"What do you think?"
Ereshkigal steps out onto the grassy field and lets out a gasp. It was a breathtaking view, like nothing she'd seen before.
The waterfall under the night sky reminded her of the souls in the underworld. The shimmering golden light illuminated the entire area. The fireflies flickering in the dim light near the lake made the sight even more beautiful.
It was a truly magnificent sight...
Ereshkigal stopped short, whether out of awe or surprise, she simply clenched her teeth. But one thing was for certain, the light in her eyes was fading. Her unusual behavior did not go unnoticed by her guest. "Is something wrong, Ereshkigal?" A worried voice inquired.
Ereshkigal shook her head, not wanting to worry her friend. "I'm sorry, it's just... different than I expected."
"Were you perhaps hoping for something else?"
"I..." Ereshkigal lowers her head.
Sensing her pain, her friend held her hand gently, smiling and without prying into her affairs, changed the subject. After all, what were friends for? "Tell me what's on your mind? I'm all ears."
"I did something terrible." Ereshkigal replies, clutching her arm. "And I don't know how to fix it."
"What did you do?"
Ereshkigal didn't have an answer. Or rather, she couldn't. She threw her head back and laughed, finding the whole ordeal ridiculous. The corners of her lips dropped as she lifted her head, sneering. "No, you wouldn't understand. Not after what I've done." Her voice almost breaking, she continued, "If she found out," Ereshkigal cupped her face in both hands, trembling. "She..."
"Ereshkigal, it's okay, I'm here. Just breathe." A reassuring hand rested on her shoulder. "Take your time and start again."
Ereshkigal turned to her friend and grabbed her arm, "Promise me! Promise me you won't tell a soul!" Ereshkigal pleaded, tears streaming down her face.
"I won't tell anyone, I swear."
"She promised me..." Ereshkigal said, dropping her hand in defeat. "She said she would..."
"I can't believe you," Ishtar spat, narrowing her eyes menacingly. "Mark my words, you will pay for this."
Without sparing her a second glance, Ereshkigal pointed the blade at her throat. "You shouldn't have come here in the first place, sister."
She swung her weapon down, the blade piercing through its target, slicing cleanly off-
A shiver ran down her spine. The cold, piercing stare back at her - how could she forget? After a century, the two of them had been reunited once again.
This time as servants.
"It is so good to see you again, dear sister. I missed you."
Ereshkigal's body was shaking as she straightened her clothing, "I have to go, I'm sorry."
"Wait, Ereshkigal!"
The Waterfall was the last thing she wanted to think about. As soon as she laid her eyes on Ishtar in Chaldea, an unsettling feeling washed over her. A curse, yes, this had to be a curse. How else could Ishtar have found her in the first place?
Just as she was contemplating her next move, a familiar face approached her.
According to the legends, the goddess Ishtar was a greedy, spiteful woman with no heart of her own. Unable to understand the concept of tranquility in the human race, she wreaked havoc wherever she went. In a way, the legends were not wrong, for Ereshkigal was often at odds with the goddess.
The truth, though, was far worse.
Ereshkigal froze to the spot, unable to move. It was her own carelessness that had caused this, and now she was paying the price for it.
"Found you."
A/n: pretend Babylonia never happened except for ishtar's descent (recollection of her journey) into the underworld. AS IN NADA
trigger warning for degen stuff, dubious consent, slight blood and torture, yandere? i might change the rating later to nsfw (M) and yes the summary is exactly what is sounds like; pure filth. prequel to my other story: A veil for a bride to be. im serious. ishtar goes ham on eresh.i actually had this story on my computer since Oct 10, 2021. only took like... 3-4 years to post since stuff happened.
its worthy noting, from the summary alone that there WILL be a choking scene and suggestive themes, dubcon. way easier to write choking with actual experience. i wrote this story without taking into account what happened in Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia.
so basically, after eons after ishtar's descent into the underworld and her death at the hands of her sister, you can imagine her anger.
