Bad hair day

Gallaghergirl021 asked for a oneshot of Charming trying to do Emma's hair whilst Snow is away.

"Ok." Charming said to himself as the little six year old sat in front of him. "This can't be so hard…" He went to pick up one of the three brushes on the little table. I mean really, who needs three brushes!

"No daddy!" Emma scolded him. "We only use that brush when it's really tuggy." Emma picked up the brush that looked the softest out of the three. "This is the one mommy uses." She said. Charming took the brush off of Emma holding back a grimace. Maybe it was going to be trickier than he hoped. Snow was away for the weekend sorting out relations between the Enchanted Forest and Atlantica. Not that the royals didn't get on, but there had been issues with people of the Enchanted Forest fishing out some of the merfolk's friends. So Charming had been left to care for Emma by himself. He could have got her nanny to do it, but decided it was something he should really learn for himself. He carefully began to run the brush through Emma's thick blond curls. Emma only squirmed slightly, so he took that as a good sign that he wasn't hurting her. When he was done, he picked up one of Emma's ribbons.

"This next, yeah princess?" He asked her. Emma nodded in reply. Charming did his best to gather all of her hair neatly whilst sitting it in the ribbon. No matter what he tried she ended up looking strange, and Emma made her feelings on the matter perfectly clear. Eventually, he gave up. "How do you fancy wearing your hair down today angel?" He asked her.

"Ok." Emma said, swinging her legs off the stool and skipping away for breakfast. He set the brush back down beside the others and followed after her, never feeling so grateful for his short hair.
