do you know if Ashlin will be in this class" friend A said
"God I hope not that girl is such a hopeless space case...I've seen her daydreaming more than she focuses on reality" friend B said making Ashlin listen closely to their conversation
"Do you even think she's right in the head" Friend C said making Ashlin's eyes darken "I doubt it...the only reason I became friends with her is because we get free meals at the monstro lounge" friend B said
Ashlin clenched her fists and grit her teeth in anger "who would ever genuinely be her friend" Friend C said "yeah I bet they would pity her" Friend A said Ashlin opened the door with a slam
"I've heard enough" Ashlin said her voice dark and venomous "Ah..Ash..lin...um how long were you standing out there" Friend B said as Ashlin glared at the 3 of them
"Oh only long enough to hear that my friends are fake and they pity me because I'm such a space case and you only became friends with me to get free meals at the monstro lounge my dad owns..." Ashlin sneered at them
"did I about sum up the things you said or do you have to hear more" Ashlin said with anger in her voice "I sincerely hope you can make friends without using them liars like you 3...are the worst" Ashlin said
Kelpie now understood why Ashlin acted so aggressively towards him when he tried to explain himself she was lied to since she was a child how could she not take it personally
The overblot Ashlin spoke "I blindly trusted them with no thoughts on what they were saying behind my back I felt...broken when I learned that they were using me for their own selfish reasons...it made me angry" Overblot Ashlin lowered her head and cried
"I hate it...when I hear lies like this...it makes me...so mad...I can't..." Overblot Ashlin cried into her hands as Kelpie dragged his feet and hugged Ashlin from behind
"I know you don't want to listen to what I have to say...but please hear me out...the woman you saw me with was Lydia Carlton she's my old crush" Kelpie said
"She's married to an earl named Edgar J.C Ashenbert..." Kelpie said "then why did I hear you say..." overblot Ashlin is cut off by Kelpie "let me finish" Kelpie spoke calmly
"Lydia and Edgar were there on vacation you saw me with Lydia was nothing but a coincidence I didn't expect you to eavesdrop on the conversation and didn't notice you" Kelpie said
"but you didn't let me explain me with Lydia hear the entirety of the conversation...if you had been there at the start of the conversation you would have heard that those words were said for you" Kelpie said making Ashlin's eyes widen
"So then you...were...talking about me" Overblot Ashlin said sounding baffled and blushed "yes I was telling her about you and the letters you sent me the first time we met as penpal's" Kelpie said pulling Ashlin to his chest
"But I swear to you I never meant to break your heart like that hearing you sound so heartbroken made my heart break" Kelpie said hugging her tightly
"Please...let me make it up to you" Kelpie said burying his face in the crook of her neck this made Ashlin blush "ok...I forgive you" Ashlin said hugging him tightly as the darkness disappeared
