May indignantly tapped her foot on the ground whilst stuffing her mouth with food. Brianna and Dawn, who were sitting with her like usual, were happily chatting on and about. Brianna was unusually happy since Drew greeted her in the hallway earlier that day.

Just the mere thought of Drew made May feel weird in the stomach. Which, probably, was because she made the great decision to kiss him on the cheek after walking him back home after prom. She was relieved that, eventually, she did it, but.. it still didn't feel right. In terms of Brianna liking Drew, of course.

Wanting to get the thoughts off of her mind, she kept on eating, as she proceeded to listen to Dawn and Brianna's endless chatting. 'Yeah,' Brianna groaned, 'Mr. goldenburg gave us a huge project for science, which... I'm naturally not excited for..' she huffed. 'And worst is it's gotta be done next week.'

'Ah, that sucks!' Dawn chimed in, quickly eating a few grapes off of her fork. 'Yeah.. it might be the case that I need to study during beaks, so.. I probably won't be able to eat with you guys then.' Brianna added, closing her lunchbox. 'Aw. Well, that's OK, I wish you luck on the project!' Dawn retorted.

The two kept on chatting, as May couldn't help but think of Drew, no matter how much she tried to keep her mind off of him. 'May?' Suddenly she was awoken from her daydreams as both Brianna and Dawn were gazing into her eyes. 'You've been unusually quiet.. are you okay?' Dawn asked, curiously cocking her head to the side.

May's eyes widened before she shook her head. 'Ah, I was just thinking about class,' she lied, 'not to mention I didn't manage to get much sleep last night.' She murmured, looking down at her full lunchbox. She hadn't eaten a thing yet. Dawn nodded at her. 'That's OK. I hope you'll sleep better tonight, May.'

May drowsily laid her hand under her chin, her eyes fluttering half-closed. Suddenly, Brianna let out a silent squeal. 'Did you guys know that today the RoseRunners are playing their final game of this year today?' Brianna giggled, her cheeks a slight red. 'I am so gonna cheer Drew Hayden on!'

Oh. Right, Drew was on the RoseRunners team. It's pretty silly that she almost forgot that he was. 'Cool!' Dawn giggled. 'I'm sure he'll win,' Dawn added.

Well, I'm gonna be heading to class,' Brianna said, placing her lunchbox back into her bag as she then swung her bag over her shoulder. 'Wait for me!' Dawn panicked, quickly stuffing her items into her bag before following Brianna. 'Bye May!' Both Brianna and Dawn yowled before they had run off.

May sighed deeply to herself. 'Drew isn't going to win,' She pouted. 'Drew is nothing but a show off.' She deadpanned, stuffing her mouth with one last snack. 'Tsk Tsk miss Maple, how rude!' May flinched as she heard a familiar voice whisper in her ear. Alarmed, her eyes widened and she turned around, just to see Drew, casually standing with his hands in his pockets.

'Drew!' May hissed. 'Why're you here? You normally don't eat in the cafeteria!' She yowled in annoyance. Drew looked slightly embarrassed before he corrected his posture. 'I'm here because I want to,' he explained. 'But what did I hear you say, May? That I'm not gonna win?' He grimaced widely.

May clenched her teeth at him. 'Yes, I did, and I meant it! You're not gonna win,' She said angrily, 'You're just a show off!' she reasoned, narrowing her eyes. Drew grinned as he flicked his hair. 'You just can't accept that I'm, well, pretty handsome whenever I'm sporting.' he replied haughtily. 'No way!' May protested, her cheeks reddening. 'Y-You just...! You suck at.. uhm.. you just suck!' She pouted.

Drew let out a laugh before he scratched his neck. 'I don't like to boast or anything, but at least I don't sport so poorly like you do during P.E,' he jested, slightly leaning in. 'What?!' May snapped, anger boiling in her stomach. 'I'm not bad at P.E!' she protested, angrily shoving her lunchbox back into her bag. Drew once again laughed. 'Sure. Whatever you say, miss klutz.'

May groaned. 'You're... so...you know what?!' She yelled, slamming her hands on the table, catching Drew off guard. 'Let's make a bet!' May insisted, pointing her finger at Drew accusingly. 'Hm? A bet?' Drew murmured, rising his eyebrows. 'Yes! A bet! If you lose during your final match, you need to admit that I don't suck at P.E!'

Drew grimaced. 'All right. And if I win,' Drew began, 'You'll go on a date with me.' May's eyes widened in surprise. 'WHAT?!' May screamed, pulling herself up from her seat. 'N-No way! I'm not going to go on a date with you!' She hissed, her cheeks burning red.

Drew grinned. 'Too scared, wimp? That's so like you.' He huffed haughtily. 'I'm not scared!' May protested. 'If you're not, accept the deal.' He said, reaching his hand out to her. May hesitated before taking his hand. May proceeded to pull him her way, that was he was leaning in. 'Fine, deal!' She hissed, 'But don't ever call me a wimp again!'

Drew's cheeks turned a light pink from the lack of space between the two. 'Heh. Good choice.' He grinned, before getting himself out of May's light grasp 'Well.. see you in class!' Drew gritted his teeth into a grin before walking off, leaving May left at her table, dumbfounded. What had she just agreed to?

It was second break, and May and Dawn were eating in the cafeteria like usual. However, May was less chatty and angrily looked down at her lunchbox, her cheeks red. Dawn, confused by her unusual behavior, decided to question it. 'You're awfully quiet, May, and you're looking real angry. Did something happen?'

In surprise May snapped her head back up. 'Yes! I'm mad!' she yowled, as her face full of anger face faded to one of despair. 'I did something really stupid, dawn!' She whined, leaning on the table with her forehead. Dawn furrowed her eyebrows. 'What? What'd you do?' she asked in curiosity.

'Drew and I made a bet...' May pouted, stuffing a cookie into her mouth. 'You two? A bet?' Dawn began, cocking her head in confusion. 'A bet for what?' May rose her head. 'mm.. hmm mm..' May explained, mouthful. Dawn chuckled awkwardly. 'Didn't get that, May.'

May swallowed her food in a panic. 'If I lose the bet I need to go on a date with him!' She yelled out, slightly startling the bluenette in front of her. 'H-Huh? What?' She said in surprise, taken aback by her outbreak. 'Explain some more,' Dawn continued, 'Why did you guys make up a bet? And more importantly, why does he offer to go on a date if you lose?'

May let out a frustrated sigh. 'Well... basically, I was just talking down about Drew and how he's gonna lose during that last volleyball competition... since, well, I'm angry because he's constantly teasing me!' May began, clenching her fists. 'Then Drew suddenly appeared before me and started teasing me!'

Dawn cocked her head, still looking at her in confusion. 'And then?' She asked, assuming there was more to the story. 'So.. then.. he made fun of my sporting during P.E classes so I became angry and had the "great" idea to make a bet!' She pouted. 'If he lost, he'd have to admit that I can actually sport. And... he then..' She trailed off, shielding her mouth with her hand.

'He insisted that if he won you two would go on a date?' Dawn finished for her. 'Yes!' She groaned, letting her head fall back on the lunch table. 'Oh, May..' Dawn sighed, leaning on her hand with her cheek. 'I'm honestly sure he's going to win..' May murmured. 'I was so angry and I just.. I didn't realize what I was doing!'

Dawn closed her lunchbox. 'Then let him know,' She suggested. Mays eyes widened as she rose up. 'No! No way! If I did, he'd think I'm a wimp, loser, and everything!' She groaned. 'I just.. I can't lose to him! He can just be so annoying sometimes..' she huffed, sinking back into her seat. Yet she liked him.. 'And how big of a problem is it if the two of you go on a date?'

Mays eyes widened. She was right.. was that really the issue? The idea of them on a date only made her feel weird in the stomach. It wasn't some unexplainable anger. May sighed deeply. 'It.. wouldn't be that big of a problem.. except that I once again abandon Brianna..'

Dawn sweatdropped. 'Oh. Right. But she wouldn't be mad if you couldn't do anything about it.. since, it's you know, a bet.' Dawn chirped. 'And who says he will win? He still has a possibility of losing. If he were to lose, he would have to admit you're not bad at P.E, and, more importantly, you won't have to go on a date with him.' She murmured.

May took a deep breath. 'Ah.. Yeah.. yknow, I guess you're right. Maybe I am over exaggerating. He could still lose, and... really maybe..' her voice shifted onto a whisper. Really maybe, a date with him wouldn't be the worst.. she thought, remembering the good times she had shared with Drew.

Dawn smiled at her. 'You do kind of like him, don't you?' she asked, making May go red in the face. 'N-No! I mean, yes! I mean.. only sometimes..' she sputtered. 'Sometimes he's nice, and then I can stand him and.. sometimes he's all rude and snarky.' She sighed. Dawn chuckled. 'That's the way he is, then. You have all the time to figure out your feelings, May.'

May looked at her, as she then smiled. 'Yeah.. thank you, Dawn. But, please don't tell Brianna yet, OK?' She asked, clasping her hands. Dawn nodded. 'Of course. You can tell her when you're ready.'

May clenched her fists. Drew and his teammates were running across the volleyball field. And, unfortunately, Drew and his team were doing awfully well. Left and right they were scoring points, making May even more nervous in the stomach. If he were to win, they'd have to go on a date! May, and HIM!

She pouted to herself. She could never hear the end of his teasing if she were to lose the bet. Leaning on the bleachers, she couldn't help but look at Drew, who was running across the field, throwing the volleyball left and was made her so surprised that Drew himself was scoring so many points.

Yeah, she was being ridiculous before, he was pretty handsome. He was pretty handsome just running there, sweat running his forehead, and his green locks hanging before his eyes. As much as she really didn't want to admit it, he made her feel butterflies in her stomach. She felt a way for him she never thought she'd feel. Especially for him.

She wondered if he, maybe, felt the same way. She softly sighed to herself. Only three minutes remained before the match would end, and she was confident she would be losing the bet. Really often she could see Drew smirking at her, who obviously knew he'd be winning, too.

But whether the big win would boost his already huge ego, or satisfy him because the two were going on a date, she wasn't exactly sure. a minute remained, and all she could focus on was Brianna's excited cheering from the cheer leading club in front of the bleachers.

The minute ended, and both parties were panting heavily on the field. Yes, Drew had won. Unfortunately, which meant she'd have to go on a date with him, and, once again stab her very dear friend in the back. Especially now there was no going back, because when Drew gave his team mates a high five he walked her way - a smirk on his face.

He swung his sports bag over his shoulder and walked up the bleachers her way. 'So, May...' He grinned, his eyes narrowed. 'What'd you say about me definitely losing? Because I just won. And not a little bit, either.' He said proudly, pointing her finger at her. May puffed her cheeks. 'If it weren't for your teammates you would've lost!' May excused.

May let out a laugh. 'Sure, May, sure.' He huffed, quickly zipping his sports bag open. 'Unfortunately for you I won't be admitting you're good at sports anytime soon.' he whistled, pulling an envelope out and pressing it in her hands. 'But, you know, there is something else I will admit,' he said. Leaning in, he whispered into her ear. 'You're pretty cute when you're sporting.' and he had turned around and walked down the bleachers, leaving May blushing.

Had he just admitted that she was cute? Oh, she would never ever make sure to do her best during P.E again. Or would he tease her again if she stopped to do so? She groaned deeply, pulling herself up, her cheeks still burning red from the previous comment.

She hesitated before opening the envelope in her hands, as she slid out a smaller note inside. She read:

Hey, May.
Excited for our date? I sure am.
Anyhow, for now that's not relevant.
Dress up pretty for me, will you? Or else I had to do SO much for this bet for nothing!
See you tonight. I'll text you the rest of the info.

May only became more angry as she read the note. She could practically hear the sarcasm that was written all over the fifth sentence! She lifted herself up. Well, she would have to go home and find out how she would be dressing for him. Groaning lightly, she walked down the bleachers.

'Solidad, what do girls like to do on dates?' Drew asked, leaning towards his computer screen.

The pink haired girl on the screen tilted her head. 'Huh? Why do you want to know?' She asked, furrowing her eyebrow.

Drew cringed at the question. 'Just tell me,' he groaned in irritation, his cheeks flashing a light pink.

'You're going on a date with a girl, aren't you?' Solidad asked, happily smirking at her friend.

Drew clenched his teeth, flatly ignoring the questions as the girl on the screen chuckled again. 'So you finally like someone?'

Drew shyly nodded his head. 'Maybe..' he muttered quietly, but loud enough for his friend to hear.

'Aww, you're growing up!' The woman giggled, holding her hand before her mouth, as Drew just let out an annoyed groan.

'So what girls like to do on dates?' Drew asked, trying to change the topic as quick as possible. Solidad removed her hand from her mouth. 'Is this your first date?'

Drew nodded. 'Yes,' he answered. 'Then why don't you start off with something simple? Like treat her to dinner for example?' She suggested.

'That might work..' Drew muttered. 'Thanks, Solidad.' He whispered, his cheeks still a light red. 'Sure thing! Let me know how the date went, 'Kay?' Solidad smiled, playfully winking at him before ending the call.

Drew let his head sink. He knew that, somehow, Solidad would find out he had started crushing on someone.

Drew slightly loosened his tie. Yeah, this date might've been caused by a silly little bet, but he couldn't deny that he was incredibly nervous. Just the mere thought of going on a date made him, well, very nervous.

He had sent May all the info she needed. He decided to eat at a classy restaurant, one he'd be able to pay just fine. Leaning his head on his hand, he waited for his very date to walk in the restaurant. And, as he had expected, May marched into the restaurant, her eyes widening as she looked around.

Drew was able to assume that she hadn't been to such an expensive restaurant before. Which wasn't necessarily weird since Drew was packed with money and didn't have any trouble paying anything. As soon May's eyes met Drew's she happily waved and marched over to his table. 'Hi!' May giggled.

Drew grinned. 'Hi, May. You look nice.' he commented, taking a quick look on Mays dark red minidress. 'T-Thanks,' May mumbled, her cheeks reddening. 'You look nice too.' She admitted, sitting down on one of the chairs. A silence fell between the two as May spoke up again after glaring around.

'Are you OK paying? This seems like a.. well, expensive restaurant. I don't think I've got enough money with me to pay,' May said quietly, quickly digging into her purse to look for her money. Drew smiled sweetly at her. 'May, no sweat. I'm paying. I offered to take you here anyway.' Drew noted.

Mays eyes widened. 'Y-You're paying for everything? But that's unfair for you.. let's say we'll both pay a half! I'm sure i've got enough to pay a bit..' May grimaced shyly at him as Drew's breath temporarily hitched in his throat. She was offering to also pay? Most girls he was familiar with would beg for him to pay, and would refuse to pay only a single penny.

'May, are you sure?' Drew asked. 'Yeah! Absolutely! I'll feel bad if you pay for everything,' May giggled, grabbing the menu as she started to read. Drew observed May as she was reading through the menu.

He could barely keep his eyes off of her. Gee, that sounded cliché. Mentally slapping himself, he also grabbed the menu card and started looking for what he wanted. 'So.. what're you picking to eat?' May hummed after a minute struck by. 'I'm not sure,' Drew answered. 'I think I'll just get a steak and some salad. What about you?'

May licked her lips. 'Mmm. I'll get a fried chicken sandwich! Oh, and some nachos!' She grinned, looking at her menu. 'And for drinks.. uhm.. I think I'll just take a water!'

The food had been set down on the table as the two started to dig in. 'So, why'd you move here?' Drew asked out of curiosity, and also in order to keep the conversation going. 'Well,' May mumbled, stuffing her mouth with a nacho, 'My parents reaaaally wanted a new house so they freaked out when they saw our house and just wanted it really bad.'

Drew placed his fork back on his plate. 'Oh? So they just wanted to start over?' Drew murmured. 'Basically, yes.' She answered. 'They've been really happy ever since we got our new house. Can't exactly say that about myself and Max, though.' She added.

'Must've been tough to leave your home behind.. as well as your memories and your friends. I take it you had plenty of friends back home?' He asked, as May smiled at him. 'Yes, I sure did! I had lots of friends. Sometimes we still chat on the phone, but.. since we now live pretty much very far away it's hard to keep in touch and hang out and stuff.'

Drew nodded. 'That makes sense.' He took his fork and stabbed the steak that was still on his plate. 'Drew? I-I've got a question.' May spluttered, as Drew looked back up and met her eyes. Her cheeks were a light pink. 'Hm? What's up?'

May shyly glared to the side. 'Have.. have you ever had a girlfriend?' She asked, her voice cracking in nervousness. Drew looked at her in surprise. 'N-No, why?' He answered, his voice slightly shaky. May smiled childishly at him. 'Well, you know, a lot of girls at school really seem to like you. Have you never dated any of them?'

Drew looked back at his steak. 'No, I haven't. I don't want them. The majority of the girls that like me are aware of my wealth and everything. I'd much rather be careful,' He answered, sighing to himself. 'Oh.. I'm sorry to hear that, Drew.' May said, unsure of what exactly to say to make him feel better. 'It's all good. I'm used to it— and they aren't exactly my type either.'

May furrowed her eyebrow, grinning. 'Oh? Mr. I'm-so-great has a type? Tell me,' She jested, leaning over the table and playfully pushing him in the shoulder. Drew's cheeks flashed a crimson red. 'Eh.. that's none of your business,' he answered, distancing himself from her. 'Awh, bummer. I wanted to know.' She sighed, falling back into her seat. 'Oh well.'

May and Drew trotted out of the restaurant, laughing. Both weren't keen on admitting, but they had the most fun they had in forever. And, for the both of them, it felt like they had only gotten closer. Now Drew and May were walking back to the train stations so Drew could wave May goodbye.

'I had fun today,' May told him, her cheeks a light pink. Drew smiled back at her. 'Me too.' He answered, digging his hands into his pockets. 'We should hang out more often,' May suggested, grinning at him again. 'We should,' Drew exclaimed, staring ahead of him, the stars shining brightly in the sky, and the streetlights illuminating the streets.

Suddenly, Drew felt May reach for his hand. 'I'm glad we're able to be friends and not bicker the entire time.' May murmured, slowly turning her head to look up at the red faced Drew who was gazing into her eyes. 'Ah.. me too,' Drew whispered, his voice shaking. He could feel the warmth of Mays skin against his, giving him a much more comfortable feeling in the cold weather.

May dug her chin into her scarf, enjoying the warmth it gave her. 'Your hand is freezing,' May started, 'Do you not have gloves or anything?' She asked, her eyes fluttering shut. 'No,' Drew answered, flicking his hair with his free hand, 'I'm able to handle some cold weather.' He grinned. 'Unlike some other girl who was to dress up like an eskimo.'

May clenched her teeth, letting go of his hand. 'An eskimo? Excuse me, I'm not that overdressed!' She hissed angrily, stopping in front of Drew and placing her hands on her waist. 'Oh, but you are,' Drew pointed out after coming to a halt, his finger playfully waving at her thick jacket, scarf and beanie. 'Drew, this is casual winter clothing!' She groaned.

'That's very cool.' Drew grinned. 'But if you're gonna keep getting so angry at me you'll miss your train. Is that beanie causing for you to get so hotheaded that you can't think?' He jested, his eyes narrowing. May let out a loud groan before turning around and quickly walking towards the train station that was currently in front of them.

'I take back what I said earlier,' May groaned in annoyance. 'We're not friends at all!' She deadpanned, 'Drew is just a rude guy as always.' She told herself, still confidently stomping towards the train station. 'May, don't run so fast, you might trip!' He called out, smirking. May looked back and stuck her tongue out back at him.

Eventually the two friends were waiting at the train station. Light rain was currently hitting the stone tiles in front of them. The two were silent for a nice minute before the train arrived. 'I guess I'll be heading home,' May murmured, a sad tone in her voice. Yes, she'd miss Drew.

Drew looked back at her. 'Yeah. We'll see each other at school.' He exclaimed, as May nodded and stepped into the train once the doors had opened. 'You're right. I'll see you tomorrow then?' May smiled, holding onto her purse. 'Surely.' Drew grimaced, stepping back from the train.

May was about to turn around and take a seat as well, but Drew's voice stopped her. 'Wait, May.' Drew huffed, his eyes gleaming as the moonlight hit his face. 'Drew?' May mumbled, walking back towards the opening of the door. 'What's wr— hmph—!'

Drew had quickly marched over to the end of the stone path and kissed May on the lips. He backed away and happily smiled at her. Before May could do anything, or let alone react, the doors of the train slid closed. Before she knew it the train started moving and Drew was out of sight. Just processing what he had done, May went red in the face.

Drew had kissed her!
