It wasn't long before the weekend came around. It was during this Saturday that Basil and his mother were once again packing their belongings. They made sure to comb through all parts of their house, so that they didn't forget anything important. They were grabbing everything in the house and putting them in boxes of different sizes in all the rooms, from the living room to the attic, from the kitchen to their bedrooms. It was all so they'd get ready to move to a new home during the upcoming Spring Break. It was a lot of work though especially for Basil, but he and his mother knew that it'd be worth it in the end when they move to a new location within their town.

Basil was sitting in his room as he looked over the video games that he had collected over the years. That also included his PS1 system and the games that he could play on it. Another game system that he had was his Nintendo GameCube. The games that he had for that system were Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Mario Sunshine, Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Sonic Heroes, Spyro: A Hero's Tail, Kirby Air Ride, Crash Tag Team Racing, Pokémon Colosseum and many others in his collection. Basil also had a Nintendo DS and games for it as well. Those games were Super Mario 64 DS, Sonic Rush, WarioWare Touch!, Mario Kart DS and a few other games.

Basil made sure to sort through the games and pack them in separate boxes. Once that was done, he switched over to packing his clothing and other belongings, which included a paper of his love doodles of his school crush Adriana. He made sure to keep those pictures hidden from his mother. Basil didn't really want his mother to know about his crush and tease him afterwards. It would be pretty embarrassing, especially for a child when they hit puberty. Once he packed the pictures and placed a sticky note on the box with bold words written on it saying 'Private collection, do not open', he stood up and stretched out his muscles.

"Alright, that should be good." Basil said with a smile on his face. "Now to get these boxes down to the living room."

He then proceeded to carry the boxes downstairs, while making sure that he didn't stumble and fall. After he successfully did that, Basil headed towards the living room. There were other packing boxes sitting in the living room, waiting to be moved when Spring Break came around. Basil placed his box on top of a large box before straightening up. He was about to walk out of the living room to go back upstairs to grab more of his packing boxes, when his eyes caught something sticking out from one of the bookshelves. He stopped to look and saw that it was a midnight blue book. But it wasn't just any book, it was actually a high school yearbook that once belonged to his father.

Basil stared at the book for a moment before deciding to take it off the shelf. He then sat himself down on the floor of the living room and opened the yearbook to see the contents inside it. Basil slowly flipped through the pages as he looked at some of the photos of young teenagers. He laughed at a few pictures that showed some teenagers with outlandish haircuts or were wearing strange clothing that had been popular in their era. Basil didn't know how long he had been looking through the book, but he was brought out of his intense browsing when his mother's voice suddenly spoke from above him.

"I see you found your father's old yearbook."

Basil let out a yelp as he jumped a little in surprise before he looked up at his mother. A sheepish smile appeared on his face before he spoke.

"Y-yeah, I just found it on the bookshelf after moving one of my boxes down here."

Olivia chuckled before she sat herself down on the floor beside her son. Basil then turned his attention back on the page that was in the book.

"I have to say Mom, the teenagers back in that era really had...unique styles when they were attending high school." Basil said with a smile.

"Yep, those were the days," Olivia said as she gazed down at the picture of a teenage boy with a wacky hairdo. "Teenagers trying out different styles of hair and clothing to make themselves look cooler in school. Fortunately, your father didn't do that during his high school year."

A look of interest appeared on Basil's face as he glanced up at his mother in surprise.

"Really, what did he look like back then?" Basil asked curiously.

A soft expression appeared on Olivia's face before she gently took the yearbook from her son, and gently began to flip through five of its pages back to the beginning. Once she found the page that she was looking for, Olivia tilted the book slightly before pointing to one of the student pictures.

"This is him, right there on the top left corner."

Basil looked at the picture as he stared at it in surprise. The teenage version of his dad had his hair in a neat yet messy short hairstyle. He was wearing a light blue and tan short-sleeved flannel jacket over a dark blue long-sleeved shirt, dark blue pants, and royal blue converse shoes.

"No way!" Basil exclaimed with a large smile on his face. "That's what dad looked like when he was a teen?"

"Yep," replied Olivia with a smile. "And he was one of the few who was a little more tamer in his looks."

Basil chuckled before noticing four other teens on the page. There were three females and one male amongst the photos.

The first of the four was a girl who had her hair pulled back in a low ponytail by a light blue ribbon. She was wearing a blue pullover sweater vest over a white collared shirt, a forest green plaid skirt, white thigh-high stockings, and black Mary Jane flats with small heels.

The second female had her hair in braided pigtails. She was wearing a black leather jacket over a cherry red spaghetti strap romper with a dark gray belt adorned with a skull buckle, black fingerless gloves, silver paper clip earrings, a black beanie on her head, gray leggings with dark gray triangles, and black platform boots.

The third female had her hair pulled back in a high wavy ponytail. She was wearing a light gray bolero jacket over a hot pink halter top, amethyst purple eyeshadow, gold hoop earrings, a pink sash with a silver buckle ring, a black skirt, pansy purple leggings with a leopard pattern, light pink leg-warmers, and hot pink high-heels.

And the male teen had his hair in a shaggy hairstyle with a cowlick on the front. He was wearing a red and mustard yellow varsity jacket over a white tank top, a red baseball cap on his head worn backwards, medium-wash pants, and red and white sneakers.

Growing curious about the four teens, Basil asked his mother while pointing to the photos within the book.

"Hey Mom, what about these four teenagers here? Who are they?"

Olivia looked at the pictures that Basil was pointing to before chuckling. She then pointed to the first picture of one of the teen girls.

"Well, the girl who has her hair in a low ponytail is me." Olivia answered with a smile.

Basil stared wide eyed at the younger version of his mother before looking up at her.

"No way! That's really you in that picture?" questioned Basil in an excited voice.

"Sure was," replied Olivia with a chuckle. "You could say I was quite the looker back then."

"I'd say that you look just as tame as dad." Basil said with a smirk.

Olivia giggled once more before she began to point to other teenagers within the book.

"This teenager right here with the braided pigtails and looking like a biker chick is Marley, while this girl right here who is dressed up like an 80s fashionista is Gladys. And the last teenager here with the shaggy hairstyle with a cowlick is none other than Dwayne."

Basil gasped at the younger version of Marley and his mother's two High School enemies in surprise before speaking as he pointed to Gladys.

"Man, even when she was younger, she still looks like a witch."

"Basil!" scolded Olivia with a playful smirk upon her face.

"What? She really is," insisted Basil with a serious expression upon his face.

Olivia couldn't help giggling before Basil asked her about Dwayne. "So, who exactly is this Dwayne guy anyways?"

"Dwayne LaFontant was a bully that loved to try and torment your dad whenever he got the chance." Olivia answered with a light frown upon her face. "He was a grade above us within High School and was had been one of the jocks on our school's football team as well. Honestly, if Gladys had been interested in dating back then, Dwayne would absolutely be the guy that she would go for. They were both quite stuck-up if you ask me."

Basil chuckled at what his mother had just. "Still, I bet that dad didn't take Dwayne's bullying lying down, right?"

"No, he didn't," replied Olivia with a smile, "Your father was able to outwit Dwayne no matter how tough things had gotten. He was one of a kind that was for sure."

A sad smile appeared on Basil's face as he thought about how smart his father must have been when he had been a teenager. Olivia gazed down at her son for a moment before unclipping her locket from around her neck. She then passed it to her son, who looked up at her curiously.

"Go ahead," she said with an encouraging smile, "Open it up and see what's inside."

Basil did what his mother told him and opened it to see what was inside. Inside the locket was a picture of her and Gordan standing together in front of the camera, with Olivia holding Basil when he had been a baby in her arms. They were both smiling at the camera with a look of joy upon their faces.

"That picture was taken just after you had been born," spoke Olivia in a gentle voice, "We had been so happy back then that you had been born heathy and strong. Your father would always tell me that he believed that you would overcome anything no matter what the odds were. And he loved you more that the earth and sky themselves."

Basil stared down at the picture for a moment as a small tear appeared near the corner of his right eye.

"I miss him," voiced Basil in a soft voice.

"So do I, honey," said Olivia as she brought her son into a hug.

They silently sat on together as Basil leaned against his mother. It was about a minute later that Olivia decided to cheer her son up.

"I know just what you need to cheer you up," she said with a smile upon her face. "We can have dinner at Yummi's Chinese Kitchen tonight during our break with packing. After that, we can go to the movie theaters later on. How does that sound to you, kiddo?"

Basil looked at his mother stunned for a moment before a large smile appeared on his face.

"Yeah, I would like that," he said with a nod of his head. "We can go and watch Ice Age: The Meltdown that's been playing there. After all, I have seen the first Ice Age movie back in 2002, and I want to see where the story continues from there."

"Okay," said Olivia with a chuckle, "It's your night, after all. Now, let's get back to packing, shall we?"

Basil nodded his head as he handed his mother's locket back to her. Once it was back on her neck, Olivia and Basil stood up from the floor, and began to continue where they had left off.
