Missing you

A guest asked for some daddy Charming fluff. I had an idea for this, but could I ask that in future people be a bit more specific with their ideas? Helps me create the right chapter for you :) But at the same time please avoid asking for second parts of things unless you really really want one. I quite like keeping this just oneshots ^^ thanks guys! I've set this just after Neal's death.

"Snow what am I supposed to do?" David whispered. "She's just lying on her bed in a ball staring at the wall and it's horrible." He told her over the phone.

"Charming, you need to talk to her. I know what you're thinking and no, you can't just wait till I get home and I'll do it. I could be a few hours yet. I know you feel that's she's more at ease with me but that won't change unless you show her you're there. She needs you now." Snow told him. David sighed.

"As usual you're right." He grumbled. "Text me to let me know how you got on. I love you." He told her before hanging up. He looked up nervously at the ceiling where Emma's room was. Slowly, he made his way up the stairs towards her.

He knocked.

"Emma?" He called. She gave no answer, not a sound. David peeped his head through the door. The sight made his heart break. Emma just looked so…broken. It wasn't like her at all. "Oh Emma." He said quietly, entering the room. He moved over to the bed and crouched beside her. From the little of her face he could see she'd been crying quite a lot. "Honey, it's going to be ok…"

"Is it?" She croaked. David just looked at her, lost for words to comfort her. "Nothing can ever be the same again. Everything's different now. I just don't know what to do with myself…" She whimpered. David reached out and gently squeezed her shoulder.

"Yes, it is different." He admitted. "And yes, right now it hurts. But that doesn't mean it will hurt forever." Emma looked up at him, and just for a moment David could see the little girl she had once been.

"It won't?" She asked feebly. "Because right now it, well, it sucks." She told him. "I'd just got used to him being back in mine and Henry's lives…I'd just begun to like it. And now he's gone. And he won't ever come back." At that Emma started wailing again. David couldn't stand it. He reached out and pulled her close to him.

"Hey, hey." He said gently. "Don't be like that sweetheart. You and Henry, you'll both be alright. I'll make sure of it." He assured her. Emma pushed away from him, sitting up and wiping the tears away from her eyes.

"I feel so selfish." She said quietly. "Here I am feeling sorry for myself when Rumple's lost his son…Henry's lost his father. I have no right to sit here moping…"

"You have every right." Charming told her. "Yes, Henry and Rumple have to deal with the loss in their lives too, but that doesn't mean it hurt you any less. You were hurt in a different way and it's ok to feel upset. Just don't hide yourself away like this. Your mother and I, we want to help you. Please Emma. Let us." Charming pleaded with her. Emma looked over to him. She nodded, taking his hand and squeezing it. Letting him know that she had at least understood, and she would try and let him help.
