"Mike, what's going on?" Jennifer Hayes asked.

"The Mind Flayer needs more agents," Mike explained. Jennifer released a scream.

There was a knock on the door. Mike swung his front door open, wearing what appeared to be a friendly grin. Lucas and Will were waiting on the other side of the door. The spy. "Hey, guys," Mike said.

"Hey," Lucas responded. "You were supposed to come over, but you never did. Will told me he was supposed to come over once you got home, but he never got a call from you. So, here we are now."

Will sensed something was off. He instinctively grabbed the back of his neck. "Sorry," Mike said. "I slept in. Please, come in."

"Okay," Lucas said. Before Lucas could enter the house, Will grabbed Lucas's arm. Will had a deer-in-the-headlights-esque expression.

"Something is going on with Mike," Will said. "I can feel it."

"You're just being paranoid," Lucas brushed off.

"The Upside-Down isn't near," Lucas said. "El closed the gate. There's no way the Upside-Down is close. Come on."

"I feel tingling in my neck," Will confessed. "It only goes off when the Upside-Down is near."

Lucas yanked his arm free. He entered the house. "Help yourself to whatever you can find in the kitchen," Mike called. Will stood in the doorway of the house. Every part of his body was telling him to not go inside. However, Will slowly entered the house. You're just being paranoid.

There was a knock on Eleven's door. She peaked through the blinds, seeing Max. Eleven wasn't supposed to let anyone in while Hopper was out, but this was Max. Eleven opened the door. "Hey," Max said. "Can I come in? Billy isn't working today so he's home."

"Sure," Eleven said. Max entered the house. Eleven locked the door back, causing her to receive a confused look from Max. "Safety."

"Fair," Max responded with a shrug. "Lucas and Will are over at Mike's house, and I didn't want to be the only girl. Dustin is missing in action, so I came here. This should be fun. I don't think you and I have ever hung out just us two before."

"I didn't have many girl friends," Eleven responded.

"So, you've never had a girl's day?" Max asked. Eleven shook her head. "You're missing out. There's more to life than the boys. I know–, we should go to the mall. The bus stops nearby."

"I'm not supposed to go to the mall," Eleven responded. "It's too crowded."

"Rules are made to be broken," Max said. "Come on! We probably won't even be back before Hopper gets off work."

"So, what do you want to do?" Mike asked. He, Lucas, and Will had just entered the basement.

"We could play D&D," Will suggested.

"We're missing Dustin," Lucas argued. Keep the spy in your house.

"I think that's a great idea," Mike said. He was smiling more than normal.

"You sure?" Lucas asked. "I mean, it's possible, but D&D with three people isn't that fun.,"

"I'm positive," Mike snapped. Disturbingly, he kept his smile as he said that.

"Okay," Lucas said, a little startled. "I'll get the dice."

Lucas disappeared into the washing machine room. Mike turned around to make eye contact with Will. Will could feel himself shrinking under Mike's gaze. Usually, Mike's gaze felt warm and loving. However, today his eyes were cold and lifeless.

"Is everything okay?" Will asked.

"Yeah," Mike said. "Why?"

"Something feels different about you," Will confessed. Mike slowly made his way toward Will. Will's eyes widened and became glossy.

"Do I make you nervous?" Mike whispered. Will didn't respond. Mike's small shrank into a gentle grin. Mike's right hand grabbed Will's right palm. Will was taken aback by how cold Mike was. "Because you make me nervous. You are the most handsome man I have ever met in my life."

In any other situation, Will would blush redder than a tomato. However, right now, Will Byerswass terrified. Mike placed his hands on Will's face. Will shivered under his touch. It was as if his face was dunked into the waters around Antarctica. Mike looked deep into Will's eyes. Will didn't see the love in those eyes that he usually saw. Mike's eyes were cold.

"A little help would be nice," Lucas shouted. Mike removed his hands and broke eye contact.

"I'll give you a hand," Mike called. Lucas emerged from the washing machine room. Mike jogged into the room Lucas exited. Lucas read Will's face like a book. Lucas had never seen his friend so scared.

"This is so cool," Max said. When the girls got done at the mall, Max came over for a sleepover. That's when Eleven got the idea to spy on people using her Upside-Down vision. Mike was their first target.

"I need silence, please," Eleven requested.

"Sorry," Max whispered. The two girls sat with their legs crossed in Eleven's room. Eleven put on the blindfold and focused on Mike.

"I see him," Eleven said. "He's not alone. He's with a girl."

"He's cheating on Will?" Max asked.

"Mike, where are we?" Jennifer Hayes asked. "Mike, I'm scared."

Eleven couldn't tell where they were. Eleven slowly approached Mike and the girl.

"The Mind Flayer needs more agents," Mike explained. Eleven couldn't see what Jennifer saw, but she heard that scream. It was the most fear-filled scream Eleven had ever heard.

Eleven quickly removed her blindfold. Eleven panted heavily. "What is it?" Max asked.

"I think Mike is in trouble," Eleven confessed.
