Chapter 29 First Strike

La and Tzeke were instructed by Eris to gather up as many crystals as they could. The two siblings called upon their followers to aid them and working together in secret they gathered a large amount of crystals. Eris used her powers to locate a couple of Leviathans that were on the sea floor, but we're still fairly intact. She cleaned and repaired the Leviathans with her powers and gave them to La and Tzeke. The siblings and their followers installed the crystals into the robotic war machines and reactivated them.

Eris then used her powers to direct the machines towards Atlantica and they began to attack the undersea kingdom with deadly blasts of exploding energy. The blasts hit some buildings causing them to either explode or collapse killing several Merpeople and other sea creatures. The Leviathans swam into the city and began to wreck havoc with their massive claws destroying buildings and killing anyone unfortunate enough to be grabbed by their claws.

Palace guards raced out with spears and swords to combat the monsters, but their weapons couldn't pierce their armored shells and a few dozen quickly met their ends by the claws. It seemed like the Leviathans were unstoppable. Then King Triton swam onto the scene with his trident and fired a great energy blast from it that ripped a hole through the head of one Leviathan causing it to deactivate as it collapsed to the sea floor. King Triton fired another blast at the second Leviathan ripping it's left claw off and forced the big machine to swim away and retreat.

With the threat dealt with King Triton turned his attention to the destroyed Leviathan to examine it. The old kind recognized the Leviathan from the days of the war with Atlantis and knew who most likely sent it. King Triton began to give orders to his forces.

"Some of you tend to the wounded and help with repairs. The rest of you follow that monster and search for the Kingdom of Atlantis. They are the ones responsible for all this and we must be a stop to them before they launch another attack against us or the surface world. If they want war then they shall have war!" Said King Triton.

The guards did as they were instructed.

"All too easy." Said Eris as she watched the whole scene unfold from the shadows.

Soon there would be war.
