"Cant you believe it, Max? We're getting not one, not two, but three new campers today!" David, the ginger man with fluffy hair sticking up at the top of his head and a brown vest covered in pride flags and pins beamed. He looked like he had just gotten back from hiking, and waited patiently. "Yep. Really, truly horrifying." Max looked down, slipping his small hands into the large pockets of his black hoodie. "Are you afraid of making a few new friends?" David asked, bending down to the boys level slightly. As he perked up to see the bus heading their direction, David jumped up and ran towards it. "Dumbass, you're gonna get yourself hit!" Max shouted, to no avail. As David stopped himself only a few inches before the bus, quartermaster kept driving and ran the man over.
"Kids are here." The old man said flatly. By his looks, Max thought he was a raging homophobe who would threaten to burn his pride flags down and vote for trump, yet, he raised much more questions than answers every interaction they had. Max took a few steps back, flipping his spiky black hair in order to have a good view of the new campers. As David got up, stumbling and wincing in pain, he dusted himself off and stood Infront of the bus.
A small girl with turquoise colored hair jumped out the bus, landing on all fours. She wore red, dirty overalls and was covered head to toe in bandages and colorful bandaids. Her hands hand two gloves with paws on them and she had wolf ears stuck to her turquoise, messy hair and a fake tail on her back. "Ooh, yeah! smell that nature! That's the stuff!" She rolled around on the dirt, as she grinned David and Max could notice her scarily sharp canines, resembling a wolf. "Well, hello there! You must be Nikki. My names David!" The ginger walked over to her, a smile on his face. She sat up immediately upon being greeted by the man. "My pronouns are he/him! I'll be your camp counselor. What are your p-" just as David was about to finish, Nikki opened her mouth widely and latched her sharp canines deep into David's lanky wrist. He screeched like a little girl, and shook his arm rapidly to get her off.
Max started chuckling, which turned into laughter. He looked over at the bus, and a young kid had already gotten off. They looked horrified, they had a turtleneck yellow camp shirt, with a brown lab coat over it alongside a non-binary and xenogender pride flag on it. Their nails were painted pure black, and bisexual flag colored earrings could be seen on their ears. They looked oddly alike to Neil Ciceriega, even having the same hair and brown color. All that was left to complete their look was to give them a pair of glasses. They had a white bag with mushrooms and a leave slung over their shoulders. The kid looked around, "What.. what is this place?" They asked. "Arf! Sorry 'bout that hand by the way, just exerting dominance you know how it goes!" Nikki stood up and smiled.
"Is this... science camp?" The kid raised one of their fingers up, silver rings covering them. "No, silly! This is adventure camp! Ad-ven-ture!" Nikki sounded out. "Only the best place for us therians!" She looked at the kid, as he sweated nervously. "But.. I thought this was science and gender identity camp?" The kid muttered. David walked over to him, trying not to wince at the burning sensation in his arm. "Well, hello there, you must be Neil! My pronouns are he/him!" He extended his arm out for a hand shake, 2 light streams of blood dripping down it. "Okay, I think I am going to be sick." Neil blinked, their vision seeping into a state of blurriness.
-
"Wake up!" Nikki pounced onto Neil, making them open their eyes quickly. "Ah? What- where am I?" They say up. "Oh, thank mother nature you're okay!" David rushed over, "I am so, so sorry for that." Neil looked down at what would have been Davids bite mark, instead it was bandages up. Neil sighed of relief, "I'm okay. But... what is this place? This isn't science camp?" They climbed out of the cot with a frown and walked out the infirmary tent. He looked at it, a huge pride flag on the middle of it. "Well, you certainly got the 'gender identity' part of your camp." Max shrugged, Neil jumped back in shock as they saw him appear out of no where. "Well, Neil, I can assure you that this a science camp. We offer a wide variety of camps and activities here at Camp Campbell!" David balled his fists and put his hands on his hips, looking up at the waving green flag with 'CAMPE DIEM' plastered in yellow. He did his little hand gesture which he called the salute, causing Max to look over and roll his eyes. "When will this moron learn..." he muttered.
"Oh! I can't forget, we still haven't given our new campers a tour of this place! Let's do so now! Apologies for the incident earlier, Neil." David looked down in pity, "Nikki, you should really apologize for Neil. Look what you've done to him-" Neil cut him off, "Uhm.. Actually, I use he/they pronouns and I'm non-binary.. sometimes I tend to prefer they over he, though." Neil explained, his eyebrows furrowed. "Why, I'm so terribly sorry, Neil! I really should have been more considerate!" David pleaded for forgiveness, afterwards taking them on a tour.
"This place is so swag!" Nikki jumped, "Exactly! Let me take you to our mess hall where you'll meet my co-counselor, Gwen! She uses she/they, by the way." David hopped along happily, his fluffy hair bouncing up and down as he took a step. "Gwen's just like me! Except I'm a demigirl and use some neopronouns!" Nikki jumped along on all fours, Max eyed them a couple times. "Neopronouns? What type of them?" He asked, "Well, normal ones I just use she/they/he/it" it followed behind David, "but my neopronouns are pup/paw/wolf!" Max shrugged slightly and looked over at Neil, who looked both angry and concerned.
David opened the door to the mess hall, "Goodmorning Gwen!" He paused, as the mess hall was completely trashed. "GET DOWN FROM THERE, SPACE KID!" Gwen shouted, she had short and dark red hair with her sides dyed neon purple. She wore the same green counselor shirt with a tree on it which David had, and looked extremely alt with long eyeliner on her soft purple eyes. Gwen shouted again, "NURF! You don't crank SHIT!!" David ran over quickly, "Gwen! What happened?" He asked urgently, as he looked around at the tomatoes and eggs splattered against the walls, "Space Kids just.. pushing me to my limits again." The campers looked up to see Space kid, the kid with a fishbowl over their head, crash against the floor. "Well, at least the pride flags unharmed" Another kid blurted out.
"Gwen! We have new campers to introduce and orientate!" David looked down and made sure Neil and Nikki didn't run away. "Oh, right.. damnit, baka." Gwen murmured under her breath and bit her tongue. Max looked up at David, "Or.. you can solve the conflict between Preston and Nurf." Max pointed out, looking back at two kids who looked like they were about to throw hands, a taller teen with dyed blue and blond hair, alongside lesbian pride pins on her shirt had money in her hands and began cheering them on. "What is going on over there??" David jumped, then ran over. "Who are all these people??" Neil asked. "I asked for science and gender identity camp!" He began to get the crazy eyes. "Look, kid..." Gwen rubbed her temples, "I know this isn't-" David cut them off, "Oh, Gwen! Look what I found!" He jumped up out of happiness, carrying a mega-sized disk in his hand.
"I found the video! The original, made by the great Cameron Campbell!" He beamed in joy, before a certain look of guilt dawned down on him. He looked down at the disk yearningly, tears welling up in his eyes. "David, don't tell me your gonna fucking cry because Campbell was cancelled on twitter for being extremely transphobic... again." Max walked over to them, sighing. "I know what happened to Mr. Campbell..." he began to break down, the waterfalls in his eyes couldn't be held back any longer as they poured out all of his pent-up emotions. "David, come here..." Gwen gave him a tight hug as he sobbed emotionally. "Andddd... this is my 13th reason." Max gagged and raised an eyebrow, as he turned around to walk outdoors. He swept his long and dark emo bangs out of his face in order to see better.
"Ouch!" He tripped, as he looked In front of himself he saw Nikki crawling beside him. "Oops, sorry!" He growled, sniffing the dirt and gripping it with her 'paws'. "Seriously!! what is wrong with.." Max looked down at her Kandi bracelets, "Like 'em? Can't wait to ruin 'em!!" Nikki pounced onto him before running away on all fours, chuckling to herself. Max winced in pain and dusted himself off, cursing roughly under his breath without stop. "Ugh. These people are so weird." He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. Max walked himself to the forest, trailing deeper and deeper inside. He found it was the only escape away from the others, others like him, yes.. but others none the less. The cruel boy would want to have nothing to do with them, he searched for his go-to spot, the small pond.
Max settled down at the dock, staring out into the calm waters. He breathed out, relaxing his face as it softened naturally. The boy touched the Monokuma clip in his spiky hair, making sure it was still intact. He buried his arms into his black hoodie, a reoccurring habit, and shut his eyes tight.
