Chapter 2 - Welcome to Hell
The very first thing that Naruto was greeted with when his eyes finally opened, was a sight that would forever be burned into his mind. Nay, it would be something that would stick around forever, even in his dreamless nights.
Around the massive, burnt crater that he found himself in, was a pile of dead bodies, all of which looked mangled beyond recognition. His eyes widened, and he felt his heart skip a beat as he glanced around, wiping his head so quickly that he could feel his neck creak from the speed.
Dead bodies… dead bodies… everywhere!
Some of them looked to be nothing but a smouldering mess. Some of them didn't even have flesh left on their bones, and their very bones seemed to be forever scarred into the ground like in a horror movie.
Yet…
Squinting his eyes, he looked at the destruction littering so close to the burning crater, taking a close look at the separated limbs from the charred remains around him.
Now that he saw more… every single body looked… inhuman. From the limbs that remained intact from the destruction around… his mind could scarcely comprehend them.
Some had such elongated fingers that they looked like a monster. Others… well, their limb was so large that could only mean that it came from a large… creature.
Finally, his nostrils flared outwards, and the grotesque sights before his eyes were mixed with an even fouler smell.
*RETCH*
He had to close his eyes and take a few deep breaths to calm himself down, otherwise, he might lose whatever contents were in his stomach at the time. Finally, after a few moments, Naruto had managed to calm his stomach, and his mind finally registered his surroundings.
And his eyes widened as he saw the dominating red sky, and broken, rundown buildings that were littered with graffiti, posters and crude language. He could feel his skin crawling in revulsion as the very air around him was… tainted by something thick, and dangerous. As a sage… well, sage-in-training; he was able to feel the nature around him.
Normally, nature was always there to blanket him like a warm blanket on a cold winter night. But this… this wasn't the same.
This felt like it was trying to conform to his body, to wrap around and smother him, unwilling to even let him have a chance to breathe, and it didn't feel peaceful at all. It felt like it was at war with something.
Closing his eyes once more, Naruto concentrated hard; trying to find the core of his chakra.
After a few moments, he found it; it felt heavier than before, and no longer was it a sky-blue colour, instead it was predominantly red with sparse scatters of sky-blue. But that didn't matter, gritting his teeth, Naruto did his best to coat his body with his dense chakra before giving a loud, mental roar as he dispelled it.
A large pulse of power rippled off him, the deep red, tainted chakra seemingly distorted the very air around him, and the tainted nature of the air around him burst like a bubble, causing him to exhale deeply, finally feeling completely free of the horrid embrace.
"Wh-where," Naruto croaked out, before wrapping his hand around his throat and coughing, hoping to clear the awful tickle in his throat, "Where am I?" He blinked again as he finally heard his voice.
It… didn't sound like him, at least… not fully. It sounded like his voice got… deeper, and there was a familiar, sinister undertone that he had come to recognise and even admire.
The voice of Kurama…
Suddenly, his eyes widened, and a small wave of panic washed over him. Closing his eyes, he pulled all of his willpower into screaming out; 'Kurama! Talk to me, buddy!'
He waited… and he waited…
'No…' he thought to himself, feeling tears starting to form in his eyes, 'Kurama… please,' he hoped this was a joke.
But the longer the silence dominated around him, the harder his heart started to thump within his chest, and the stronger the dread became within his stomach.
Maybe… maybe he was asleep! He had to be!
Maybe… maybe he was pulling a prank on him! He could only imagine the uproaring laughter of the Kurama after falling for it.
But…
Somewhere deep down, in his very soul… he knew that wasn't right.
Kurama was gone.
Giving a broken chuckle that could send shivers down even the most steadfast person, Naruto slowly stood up, his legs quivering as he did so. A small frown marred his face as his body trembled. Something felt… wrong.
But he ignored it, simply thinking that it was mind playing tricks on him. And in doing so, he didn't even notice that his body felt, thinner than before, and his centre of gravity had shifted downwards slightly.
"This… this has to be a joke," he muttered to himself, shaking his head. Slowly reaching up and grabbing a hold of a large piece of broken rubble.
Then, his eyes widened once again as his eyes caught the sight. His hands… were different.
They weren't his hands!
Trembling, he brought his arms up, hoping that his hands were hidden behind something. But no. Those clawed paws of his, were indeed his hands, the sharp obsidian black nails seemed to absorb the dim lighting around him, "No…" he muttered, his heart thudding against his ribcage.
Scrambling up from the large, three-foot-deep crater, Naruto spotted a rundown store that seemed to be well past its current usage date, before quickly sprinting over towards the cracked, chipped glass, although he had to catch himself more than a few times as his balance was all over the shop. Finally, he panted heavily as his hand came to rest against the cold, jagged stone brickwork of the abandoned, decayed shop, "Right… this is it," he muttered to himself, before gulping heavily and forcing his body to step in front of the jagged glass.
Instead of a ragged human looking back at him, all Naruto could see was his new appearance. If he had to guestimate, he had to be roughly 5'4, roughly half a foot or so shorter than what he was what should've been moments ago. Instead of skin, what greeted his eyes - which looked eerily canine-like - was soft, dull orange fur, with a white underside of his snout, and chin, although he still had a roguish mop of golden-blonde hair. Poking free from his mouth were gleaming fangs that looked like they could easily chew through steel. Somehow, the clothing from when he was… alive, had come along with him, a light grey shirt with long black undersleeves, a black, high collar sleeveless jacket that looked roguish now, along with a deeper, yet still dull orange pants that had a few pockets on his thighs, and he still had his black leggings on underneath.
What didn't stay the same was the fact that his shoes were now destroyed, unable to contain his large, clawed paws that had sharp, three-inch obsidian nails that gently dug into the ground.
And, catching sight of an extra something behind him, he looked over his shoulder, and his eyes became as wide as dinner plates as he noticed a large, fluffy orange tail gently swaying behind him, with a bright, pristine white tip that went down to just about a quarter length of his tail.
"What…" He muttered, his eyes nearly popping out of his skull. Slowly reaching up, Naruto's fingers ran across his snout, almost tapping it to truly believe it was there, before his hands trailed up, running across his smooth fur. Although a small, grunting purr escaped his maw as his hands brushed against his sensitive whiskers, before slowly reaching the base of his vulpine ears.
His ears waggled rather cutely as his fingers came close to the base of the large ears, "Oh my, Kami…" he whispered, still horrified, "I'm… a demon?" he muttered, his hands clenching into the sides of his head, his nails digging into his flesh, but the pain didn't even register to him.
He had to be. How else would his appearance change this drastically? If this wasn't Heaven, then he had to assume that this was the opposite, this must've been Hell…
Instead of having a pleasant afterlife, with his loved ones that had passed before him… he was stuck here, becoming something that he tried so hard to prove that he wasn't back when he was younger.
And… it was all because of…
"SAINT PETER!" Naruto snarled, thick, bubbly saliva dripping from his open maw, his glistening fangs exposed, and his dull orange fur hackling menacingly; and unseen to him, his chakra spiked and flared wildly, cratering the very ground underneath him, causing the very ground to tremble forebodingly, easily alerting whatever other demons were able to sense energy output.
He hated this… he HATED this!
It… was all that blonde, angelic fuckers fault that he was here!
Ooh, just so help him Kami, but when he got his claws on that dumb blonde in front of Heaven's gates…
He would fucking TEAR HIM TO SHREDS!
And he would fucking LAUGH as he did so!
Suddenly his ears pricked and bent backwards as he heard footfalls approaching him. Snapping his head towards where he heard the noises, his eyes narrowed dangerously as he saw two demons, both much taller than he was, and much bulkier, looking like a weird cross of a snake and a horse.
*SNARRLLL*
For the poor demons that dared approach him; they didn't stand a chance.
The only thing that they were able to see from the absolute demon before they were sliced to shreds, was the large, looming shadow steadily growing off of his form, the one tail suddenly splitting off into nine different offshoots that flailed wildly around, and deep, crazed crimson slitted eyes that could burn through solid steel with the sheer amount of malice radiating from within.
With one simple swipe of a tail; their existence had suddenly become nothingness.
BOOOOOOM
Queen Bee-lzebub, or simply Bee for short; was not having a great time, that much was for certain. There was an air of annoyance simply radiating off her being as she gently flew across the skies of the Pride Ring, and she ignored the looks of stunned onlookers down below, snapping photos and muttering to themselves about being able to see one of the Seven Deadly Sins in person.
Why was the self-proclaimed 'H.B.I.C' so annoyed?
Well, it was simple. And that was for the fact that Belphegor had stopped giving her freebies for using their personal stash of party drugs at the various parties that she liked to hold every so often.
And that was simply aggravating, never before had she been denied using the party drugs of the other Deadly Sin. So why now of all times?
Shaking her head, the Sin of Gluttony could only hope that she could find a solid substitute for the hard party drugs found in the deep reaches of the Pride Ring.
However, as the insectoid, fox-like demon continued to fly about in the open sky, her eyes were scanning down below diligently; a sudden pulse of power washed over her, "Woah," she grunted out, the physical pressure and force of the power able to momentarily stun her in place. Quickly shaking her head, her little wings continued to buzz behind her, keeping her afloat in the air, "Holy shit," she muttered, her bright pink eyes so wide they looked almost comical.
Whatever, or wherever that pulse of power originated from… that tasted fucking foul!
And not the good type of foul that she liked to indulge in either. Like, that was seriously fucked up energy!
It was so foul in fact that it nearly corroded the colours in her hair and stomach to a dull grey and black, something that hadn't happened since she had seen Satan's wrath first-hand.
In the distance, she saw a bright red tail flail about wildly, before slamming down into the ground, creating a bright explosion of pure energy before a thick shockwave rocketed off from the surrounding explosion.
And of course, mere moments later, the speed of sound finally proved itself to be slower than what one could see.
BOOOOOOM
The ear-drum bursting explosion nearly knocked her off balance, but she managed to use her secondary wings to stabilise herself in the sky. Her eyes were locked onto the incoming debris, quickly calculating its trajectory, she effortlessly dodged the large, boulder-sized chunks of debris of what used to be chunks of the brimstone ground and jagged brickwork of a building.
Glancing around, her eyes widened considerably as she noticed what seemed to be three entire blocks completely flattened down to the ground, like a controlled detonation had gone horribly wrong; or maybe even close to a mini nuclear explosion having gone off. She could even see scattering ashes of what used to be civilians slowly scattering in the powerful gust of wind kicked up by the shockwave.
"What the fuck is going on over there?" She questioned herself, before deciding to act upon her curiosity.
Within a bright flash of light, Beelzebub was gone from sight; having teleported directly into what seemed to be a warzone right now.
With a small *pop* and flash of dull pink dust, Beelzebub appeared in a massive dome-like crater that stretched a few dozen feet each way across, and seemingly dozens upon dozens of feet deep, with large chunks of rubble, ash and small shards of glass that had somehow survived the explosion and following shockwave.
But, now being so close to this complete carnage, and being more in tune with energy and powers than other demons, Bee's wings shuddered and split at the tips, her vibrant colours turned dull, and her fur hackled and ears prickled as the monstrous energy lingered heavily in the air.
Instincts that were over millennia-old were now rearing their heads up once more.
Whatever this was… it was fucking dangerous, and this power seemed to rival a mature Overlord, but it was so raw… untamed, and simply wild.
She might've been a party girl, but she was still one of the Deadly Sins, and she wasn't about to let whatever this was cause problems for Hell.
*CRACK*
Snapping her head to the left so quickly that it nearly caused her whiplash, Bee's eyes widened once more and she took a step backwards in sheer shock when she saw a demon standing just a few feet away from her.
All she could see through the thick smoke and haze that filled the crater were deep crimson eyes that held nothing but malice, power and insanity within, along with a large shadow of spiked, flailing tails.
Flaring her power all the way up to its limit, Bee's once fox-like appearance shifted and changed to become nearly a dozen times bigger than her regular form, and her appearance shifted to be more insect-like, her four arms, and her legs slamming into the ground with such force to make the ground tremble and groan underneath her, with her eyes becoming larger, her hair becoming a raging fire that could rival the sun in sheer heat, and a third eye snapping open on her forehead, glowing a chilling deep pink colour, radiating power.
However, suddenly, she heard the sound of panting, and whilst she didn't let up her power, nor her overwhelming power, she kept her eyes locked onto the deep crimson slitted eyes.
Suddenly, those crimson eyes disappeared from view, and the tails slowly receded back into the shadows, before a terrible long, pregnant silence filled the area, keeping Bee tensed, ready to strike should the need arise.
Yet, a few moments later, the thickened smoke and haze slowly dissipated, and as it slowly faded away in the wind, she could see what had caused all of these problems.
"What the fuck," she muttered, her voice having a distinct echoing buzz to it as she laid eyes upon… a simple demon?
Slowly pulling her power back to a more controlled level, yet still flaring her aura out to create a pressure dense enough to keep the figure down on the ground, Bee slowly, and carefully approached the downed demon, before bending down and rolling him onto his back.
This… demon, was a Kitsune demon like her. That little fact alone was enough to make her curious.
Kitsune demons were incredibly rare; she could only count on one hand the amount that she had seen - herself not included - but the fact that this person looked so young, with the energy they were exuding even backed that up.
And he must've been new here, considering that she could still smell the remnants of holy energy on him.
Suddenly, her ears pricked up again, and she looked over her head and saw glittering red dust slowly forming before it was blown away by a new figure that suddenly appeared, "What in the Unholy Hell is going on here!?"
That figure turned out to be Lucifer himself, Hell's head honcho, and from the looks of it, as powerful Angelic power radiated off of his form giving him a terrifying visage, and all six of his angelic wings flared up behind him; it appeared that he also took this massive burst of power seriously.
Either that, or it was her own power flare that grabbed his attention; after all, they were in his Ring.
"Lucifer," Bee greeted cordially to the leader of Hell.
Instantly, Lucifer's eyes locked onto Bee, and he allowed himself to settle down slightly, knowing that one of the other Sins was here must've meant that everything was under control, at least, relatively.
"Beelzebub," Lucifer greeted, nodding his head slightly towards the eccentric party-going Sin. Then, his eyes locked onto the downed form of Naruto, "Was he the cause of this?" he asked, hesitantly, his hand clutching onto his staff that was glowing bright with angelic power.
Bee simply nodded her head towards Lucifer, "Yes, but it seems that he has calmed down, or knocked himself into a coma,"
"I see," Lucifer murmured, taking a deep breath, he looked towards the downed form of Naruto again, before closing his eyes and trying to connect with the energy output that was feeling radiating off of him.
Immediately, the image of a great beast entered his mind. A beast that had odd rabbit-like ears, awfully human-like front paws, deep orange fur that could make even the sunset jealous, along with nine large, powerful swaying tails behind him.
"Kyuubi," he muttered, all too familiar with one of the most powerful branches of demons in the entire realm. He shook his head, then chuckled softly, "Looks like we have another Kitsune demon in Hell, what's that, the fourth one now, including you?"
All that Bee did was nod her head.
"Heh, if I didn't know you, I would say that you were trying to build an army," Lucifer joked lightly, before shaking his head. Sighing softly, Lucifer stopped exuding his angelic power, knowing that it was more than likely causing deep unrest through the rest of the Ring, "Keep an eye on him, and let me know if you need any help," he said, before placing both hands on his staff once more, "I got, uh, important… things to do. Important, yeah..." he said awkwardly.
With that, glittering red dust formed around him, before enveloping him completely, before simply dissipating away with a small breeze.
He didn't dare talk about his obsession with rubber ducks in front of anyone. And if anyone found out; he would probably die of embarrassment.
With Bee all alone with the knocked-out Kitsune demon, she couldn't help but sigh, before gently running a hand through the golden-blonde locks of the admittedly handsome demon, marvelling at how soft his hair was.
Shaking her head, she grabbed hold of Naruto's shoulders and concentrated.
Moments later, bright pink dust slowly formed around both of them, quickly covering up their forms like a blanket before slowly trickling back down to the ground, revealing that both of them were not there anymore, only leaving a massive crater filled with rubble and ash behind.
END CHAPTER
So, I hope you liked this chapter! As you can tell, this story and Fallen Angel could be viewed as mirror stories of each other. In this, Naruto will be more... I don't know, violent, maybe a bit off the goose compared to the Angelic version in the other fic; and this one would have a genuine reason to go to the Hotel too, although, might not take too kindly to seeing Peter again.
Also, I do hope you like the imagery of his demon form, and the tease to his more demonic one. I know that Sinner demons cannot leave the Pride Ring, but perhaps Bee could grant him special access *if he promises to bee~have* - see what I did there ;)
Also, I did introduce Lucifer, of course, a more serious one to bely the situation that was at hand, but he might come around again~
