Snow can be warm

Crowned Tiger and Lacorra asked for a oneshot of Some Snow from 4x02

"Hello." Snow said, coming into the curiously over full apartment. She caught sight of the stranger in the room. "Who are you?" She asked before she caught sight of Emma on the couch. "And why does Emma look like she's gone skinny dipping in the Atlantic in December?" Charming rubbed the back of his neck nervously, he'd been dreading telling Snow this.

Charming explained the whole situation to his wife, making sure he was careful explaining Elsa's role in the situation so Snow didn't floor her. When he was finished, something about the twitch in Snow's eye made Charming want to run for cover.

"And why did nobody think to tell me my daughter was possibly freezing to death?" Snow asked in that quiet voice that Charming knew meant trouble.

"It was a quick situation Snow. There wasn't any time to tell anyone that wasn't involved in the whole situation…"

"Involved in the whole situation? I'm her mother!"

"Mom, please don't argue with him. It's not his fault. Anyway, it doesn't matter now, I'm fine…"

"Fine?" Snow said, sounding unconvinced. She walked over to the bathroom and took a thermometer out of the medicine cabinet. She walked briskly back over to Emma and held it out. "Open." She ordered. Something about her tone made Emma realise it really wasn't a good idea to argue. Snow waited for the thermometer to beep, pulled it out and frowned at the result. "So far from fine." She grumbled. "Wait there." Snow left the room and when she next came back in she had four hot water bottles. "Move." She ordered Hook. He was the only one to try and argue. He pulled Emma a little closer.

"But we're exchanging body heat! I'm keeping her warm." He complained. Snow gave him such a cold look Hook thought he'd been the one stuck in the ice cave for a second.

"If you don't move in the next three seconds so help me Hook I'll break your arms." Snow said coolly. She was not in the mood to be messed with. Hook, sensing that this was not the time to test Snow, moved away, holding his hand and hook up defensively. Snow moved in and placed the hot water bottles strategically around Emma. Snow pulled back, taking Emma's still freezing face in her hands. "I could have lost you." Snow said, terrified. Emma looked back, feeling bad.

"You didn't though. I'm fine, really."

"But I should have known." Snow said, giving a pointed look to her husband and Hook. "But at least for a few weeks I don't need to worry about you going off and putting your life at risk." Snow told her. Emma looked confused.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Oh honey," Snow said smiling. "If you think you're leaving this apartment for the next few weeks you've had it. You will not be leaving here until not so much as a sniffle comes out of you."

"But mom, I haven't got a cold."…

One week later

"Thank you." Emma said huskily as Snow gently took away the old hot water bottle and replaced it with a fresh one.

"You're welcome honey." Snow said, coming over and moving some loose hair from Emma's forehead. "Need anything else?"

"Well I would say magic to heal myself but since you sneaked a potion into my tea to stop me using my own I guess that's not going to happen…"

"Emma, I already told you honey. There really is no cure for the common cold. Even magic. I knew you'd try and use your own and just hurt yourself. So until you're better no magic alright?"

"Fine." Emma huffed. Snow smiled and kissed her forehead.

"If you need anything I can give you I'll be in the living room, alright?" Emma nodded.

"K." She said, settling back down to try and sleep some more. It sucked being sick, but at least she now had a mom to look after her.
