Nathalie Shiffer asked for a oneshot of Emma getting hurt protecting little Neal.
Emma winced as she tried to move her shoulder. It was still badly bruised. Whale had said it could take a good few weeks for it to be back to normal. But to Emma it was totally worth it. Emma had taken her brother to the park, unaware that the Snow Queen had followed them. She was pushing him on the swings when Emma saw her. By then it was too late for a straight getaway. Her hand was already raised, the icy magic shooting out aiming for her brother. Emma didn't even think, she just knew she had to protect him. She dove in front of him, taking the full brunt of the magic. It was only her own magic that stopped her from completely freezing over. At that point Emma didn't even feel her own injury, adrenalin was pumping through her. She turned around to take her revenge on the woman who tried to hurt her brother but she was already gone. Neal started to cry, frightened. Not feeling safe anymore Emma had bundled him up and taken him straight home.
Only when her mom looked at her shoulder horrified did Emma remember she'd been hurt. She was quickly taken to the hospital where Whale did his best to patch her up.
A week on and yeah, her shoulder hurt like Hell every time she tried to move it. But she would have done the same thing every time. She took her role as big sister very seriously. And she would always protect her brother.
I know there's still plenty more requests to get through, and I promise they're coming!
