The next day, the Lotus Ninjas and their classmates played dodgeball in their gym uniform inside the school gym. It was boys vs girls and balls flew everywhere. One male student got hit and was knocked to the floor. A female student screamed in agony from the impact.
But dodgeball was the last thing the Lotus Ninjas had been thinking about. Lee, Ellie, Ella, and Donna couldn't believe about the previous night's conservation with their mother.
"I still can't believe after all this time we had magic since we were born!" Lee said. She caught a ball and threw it at a male student, who dodged away. "Since we're kids!"
"Well, she did keep it a secret at the kindness of her heart." Ellie said as she dodged two balls that was coming at her with a full split jump and a windmill dance move. "We can blame her for being protective."
"Yeah, that's true." Ella said as she kept deflecting incoming balls with the balls in her hands. "But still, we're teenagers now. We're old enough to know things like that."
Ella caught a ball between her teeth. She tossed it up in the air and used her head to hit it straight to a male student right in the face.
"Yes!" Ella grinned.
"I know our mom's worried, but it's true. We should've known these things." Donna said.
Donna narrowly dodged a ball that came flying at her.
"Hey, geeks!"
The Lotus Ninjas looked at the other female students on their team. Their team pointed their fingers behind and the four sisters then looked at the direction they're pointing at.
A ball suddenly flew toward Lee and hit her in the face, knocking her to the floor.
Ella, Donna, and Ellie heard someone giggling mockingly. They turned to see Larisa giving her friends high-fives.
"Oops. Sorry." Larisa teased.
Donna and Ellie walked over Lee, helping their sister off the floor.
Ella growled. Her face was seethed with anger as she gripped the ball in her hands. Donna, Lee, and Ellie stared at their hot-blooded sister with wide eyes, knowing exactly what she's about to.
Ella breathed heavily through her teeth. When she reeled her right arm back, surges of thermal energy from her palm were transferred into the ball.
"Eat this, Ice Queen!" Ella screamed angrily.
Ella hurled the ball hard. With great force, the ball rocketed straight towards Larisa, making it look like a comet.
Larisa screamed in horror. But it was too late for her to move out of the way. The ball collided with her stomach and sent her flying hard to the wall.
The gym teacher blew the whistle and turned to Ella.
"Illegal throw! You're out, Ella!" The gym teacher called.
"What?!" Ella shouted with disbelief. "But she...!"
Donna, Lee, and Ellie quickly huddled around Ella. They escorted their hot-blooded sister out of the gym.
"Ella, you gotta chill!" Ellie hissed.
As Ella was dragged off, a couple of female dodgeballers ran over to check on Larisa.
But April stared with confusion at the Lotus Ninjas. Her eyes narrowed with determination.
Donna, Lee, and Ellie dragged Ella into the girl's restroom.
"Ella, calm down." Lee said.
Ella was still panting with rage as Donna, Lee, and Ellie released their hot-blooded sister.
"Dude, keep it together." Donna said.
"THAT WAS AWESOME!" Ellie smiled.
Lee and Donna looked at Ellie with deadpan faces.
"Oh, come on. You two were thinking it." Ellie said.
"Yeah." Ella agreed. "I mean, come on. All our lives we've been normal kids with grades and after school activities. If mom doesn't trust us with our powers, then what's the point anyway? Plus, Larisa has it coming from last night."
"True dat." Donna and Ellie nodded in agreement.
"Look, girls." Lee said. "It's like mom said. We all have learned ninjutsu throughout our whole lives. If we could learn that, then we can learn our magic starting today after school."
Donna, Ellie, and Ella all turned to Lee. Their eyes bulged.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold up, wait a minute. Let me stomp my foot in it." Ella said as she stomped her right shoe on the floor. "So, we're doing it?!"
"Yeah, we are." Lee nodded with a smile. She took her sisters' hands into hers. "This is our first step into becoming a true mystic ninja. And we have to do it together."
"Heck yeah. I'm in." Ella said.
"Me two." Donna nodded.
"Me three." Ellie smiled.
"Now we just need something to cancel our after-school activities." Lee said. "C'mon, girls, think."
The Lotus Ninjas quietly racked their brains. A minute later, Donna got an idea.
"I got it! A clone spell." Donna said.
"A clone spell?" Ella, Lee, and Ellie repeated.
"Yeah, instead of canceling our after-school activities, we can create a perfect physical copy of ourselves that will carry our memories and personality." Donna explained. "So, that way no one will ever suspect a thing."
"Brilliant idea, D." Lee said.
Donna took two steps back. The tip of her index finger began to glow bright purple as she moved it in a circle.
"Watashi no kurōn o sakusei shimasu." Donna casted, releasing her magic in front of her.
At Donna's spell command, a bright purple ball of magical energy appeared between Donna and her sisters. The energy ball started to take shape into the form of a teenage girl that has the exact face, hair, body, and clothing as the real Donatella.
"Impressed?" Donna asked with a smile.
Ella, Lee, and Ellie walked up to the Donna clone with awestruck faces.
"Oh, yeah." Ellie smiled back.
"Nice work, D." Ella grinned.
"She's perfect." Lee said.
"O.M.G!"
Donna, Ellie, Ella, and Lee heard a familiar gasp. They slowly turned toward the door. April was standing in the bathroom, staring at the Donna clone. Donna, Ellie, Ella, and Lee dashed and stood between the clone and April.
Donna, Ellie, Ella, and Lee quickly began talking at once, but Donna's clone moved aside from the girls.
"Hello." A Donna clone greeted with a friendly wave.
The Lotus Ninjas looked at the Donna clone. They looked at each other and then looked back at April.
After a short silence, April suddenly ran up in front of her friends with an exciting look on her face.
"That's so cool!" April squealed. "I've got so many questions!"
"Wait, so…you're…not freak out on what you just saw?" Lee asked.
"Why would I? It's incredible." April said. "Tell. Me. Everything!"
A little while later, the Lotus Ninjas and April sat on a building rooftop together. After sending their magic clones to their after school activities, the Lotus Ninjas all tried to explain their mystical origins, interrupting and speaking to each other.
Then, April held one hand up, gesturing to her friends to stop talking all at once.
"Okay, stop. Let's start from the beginning." April said. "My four best friends are real sorceresses, but you lived a normal life with no knowledge or experience of mysterious magic?"
"We prefer the term mystic, actually." Donna corrected.
"Got it." April nodded, writing the information down in her notebook. "This is amazing. I want to know more. Tell me, are there more like you?"
"Nope, just us and our mom." Ellie said.
"Got it." April said as she wrote the information again in her notebook. She looked up from her notebook. "And you just figured out that you have magic powers since yesterday night?"
"Yup." Ella, Donna, Ellie, and Lee answered with nods.
"Pretty much." Ellie said. "You're the only one who knows."
With a smile, April closed her notebook and put it in her backpack.
"Look, I was supposed to be writing a story on Superfly and his mysterious crimes for my school paper, but I guess I could multitask." April said with an exciting smile. "I'll help you with your magic ninja training."
The Lotus Ninjas looked at each other, surprised by April's suggestion.
"April, are you sure you want to help us with our powers?" Ella asked.
"Of course." April said. "You girls are my friends. Besides, your mom did say that you must find a way to adjust your magic into your ninja moves. That, and I'm the only one who knows your secret."
"Good point." Lee said.
Later that night, the Lotus Ninjas were ready to prepare their training.
"According to your info, only Lee and Ella demonstrate their magic that could be related to the four classical elements so far." April explained. "The soda machine incident connects to Lee's water magic and the volleyball incident connects to Ella's fire magic. In addition, Donna cast her first spell in the Japanese language. Let's start with the basics first."
The first mystic to showcase her magic is Donna. Donna closed her eyes and concentrated on her magic. When she opened her eyes, her hands were instantly enveloped with purple magical energy. With a smile, Donna placed her glowing hands on the ground and summoned two large roses growing on either side of herself. The large roses then shot out purple glowing seeds upwards that exploded into fireworks in the sky.
Ellie, Lee, and Ella applauded Donna's earth magic demonstration while April held up a score card that read number ten on her notebook.
Next, Ella smiled excitedly at her glowing hands in red magical energy. She conjured a large ball of fire from one hand. But she let out a violent sneeze that made her throw it in April's direction. Luckily, April ducked and watched the fireball hitting the doorway from another rooftop.
Ellie, Lee, Donna, and April looked back at Ella, who gave out an apologetic smile. Ellie, Lee, and Donna applauded Ella's fire magic demonstration while April held up a score card that read number ten on her notebook.
Then, Lee began to rotate two streams of water around each other with her blue glowing hands. She proceeded to form a swirling whirlpool and tossed it high in the air, exploding it into a shower of rain around herself, her sisters, and her friend.
Ellie, Ella, and Donna applauded Lee's water magic demonstration while April held up a score card that read number ten on her notebook.
Lastly, Ellie concentrated on her air magic with her orange glowing hands. She carefully levitated herself in mid-air and began spinning herself around into a rapid tornado, blowing high winds around her sisters and her friend.
Ella, Lee, and Donna applauded Ellie's air magic demonstration while April held up a score card that read number ten on her notebook.
In the Crete Fortress, the Lotus Ninjas began demonstrating their elemental magic in front of Saldana inside the dojo.
Ellie summoned the wind around her. She motioned her hands upwards, sending the wind above her and creating it into a medium-sized cyclone in a circular motion. Lee surrounded streams of water encircling around her and released a swing of water-shaped blades as quick as lightning at the training dummies. Donna was surrounded by the colorful flower petals that took the shapes of snakes. She moved her hands swiftly with her fingers pointing at the training dummies, causing her plants to slither forward and restrained the training dummies. Ella shot out two fireballs at the last training dummies, burning them into flames from the palms of her hands.
"You all excelled your magic very well." Saldana said in a congratulatory manner as she walked in front of her four daughters. "But always promise me two rules: stay in the shadows at all times to avoid danger and do not expose your magic no matter what."
"Hai, mother." Lee, Ella, Donna, and Ellie nodded.
The Lotus Ninjas made their bedrooms, changing into their nighttime attire. Then, they gathered together inside Lee's bedroom as they already discussed their amazing magic practice and their trusted secret with April.
"Woohoo!" Ellie cheered. "My mind is literally blown! We mastered your magic!"
"Oh yeah. We were amazing!" Donna exclaimed.
"And don't forget awesome!" Lee said.
"I want more, guys!" Ella confessed. "I got the taste of magic and it's way too good to give up on!"
"You're right!" Lee said. "Now, all we have to do is to combine our magic and our ninjutsu skills together. Except for tomorrow night. We'll do it the day after."
"Why not?" Ellie asked.
"Because that night is family pizza night." Lee stated.
"Oh yeah." Donna said.
"That's right." Ella said.
"Forgot about that." Ellie said.
