Who I am

Haylei asked for a oneshot of Snow getting mad at Emma for calling her Mary Margaret instead of mom.

Snow slammed the polish down in the counter furiously. She hadn't felt so mad since Neverland. She and Emma had had a fight. Despite being warned not to mess with Regina while she was mad at Emma she'd gone anyway and tried to straighten things out. Had Snow and David not arrived the second they did Regina would have had her heart. She heard footsteps come into the room behind her.

"Still mad at me then huh?"

"Mad?" Snow said, turning round and fighting not to yell. "Emma, mad doesn't even cover it. Your father and I told you not to go near Regina, that you would just enrage her more. But you had to go and risk your life."

"Please, you can't talk. You did the exact same thing after killing Cora." Emma responded. Snow stood up, fuming.

"I knew you were going to bring that up. That was completely different. You spared a woman's life, I killed one-"

"Yeah, Cora. She was going to kill us all."

"We are not going over that again. This is about you going to Regina, not me! How would Henry have felt if you had been killed by her? You don't think Emma."

"Don't you dare bring Henry into this Mary Margaret…"

"That is not my name!" Snow yelled with such ferocity that Emma was stunned into silence, and even Snow was shocked.

"My name is Snow White. And even then, I am your mother! We have been through enough by now for me to have earned that title back. I am your mother, Emma Swan and don't you forget it. You show me some respect." Emma blinked, completely shocked. This was not the timid little school teacher she had met when she first arrived in Storybrooke. This was the woman who had shot an ogre in the eye to stop it from killing her. This was the woman who whacked her dad with a rock (or a jewellery box depending on the version) to steal his ring before she wore that ring as his wife. The woman who would have killed Mulan to get back a compass so they could go home. Never before had the saying "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out" been so clear in Emma's head. She nodded slowly.

"I'm sorry…mom." She said quietly. Snow had calmed down somewhat.

"That's better." She said gently. "Why don't you go clean the glass for me?" Emma bobbed her head, picking up the cleaner and some kitchen roll before shuffling out of the room. Snow allowed herself a small smile. Mary Margaret was gone, and she wasn't ever coming back.
