Teamwork
Just040Fun asked for a oneshot of Charming talking to Henry about going to Regina's vault in "lady of the lake".
"So," Charming said, placing a plate of macaroni and cheese in front of Henry. "Are we going to talk about you sneaking into your mom's vault?" Henry started to swirl some of the pasta around his plate and shrugged. "Well I'll take that as a yes. Henry, what were you thinking? You know your mom keeps a lot of dangerous stuff in there." Charming said gently.
"I know." Henry replied quietly. "But I could have helped bring Grandma and Emma back. I just miss them is all." He admitted. Charming came over and crouched down beside the boy.
"Hey," He said, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I miss them too. But you know something? They're going to come home. I'm going to make sure of it. But if they come back and Emma finds out I've been letting you do dangerous things she's not going to be very happy with me, is she?" He asked. Henry shook his head. "And your mom is awful handy with a gun and I'm not so sure she wouldn't use it on me in those circumstances." Charming joked, happy to see it made Henry smile a little. "Tell you what buddy, you have a lot of information from that book of yours. You know more of the stories than I do. We'll work this as a team. You give me the information, and I'll do all the stuff that might involve a little danger, alright?" Henry nodded.
"Deal." He said. David ruffled Henry's hair. "That's my boy. Now eat up your mac and cheese. You'll need to be alert afterwards!"
"Why?" Henry asked, intrigued.
"You'll see." David said with a smile as he carefully slipped the two wooden swords inside his rucksack.
