Kiss and make up
OnceUponAChloe asked for a oneshot of Emma walking in to find Charming getting ready to sleep on the couch. She decides to take Neal to stay at her place so they can work things out.
It had just been one of those days for Emma. Nothing seemed to be going right. The oven in her place had decided it didn't want to work today, and nobody would be able to fix it now until the morning at the earliest. The only blessing being Henry was with Regina so at least it was only her starting to feel peckish. Since she'd promised her mother she wouldn't get a microwave and just eat ready meals, she decided she'd just go round to their house and eat with them.
"Just me." She called as she came into the house. "Oven's on the blink, so I thought I'd come round here." She said, coming into the living room. She noticed only her dad was there, which was unusual for this time in the evening. She hoped she'd catch her mom cooking. "Where's mom and Neal?" She asked. Then she noticed her dad had brought a pillow and blanket down to the couch too. "Oh," Emma said, understanding. "You in the doghouse?" Charming nodded glumly.
"Yeah, they're both up in their rooms. Your mother trying to avoid me and Neal just trying to stay away from the fighting." Charming explained. "Apparently it's my fault the van's worn out because I drive too fast in it." He said, rolling his eyes. "Nothing to do with it being over thirty years old technically." Emma gave him a sympathetic smile. "Give me one minute." She said, heading for the stairs. Charming nodded gloomily, settling back against the couch.
Emma knocked on her brother's door before entering. "Just me kid." She said softly. "Doing ok?" Neal gave a brave little nod in response. "Well, don't worry. They're going to sort it all out tonight, because you're coming to mine for a sleepover. But first we're going to Granny's and you can eat whatever you want. So pack a bag and I'll meet you in the hall, ok?" Neal nodded enthusiastically, grabbing his school bag and emptying out the contents. Emma next went and knocked on her parents' room door.
"I told you Charming, I'm not interested." Was the cold response.
"Not dad." Emma said, coming into the room.
"Emma," Snow said, surprised. Her tone warming knowing it was her daughter. "What are you doing here?"
"My oven's on the blink so I thought I'd come round here and see what you guys were having."
"Oh sorry honey, we ate a little early tonight, I'll go downstairs and rustle something up…"
"No, no need mom. I'm taking Neal to stay at mine tonight and we're stopping off at Granny's on the way. That way you and dad can sort things out." Snow sighed.
"Emma, you really don't need to do that." Snow told her.
"Yes I do. I'll bring Neal back about lunchtime tomorrow, and by then I expect to see two parents who are back to making me queasy with the level of their love. Understood?" Emma said lightly. Snow smiled.
"Have a good time with your brother." She said, promising nothing. Even though she was sure they'd work it out. She knew she was being too stubborn, not that she'd admit that to Charming but she might accept his apology rather easily. Neal came out of his room with a bag ready. Snow kissed his head. "Be good for your sister." She instructed him.
"I will…please be nice with dad." He said quietly. Snow hugged him tightly.
"Don't worry honey. It's all going to be ok. Just have fun with your sister." Neal nodded as he and Emma walked down the stairs, only stopping to tell Charming what was happening. Snow left the door open as she sat back down on the bed. She knew she'd forgive Charming. And now they had an empty house.
