First taste of paradise

A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma serving Neal his first cup of hot cocoa with cinnamon.

Winter had truly hit Storybrooke. It was barely November and the snow had already began to fall. Emma was out doing some grocery shopping with Neal when it started to fall heavily. She sighed, it was going to be a nightmare getting back to her parents' place. They'd taken advantage of Storybrooke residents now being able to leave town to have a week's holiday in Hawaii leaving Emma with Neal. Henry had opted to stay in his and Emma's place, calling every day so Emma knew he was alright. Emma couldn't help but feel a little jealous of all three of them right now. Her parents sitting on the beach in Hawaii and her son warm and toasty indoors. Whilst she and her three year old brother had to trudge home in the horrendous snow. In fairness to her brother, he was being a little trooper. He didn't complain once. And Emma had the perfect reward for him.

"Finally!" She said, opening the door to the loft apartment and setting Neal down. "Come on buddy, let's get you warmed up." She said, helping him out of his jacket and welly boots before leading him into the kitchen and helping him onto one of the stools. "Something special for you today." She said excitedly.

"What?" Neal asked, bouncing a little.

"Wait and see." Emma teased, putting the kettle on. Neal was going to experience his first hot chocolate. Carefully, she put it together (with extra cream) and made sure it wasn't too hot before holding it to his lips. "Try this buddy." She said. Neal happily took a sip. Emma laughed as she pulled the mug back and saw his little cream moustache. "That good then?" Neal nodded enthusiastically. But then he seemed to be thinking. "What is it champ?"

"Something missing…" He said, looking at the drink. Of course! How could Emma be so silly?

"Wait here." She said, setting the drink down and going over to the cupboard. She pulled out the box with the sachets of cinnamon in them and brought one over, pouring it in the mug and stirring it in. "Here. I think you'll find this is what you were looking for."
