Modern world quiz
Ouat-Aholic asked for a oneshot of Emma hanging out with Elsa and her parents get worried and go looking for her.
"Hey." Emma said softly. Even so the woman jumped and turned looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights. "Only me." Emma said, cautiously coming closer. "I wanted to see how you were."
"I'm alright thank you." Elsa said, relaxing slightly. "This new land is very strange. I don't wish to stay here long. I just want to find Anna and return home."
"I understand." Emma said sympathetically. "Do you have somewhere to stay tonight?" Elsa shook her head.
"No, but I'm fine in the forest thank you. I'm pretty good at making my own shelter." She said with a small smile. Emma smiled in return.
"Well how about some company for a little bit then? I can answer any questions you have about this new land."
"That would be much appreciated." Elsa said gratefully.
Three hours later
Snow checked the clock anxiously.
"It's getting awful late." She sighed. "Emma should have been home ages ago. Normally she'd contact us if she was going to be so late. I don't like this Charming. Not when the Snow Queen is around." Charming nodded in agreement.
"No, I don't like it either. I tried calling her twice and got no answer. I'm going to go out and try to find her. It's too cold for her to be out there alone. She'd had enough experience of the cold for one week. Call me if she comes home." He said, grabbing his jacket. Snow nodded.
"Of course." She replied. Watching her husband leave.
"No, the cars don't move by themselves. They're not living creatures like horses are. They're machines, they need people to power them." Emma did her best to explain. When she offered to explain things to Elsa, she didn't think she'd still be sitting here over three hours later. She kicked herself for leaving her phone in her room. Now there was no way to contact anyone and let them know where she was.
"Is that a …car is it called?" Elsa said pointing to the edge of the forest. Emma nodded.
"Yeah, it is. Not sure why it's here though, most folks are settled for the night by now." She said.
"Emma!" She heard her father call out. Emma grimaced slightly. She must have worried them.
"Over here!" She called back. "Don't worry, I just lost track of time talking to Elsa!" She saw her father had taken out a torch and through that could see he was getting closer.
"I'm sorry." Elsa apologised. "Did I make you miss your curfew?"
"Curfew?" Emma asked, amused.
"Well yes, you're a princess are you not? Most royalty have curfews to keep them safe." Elsa stated. Emma smiled.
"Well yeah but just another difference of this land. He's just a worried dad is all." Emma explained. Elsa nodded in understanding as Charming came over.
"Both ok?" He asked them. Elsa and Emma nodded.
"Yeah, sorry, I left my phone back home. Elsa, are you sure you don't want to come back with us? We could make room it would be no trouble. Think of it as a royal visit." Emma joked.
"Well that's very kind. But honestly, I'm quite comfortable out here."
"If you're sure then." Emma sighed. "I'll see you around. If you have any more questions just find me."
"I will, thank you Emma."
"Any time." Emma then left with her father back to the car as he texted Snow to let her know Emma was fine.
"Although if you could bring your phone next time that would be great." Charming whispered. Emma rolled her eyes. Didn't seem to matter how old you were, parents always worried.
