Family trait
OnceUponAChloe asked for a oneshot of Emma, Henry and Neal spending time together when Neal's a little older and Snow and David being immensely proud.
Emma heard her brother's cries as she came through the front door and sprinted through to the living room. Henry was helping him up, looking pretty guilty.
"What's going on here?" Emma asked, coming over and picking four year old Neal up who cried into her shoulder.
"Neal asked me to teach him some sword fighting. I didn't mean to knock him over, he just moved at the wrong time." Henry explained.
"It's ok kid, these things happen." Emma consoled him. "Hey buddy, you hurt anywhere?" She asked her little brother. Neal shook his head, refusing to move his head from her shoulder. "Good. Well, first thing's first. No sword fighting in the house…I can't believe I said that but there we are. Second, Henry, you're only beginning to learn yourself. And it's your first time babysitting. Maybe it's best you wait a bit longer before showing Neal the ropes. However, I've got an hour before I have to go back to the station. We can go out to the garden and work on some skills." Neal suddenly perked up and wiggled until Emma put him down. He then took her hand and pulled her out to the back garden with Henry following behind.
They were completely unaware that half an hour into their "lesson" Snow and David had arrived back home. David peered out of the kitchen window and saw them all. He smiled and waved Snow over.
"Aww." She commented, watching Emma help the boys. "She's got a real knack for that, you know."
"Of course she does. How could any daughter of mine not? The boys are picking it up nicely as well. Must take after me too." David said with a grin.
"Well, could certainly be worse. Henry could have taken after his other grandpa…" David shuddered.
"Don't even joke about that. Thankfully, he seems to be more like our side of the family. (AN Nealfire/Rumple fans no offence was meant!) Snow nodded.
"Yeah. We have some pretty good kids in this family, don't we?" David nodded in reply, knowing she was including Emma in that.
"Of course we do, they're all related to me."
