Ice

Spoilers from season 4 in this one! Anonymous asked for a oneshot of David's feeling whilst Emma was in the ice cave and his fear of the worst case scenario. Think you must have read my mind because I was planning on writing a similar oneshot for this series just changing a few details of the episode so I hope you don't mind I've combined mines with yours :). Since the new series has started, remember if there's a oneshot based from the new episodes you'd like to see me write just let me know!

She was freezing. His daughter was freezing to death and there was so little he could do about it. What made it worse was it was his fault she was there in the first place. Had he not been stupid enough to upset Elsa then she wouldn't be in there. What if they didn't get her out? What if she just froze to death in there? He didn't want to think like that, but he couldn't help it. He'd have to tell Snow. He'd have to watch as her heart broke just like his own would. They'd just got their daughter back and it felt like they were going to lose her again. What about Neal? He'd grow up hearing about a sister he never knew. He'd never get to know his amazing, courageous big sister…Charming shook his head. He wouldn't think like that. Emma wasn't going to freeze in there because he wouldn't let that happen. His daughter was not going to be trapped in that cave, he would save her, always.

He could feel the ice starting to blast away before he could see it. He poked his head into the hole Elsa had blasted into the cave. His heart leapt with joy. There she was, with Elsa helping her up. A lot paler than he would have perhaps liked, but most definitely alive. He immediately took his jacket off before reaching through the hole and helping Emma out. He wrapped his jacket around her frozen body before picking her up. He placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

"Oh Emma," He sighed. "I was so scared…never do that to me again!" Emma gave a faint smile in return.

"I can't promise anything." She said faintly. Charming just rolled his eyes.

"Trust me, there will be no more ice caves for you. Come on. Let's get you home and warmed up." He said carrying her off. He knew he'd save her. He couldn't let her die. Not his daughter. He still had far too many embarrassing dad moments left to tick off!
