Best listen to mom

A guest asked for a oneshot of Snow and Charming having to punish Emma for talking to them rudely.

"I can't believe you did that!" Emma yelled furiously, storming into her parents' house.

"Well believe it, I wasn't just going to let you charge in there and have Regina blast you." Snow snapped back as she followed behind Emma, with Charming bringing up the rear carrying Neal.

"I have magic, and you have a baby to look after, what were you thinking?"

"Emma don't you dare try and tell me off." Snow said sternly. "I am your mother. Not the other way around, is that understood?"

"Well if you didn't go doing stupid things like that I wouldn't have to tell you off." Emma sniped.

"Emma," Charming said sternly after placing Neal in his Moses basket. "Your mother is right, don't talk to her like that. She is your mother, show her some respect."

"Some mother, you abandoned me, remember? You don't get to tell me what to do. Save that for your kid." Emma lashed out. A horrid silence fell over the room. Charming reached his hand out for Snow's shoulder, but she shrugged him off. Instead, she stepped forward to Emma.

"Abandoned you? No, Emma, you know damn well that is not what happened. I did what I had to do to stop Regina from killing you even though it tore my heart to shreds. And I did the same thing for you tonight. I wasn't about to just let Regina attempt to kill you because you're stubborn. If Henry had tried something like that you would have done the exact same thing."

"Henry is a child. I am-"

"My child." Snow cut in. "My child who needs to stop throwing herself into situations without thinking them through." Snow reprimanded her. Emma opened her mouth to argue back, but something about the look both her parents gave her made her think better of it. "In fact, I think you need to take a step back. Your father and you will swap positions at the station until you stop putting yourself in danger unnecessarily." Snow said perfectly calmly.

"What?!" Emma screeched. "That's…you can't do that! I was voted in as sheriff! You can't just decide that because you're my mother that's not the case anymore!" Emma pointed out.

"Oh, I'm not deciding as your mother. I'm deciding as queen. This isn't plain old Storybrooke anymore. I am not Mary Margaret. I am Snow White, Queen of this kingdom and I have decided that you are not sheriff. Don't like it? Tough!" Snow told her. Emma looked completely lost for words.

"We'll see." She grumbled, storming out of the house. Charming looked over to his wife.

"Can you actually do that?" He asked her.

"No." Snow replied. "But she doesn't need to know that."
