TWs: You doing what You does best (disobeying what people tell him to do), and 'sharing' food, I guess. Stay safe :)
You was so bored. The blonde blinked slowly, glancing at the time on the wall.
Close to midnight, the witching hour. You wasn't overly superstitious, but he did like to tell those kinds of stories, especially to Clay.
He glanced at the figure across the room, slumped on the desk, fast asleep. His white cap was lop-sided, covering half of his face.
You huffed, also wanting to sleep, yet knew he had to keep watch over the drone before him. He crossed his arms, analyzing and poking at a few of its dents.
Clay had told him he found it next to Bing, which raised more questions than answers; why would Bing bring a known enemy to their base?
You was going to take it apart up until Pat told him not to.
"Bing says it's important." The brunette told him before leaving.
Well, despite what Pat said, You still unscrewed the casing. He made sure to be careful as he shone a flashlight, ensuring there was no tracker inside the thing that would lead the King and his army to them. There was no tracker, yet there was something else he noticed.
The blonde leaned back in his chair, wanting so badly to hook the thing up to his laptop and see what kind of juicy information it was holding.
'Ugh...' You groaned inwardly. He glanced over at Clay, who was still knocked out on the desk. He sighed, 'Yan better not have ditched me...'
He looked at the drone again. It was sitting there, red scanner on the lowest setting possible for brightness.
You bit his lip, 'No one has to know...'
Getting up, You grabbed his laptop and USB cable. Entering his passcode, he pulled the drone closer, tilting it so he could hook the other end of the USB into the drone's system.
He heard his notification sound, immediately turning down the volume, and clicking the box that popped up on his screen.
He hummed as he looked at the coded blue box on his screen.
Enter Password:
'Of course...' He frowned, thinking momentarily, 'If I were a scientist, what would I make my password...?'
He knew it was five letters, given that was the amount of boxes shown.
'Screw it.' He typed in the beginner letters.
1 2 3 4 5
The box turned green, and the password screen was replaced.
Welcome, DR. JOHN SPICER-RAINES
'Huh...' You quirked an eyebrow, 'He has a last name?'
The welcome screen went away, replacing itself with a bigger one. Files over files layered on the screen, all labeled, yet You had no idea what any of them were for.
'This might take days to go through!' He exasperated, scrolling through the window, 'First things first, I guess...'
He clicked on the cable icon, managing to connect the drone to his laptop.
Ding!
He perked up, looking at the new window with curious eyes.
'New transmission?' You thought as he clicked the Listen Now option. A crackling noise was heard from the speakers of the laptop. There was a tapping sound following it, a tiny poking of someone testing the microphone.
"Uh hello? If anyone can hear me-"
'Katya!?' You recognized that voice anywhere.
"Just know I'm safe for now. I'm uh, at the King's lab- in the sewers, somewhere in Mayfair." She spoke, keeping her voice down, "I think I was hypnotized. Sorry for leaving, and I'm sorry for staying, but I'm trying to get more information out of them, especially Edd; they've done something weird to him; he doesn't remember anything right. I'll come back as soon as I can, so don't worry. And Kim, if you happen to hear this, I love you so much and more. I have to go; goodbye, everyone."
The annoying crackling noise cut off, but You wished it would continue for a little bit more.
He glanced at the time; ten minutes past the witching hour.
'I have to tell someone about this...' You thought, getting up. He ensured Clay had a blanket covering him before leaving the room.
He found Yan, not in the cafeteria like he said he'd be, but in the monitor room, messing about with the computers.
"Yannnnnnniiii!" The blonde kept his voice on the down-low as he hugged his partner from behind, "I thought you said you were going to the mess hall."
"I did." He spoke, not taking his eyes off of the screens, "Got distracted."
"Distracted for thirty minutes...?" You teased, poking his cheek.
Yan sighed, glancing towards him, "Did you need something or have you come to mess with me again?"
"Mmh, both." The blonde grinned, letting go of the other as he noticed the two bagels on a paper towel nearby. He picked up the one that had a few bites taken out of it, "So, what are you up to?"
"Nothing, just checking the cameras." Yan flipped through them, squinting his eyes.
"Some are still alive? Sweet." You spoke with a mouthful of bagel.
"Don't speak with your mouth-" The ravenette finally took notice that the other was eating his bagel, "Why eat mine? I had a perfectly good uneaten bagel right beside it."
"Because your food tastes better." You shrugged.
"Wha-" Yan held a face, looking disgruntled, "Tell me why we're in this relationship again..."
"Because we're soulmates, destined to find each other through every life." You kneeled on the seat, leaning his arms against the back of it, "You said so yourself."
Yan stopped to look at him, "When have I said something so corny?"
"Six bottles of vodka would do it."
"Makes sense."
There was a moment of silence in which You realized what he wanted to tell Yan in the first place.
"I got something from the drone." He spoke.
"I thought Pat told you not to-"
"Mess with it, I know, but I couldn't help myself!" You huffed, "Anyway, there was a transmission. From Katya."
Yan froze, whipping his head to look at the blonde, "What?"
"Yeah! Apparently, she's fine. She's no longer hypnotized; she's in the Mayfair lab or something, and she's trying to gather information from them." You explained.
"Are you sure it's not a trick?" Yan asked.
"I'm sure! It was her voice; she sounded nervous and somewhat intent." You shrugged.
The Russian hummed, not entirely convinced, "Okay, I guess we'll wait for more information."
You knew his partner didn't believe him, but he wasn't going to make it into a debate at the moment. He was exhausted.
"I'm going to bed." The blonde stood up.
"Shouldn't you be watching that drone?" Yan questioned.
"It's literally been sitting there and hasn't done anything the whole time; I doubt it'll do something." You yawned, stretching his limbs. He was about to walk away but stopped in his tracks to place a quick peck on Yan's cheek, "You should also go to bed."
"I'll be there in 15," Yan uttered.
"Make it 10." With that, You exited the room.
'Как я люблю тебя...' The ravenette smiled gently, setting the monitors to sleep.

MY EDD PLUSH CAME IN :D
CHECK IT OUT ON MY INSTAGRAM
Fun Fact: I based their heights on the creators and their nationalities.
Edd is the tallest (6'3), then Matt (6'1), then Tord (5'9 or so), and Tom is the shortest (5'8 or so)
For the others, I base their heights on nationalities. Pau is from the Netherlands (average male height there is 6'). Pat is from Poland (remember that he's trans in this series, so he's shorter than the average, about 5'8 or so). Yan is from Russia (about 5'8). You is from Japan (about 5'7). Clay is from England (he's about 5'7).
