Taking him back to the car they arrived in, they open the trunk to reveal Merle, knocked out cold.
"What the hell is this?" Rick questioned.
"My brother, we ran into him in Woodbury," said Merle.
"What happened to him?" asked Rick.
"I had to knock him out," says Naruto.
Daryl and Naruto look at each other for a second before Naruto tells Rick, "Merle was the one who kidnapped Glenn and Maggie".
"What!?" exclaimed Rick.
"We're going to lock him in one of the cells for now," Daryl mentions.
"His people back at Woodbury know where we are, where this prison is, he might know what they could be plotting," says Naruto.
As they take Merle's unconscious body inside Naruto gets to know Tyreese and his group a little more.
He finds out that Sasha is Tyreese's sister and that Ben is Allen's son and that he had lost his wife, Ben's mother Donna, while making their way inside this prison.
Naruto expresses his condolences and everyone gets situated inside the prison.
Once inside; Naruto, Daryl, Michonne and Rick make their way to Merle's cell as he is regaining consciousness.
"Wake up!" Rick yells at Merle.
"Well if it ain't officer friendly" laughs Merle as he sits up.
"Pay attention will ya" says Daryl.
Naruto steps up to Merle and asks him directly; "So what do you want Merle?".
"What?" Merle says in confusion.
"Do you want to stay here with your brother or do you want to go back with your buddies? Because right now those are your only options" states Naruto".
"What kind of a question is that? They ain't taking me back at Woodbury" says Merle.
"Then you should know what that means. That means you work with us now. Some people here don't think you're capable of doing that, your brothers the only reason you're not dead already" adds Naruto.
"You want me to beg, I ain't begging you, none of you" Merle says with defiance.
"We don't want you to" interrupts Rick, "Just tell us what your people are planning".
The group is starting to lose their patience with Merle and Michonne speaks up, mentioning that they expect the governor to retaliate against them, they just wanted the specifics; their numbers, weapons, ammo and the like.
Merle looks over to Daryl and says, "fine".
He proceeds to inform the group about the governor, the town of Woodbury, how it was formed and how they got all the weapons they did; they had stolen them off scattered military forces by ambushing them.
This revelation worries Rick, if they have this kind of firepower they could easily take over the prison (mentions Rick).
Daryl agrees, but Michonne and Naruto differ.
"Not really" Naruto says, "By what Merle said the town only consists of less than 80 people and only about half are actually combatants. We just have to make it harder to take this place than its worth".
As Naruto is saying this everyone agrees.
Currently their entire group consists of; Rick, Naruto, Daryl, Glenn, Axel, Oscar, Hershel, Lori, Beth, Carol, Maggie, Carl, Sophia and Michonne and if you count Merle, Tyreese, Sasha, Ben, and Allen that makes their numbers 19 not counting the baby Judith.
Rick, Naruto, Daryl and Michonne all come to an understanding and realize that they would have to tell this to the rest of the group.
They leave Merle locked in his cell and go to inform everyone else of the situation.
Rick gathers everyone in the cafeteria and they fill in the rest of the group on the possible threat.
"We'll have to hold out," says Rick.
He looks over to Tyreese's group and tells them, "I know this is asking a lot of you guys, but if you leave there's no guarantee it's any safer out there".
Tyreese's group all agree to stick by them and help them defend this place.
Naruto goes over the plan with them.
In order to fortify the prison.
One group including; Naruto, Sasha, Tyreese, Oscar and Daryl started by closing up the wall that was down in the farside of the prison, officially sealing the prison off from the outside.
During this they also clear the prison of the few remaining walkers roaming around.
While Naruto's group does this another, including; Rick, Michonne, Hershel, Glenn, Maggie, Beth, Carl, Carol, Axel, Ben and Allen are out front in the courtyard, putting up covers to protect them from bullets.
Carol is chatting with Axel and the two newcomers, Allen and his son Ben.
"Didn't you miss your brother?" Carol asks Axel. "Hell, no. He had a real money problem" answers Axel. "What kind of problem?", "He didn't lend me any".
As they are all laughing at Axel's joke, suddenly gunfire is heard and the group is immediately stunned at the sight of Ben lying dead on the ground with a bullet in his head.
Axel and Carol immediately run back into the prison and take cover behind some wooden pallets.
They don't notice until they are already behind cover, but Ben's father Allen was left behind.
He is in shock and drops to his knees, distraught by his son's death he begins to tear up until he too is shot and killed exactly where his son was.
Maggie, Glenn, Beth and Carl move fast and pass around some guns to Axel and Carol who notice someone in the guard tower shooting at them.
Rick and Hershel who are outside by the front fence are also under gunfire from someone in the forest hiding behind trees.
Rick is behind the fence and takes cover under a small wooden bridge, while Hershel ducks into the tall grass.
Michonne is also in the fields, but manages to find good cover behind a giant bus.
The governor and his men are opening fire on everyone in the prison.
Together the group in the courtyard manage to take out the guy in the tower.
When the gunfire finally stops a car can be heard approaching the prison and it breaks through the front fence into the field.
The governor looks on in amusement at this when suddenly the back of the car opens and lets loose a bunch of walkers onto the field.
Rick is angered by this but before he can shoot back at them he comes under fire and is forced to take cover again.
Feeling a sense of accomplishment the governor and his men leave the prison.
Michonne and Glenn rush over to help Hershel up and get him out of the fields.
Rick is surrounded by walkers and runs out of ammo, being forced up against the fence by a walker.
Just before he is bitten he sees a shuriken go right through the head of the walker that was in front of him.
It's Naruto and Daryl who arrive just in time to help him.
The trio all nod at each other and the remainder of the group manage to get out of the fields and behind the second fence in the courtyard.
They all manage to get back inside the cell block and discuss their next course of action.
Inside, Carol is calmly explaining the deaths of Ben and Allen to Sasha and Tyreese.
The siblings reminisce on the time they had first met Ben and Allen along with the families mother, Donna, who also died here.
As the rest of the group is planning their next move Merele speaks up from the other room behind his cell, "That truck through the fence thing, that's just him ringing the doorbell.
We might have some thick walls to hide behind, but he's got the guns and the numbers.
And if he takes the high ground around this place, shoot, he could just starve us out if he wanted to".
Naruto speaks up and mentions they're not leaving this place.
"So what do we do?" asks Glenn.
"Like I said earlier, we stick to the plan and defend this place. When it gets dark outside a few of us can clear the walkers in the field" says Naruto.
"That sounds good and all, but we have another problem" interrupts Rick.
"We're running low on ammo, the truth is we couldn't take out the walkers in the field even if we wanted to, let alone defend ourselves against another attack" says Rick.
"So we need ammo, any idea where we could find some?" asked Naruto.
"There's a couple places I know of in town where we might find some" mentions Rick.
"Then we should leave tonight, we don't want to risk being gone for too long and the governor coming back" said Naruto.
Later that night Rick takes Naruto and Michonne into town in search of weapons and ammo.
Before they leave Rick makes sure to have a heartfelt goodbye with his family.
He holds the newborn Judith in his arms before handing her over to Lori and kissing them both on the head.
Lori didn't want Rick to go again, but this time he had to since he was the only one who knew where to find ammo.
Carl privately expresses his reservations about the trustworthiness of Michonne to Rick.
"Do you trust Naruto?" Rick asked Carl.
"Yeah" he answered.
"Well me too and he seems to trust Michonne, so we'll give her a chance" said Rick.
"And Merle?" questioned Carl.
"We'll see" Rick says as he hugs Carl and tells him to take care of his mom and sister while he's gone.
Rick also makes sure to leave Daryl in charge and ask him to look out for his family as he makes his way out of the prison where Naruto and Michonne were waiting for him.
Rick drives them to his hometown, and finds that the sheriff's station he worked at has been cleared out of weapons.
Knowing he gave out several gun permits to local businesses, they go to the town's center but find it booby trapped.
"Someone's creative" says Naruto as he passes by a walker stuck in a trap.
Suddenly a masked gunman from a roof demands they drop their weapons, but this leads to a gunfight.
"Hold him here, I'll get up there and take him out," Naruto tells Rick and Michonne.
As the shootout continues the man on the roof is suddenly kicked from behind by Naruto and sent falling down.
He crashes down and Rick approaches the man.
"He's wearing body armor. He's alive" says Rick.
"Do we care?" responds Michonne.
Rick pulls the man's mask off only to discover it is Morgan Jones, the first person Rick met after waking from a coma following the apocalypse.
"You know him?" Naruto asks after coming down from the roof and seeing Rick's reaction.
"Yeah" answers Rick.
They take Morgan to his apartment, finding a large stash of guns and ammo.
"Looks like we found what we're looking for," said Naruto.
As Rick is setting Morgan down he suddenly remembers, "Jesus, he has a son" he says.
The three all look at each other already assuming the reason why they haven't seen the son already.
"We're gonna wait for him to wake up. Make sure he's okay" said Rick. "He tried to kill us," protested Michonne.
"He told us to go. He didn't know who we were" rebutled Rick.
"He tried to kill us and we didn't leave him for the walkers. He's had a good day. He doesn't need half of these guns. We do".
As Rick and Michonne go back and forth Naruto tells them he's going to take a look around outside.
Naruto takes a walk around the small town, still amazed and extremely intrigued by all the technology of this world.
He finds a baby store and obtains a crib and other supplies for Lori's baby.
As he's leaving the store he passes by a mirror and for the first time notices something.
He looks young.
Far younger than what he remembers himself to be.
"I look like I did after The Fourth Great Ninja War" Naruto thinks to himself as he pulls out a picture of his family.
It was a small picture of Hinata, Boruto and Himiwari.
For some reason in the back of his mind he always felt that no matter where his family was they were safe, his instinct had never been wrong before.
Meanwhile back with Rick and Michonne, Morgan wakes up, and instinctively tries to stab Rick before he calms him down.
They both apologize for failing to keep in contact by walkie-talkie after Rick left.
Morgan mourns the loss of his son, Duane, when he was bitten by Morgan's undead wife, who he couldn't bring himself to kill before.
Since then, Morgan has found a purpose by keeping the town center and nearby buildings clear of walkers.
Rick insists he come with them to the prison, but Morgan refuses, claiming he didn't want to watch everyone die.
Ultimately Morgan does allow Rick and Michonne to take some of his weapons.
They make their way outside as Naruto is making his way back.
Morgan is alarmed until Rick informs them he's with them.
Naruto apologizes to Morgan for kicking him off the roof, but Morgan tells him to never be sorry.
A response he was not expecting to hear.
Rick, Naruto, and Michonne gather the weapons and depart.
As they return to the vehicle, Rick confides to Naruto that he still doesn't trust Michonne.
"You trusted Tyreese and his group" mentions Naruto.
"I think she's with us," adds Naruto.
This puts Rick's mind at ease, for some reason he trusts Naruto, he gives out the aura of a leader.
Michonne later talks to Rick, she admits she used to have episodes where she would talk to her dead boyfriend.
As they drive back, Rick decides to put all his mistrust behind him and give Michonne and Merle a chance, realizing it took a lot for Michonne to admit to him what she just did.
We cut to the Governor readying Woodbury for an all out attack on the prison.
Civilians, including adolescents and the disabled, are given weapons and taught to use them, in preparation for combat.
Andrea is disturbed by this and asks to leave and negotiate a peace with the prison, but The Governor discourages her, implying that she will not be welcomed back if she leaves.
Ultimately Andrea decides to go to the prison despite the governor's disapproval.
Andrea's arrival at the prison is met with distrust, particularly from Daryl, who is the temporary leader while Rick and Naruto are gone.
He handles her harshly while searching her for weapons.
After catching up on the deaths the group has suffered, she warns them that Woodbury is getting ready for a war and offers to negotiate a truce.
As she is doing this the gate leading into the corridors of the prison is heard opening.
In walks Rick, Michonne and Naruto, with bags full of guns and ammo.
Daryl walks over to help them set the guns down as Rick and Michonne stare in confusion at Andrea.
Naruto can sense the tension in the room and moves to Daryl's side as Rick and Michonne approach Andrea.
"Wasn't this girl in Woodbury?" Naruto whispers over to Daryl.
"Yeah, we know her," answered Daryl.
"Welcome back," Rick told Andrea, "Are you alone?" he continued.
"Yes, I came as soon as I found out it was you guys in the shoot-out at Woodbury" explains Andrea.
"That was days ago," says Michonne.
"I told you, I came as soon as I could".
Everyone notices the familiarity between Andrea and Michonne and Rick asks, "Do you two know each other".
They begin to explain their relationship and how they've survived together since she was separated from the group on the farm.
Andrea again begins to propose a truce between the two groups. Rick for the first time in his role as leader is unsure and he turns to Nartuo for answers.
Naruto notices and speaks up, grabbing Andrea's attention.
"What makes you think this man wants to negotiate? Did he say that?" asked Naruto.
"No," answered Andrea.
"Then why did you come here?" demanded Rick.
"Because he's gearing up for war. The people are terrified. They see you as killers and they're training to attack" Andrea says.
"Then let them come, we only attacked Woodbury because they were holding Glenn and Maggie captive. Then they came here and attacked us, so if they want to attack again you tell them that anyone who comes can consider themselves dead" states Naruto.
Andrea turns to Rick, Daryl and even Glenn who says, "We've taken too much shit for too long. He wants a war? He's got one".
"We have to work this out" Andrea pleads for the last time.
Believing that peace is not an option, Rick tells Andrea to help them sneak inside Woodbury for a surprise attack, but she refuses.
With this they state they have nothing left to talk and Rick makes his way towards the cells to see his family.
Michonne later relates to Andrea her story of how Merle was sent by The Governor to kill her, demonstrating that he won't allow anyone to leave or live who isn't under his control.
Naruto and Daryl make their way to Merle and open his cell.
They were determined to change Merle's perspective and convince him to help them.
"That blonde bitch still out there?" asked Merle, referring to Andrea.
Naruto ignores the question and tells him, "Merle, I can see it in you.
A sense of honor and loyalty buried beneath all that tough exterior.
You can make a difference, but not by following your current path".
"You got a funny way of convincing someone, talkin' about protection' and honor. This world don't work that way, kid" says Merle.
"Yeah, I get it. It's rough out here, but that's all the more reason to stick with those you trust the most, like your brother. You don't have to play nice with anyone here, just prove you're on our side through your actions" states Naruto.
Merle pauses, looking conflicted.
"You think you can just talk me into joining y'all on the only chance at survival I got?" he said.
"Survival isn't just about staying alive, Merle. It's about the choices we make while you are. The people we protect, the lives we touch. You have the power to be more than just a pawn. Together, you and your brother can make it work here, make it a home, it'll just take time" says Naruto.
Though skeptical at first, Naruto's heartfelt words and unwavering determination begin to resonate with Merle.
Naruto leaves Daryl and Merle to talk this out.
Andrea is visiting Judith and congratulates Lori on her baby girl.
When Andrea asked how her birth was, Lori mentioned what Naruto did for her.
With this Andrea began to understand why the group trusted Naruto as much as they did.
Andrea was also happy to see Sophia and when finding out how she survived, she was even more convinced in Naruto's leadership.
She makes her way to Carol quietly pressures her to assassinate The Governor in his sleep.
This leaves Andrea perplexed.
Once she leaves the group gives Andrea a car for her return trip to Woodbury, where she is again greeted with an array of weapons pointed at her.
She gives The Governor a full report and later that night, in the governors bedroom while he is asleep, Andrea brings a knife to The Governor's throat and contemplates killing him but cannot bring herself to do so.
Back at the prison, Beth begins singing in hopes of boosting the morale of the group.
Whilst Beth sings, Naruto talks to Rick, Daryl, Glenn and Hershel.
Together they come to a conclusion and agree that a few of them would go to meet with the governor and negotiate a truce.
