Neal sat at the table with his crayons in front of him trying to be brave and not cry. Mommy and daddy had gone to bring Emma back home and he was told to have her special "I'm sorry" picture ready for when she got back. He didn't mean to get Emma into trouble or make her upset. He just didn't want mommy and daddy to be mad at him. He focused hard on making her a very special picture. He wanted to make her smile seeing as he'd made her cry earlier. He'd asked Auntie Ella to help him with writing Emma's name on the picture. He still wasn't very good at writing he thought, and he tried to avoid doing it when he could. But he thought it would make Emma happy if he wrote her name on the picture he'd made. He'd decided to draw a picture of him and Emma playing in the park, because that's when he saw Emma laugh the most. He liked to see her laugh, it made him laugh too. He decided that's what he wanted to do with his sister forever, make her laugh. He never wanted to make her cry again.
