A second playmate

A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma asking Henry if he'd like to be a big brother.

Emma sat with a smile on her face, watching as Henry entertained Neal by making funny faces. She decided that now was as good a time as any to tell him.

"You're good at that." She commented from her spot on the couch. Henry stopped making the faces and turned to look at her.

"Good at what?" He asked.

"Good at making Neal smile." She told him. "It's a good thing to be able to do, keep a baby entertained."

"It's not tricky." Henry laughed. "He likes it when I stick my tongue out like this." Henry said, turning round and demonstrating how Neal giggled whenever he did it.

"Oh it's not tricky, is it?" Emma said, amused, as she came over and crouched beside the pair. "So you think you could just stick your tongue out at three in the morning and get a baby back to sleep, no problem?" Emma asked, ruffling his hair. Henry shrugged.

"I guess not. But I'm not with Neal at three in the morning, just during the day so all I have to do is make him laugh. Gran and Gramps do all the hard stuff." Emma bit her lip, suddenly nervous. She decided she'd have to tell him now or she'd never do it.

"Well…how would you feel about having two babies to make laugh?" She asked him. Henry looked back at her, confused.

"What do you mean?" He asked her.

"I'm going to have another baby Henry." Emma blurted out. She tried to gauge what her son was feeling at the new information. But he was being pretty hard to read. That was until he smiled.

"I like a challenge." He told her. Emma grinned, pulling her son into a massive hug.

"I love you, kid. And I always will. You know that, right?"

"Yeah. I love you too, mom." He replied. Emma just kept hugging him, she had the best son she could ever imagine.
