TWs: Excessive worrying, drama/tension. Stay safe :)
"I'm perfectly fine, Matthew; stop hovering over me," Bing spoke, trying to eat his breakfast in the cafeteria.
"I'm just making sure." Matt sheepishly smiled as he inched back over to where he had previously sat with his husband. He rested his hand in the palm of his hand, letting out a small sigh.
Tom looked up from his plate, furrowing his eyebrows, "What is it?"
"Have you ever felt so worried for someone that you're willing to move planets for them just to see them smile? Figuratively, of course."
Tom's green pixelated eyes widened ever so slightly. He thought about what was said as the green squares softened somewhat, "Yeah."
Matt hummed, glancing at Tom. His cheeks reddened as he realized why Tom stared at him so intensely, "Really...?"
"We've been together how many years now? I would be surprised if I haven't felt that way." Tom let out a small huff.
The ginger cracked a smile, "Me too."
The shorter reached his hand out, placing it upon Matt's, "Don't worry so much. We'll get them back in no time."
Matt frowned, averting his gaze towards his uncle, "I hope so."
Tom squeezed his hand gently, trying to reassure his partner. He felt a small press back. It didn't calm his nerves, especially when Matt didn't look at him.
He started to rub small circles on the palm of his hand. He wasn't much for optimism, but he could pretend for Matt.
Tord hummed, rewinding the transmission for the 15th time. You, Yan, Pau, and Clay stood off to the side watching him.
"He's been at it for an hour now," Yan spoke.
"You think we should say something?" You glanced at him.
Yan shrugged, "It's not a good thing when he gets like this."
"True." You nodded, crossing his arms.
Pau looked up at the sound of footsteps and the door opening, watching Pat walk in with a bag.
"Guess I'm not missing much." He muttered as he moved a few electronic parts to make space for the bag. Clay immediately pulled it closer to him.
"Which one's mine?" He asked.
"I always get you the mixed berry."
Clay grabbed the muffin and opened the packaging. He took a bite, then peered into the crinkly bag again, "Which one's my watuh?"
Tord let out a laugh, pulling him out of his stupor momentarily, "Watuh."
"It's not funny!" Clay frowned, pulling out a bottle of water.
The Norsk smirked, "I digress."
Pau smiled slightly as Tord's attention was drawn away from the computer. He took the USB out, slipping the casing back on the drone.
"It does sound like Katya." Tord spoke, "Still, we do need to be careful. She could be taken as a hostage if the King finds out."
The others nodded. Clay perked up, watching Tord pick up the drone, "What are we going to do with it?"
The leader stuffed it under his arm, "I'm taking it to Bing."
"What?" Yan raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure that's safe?"
"It's been almost a day, and it hasn't attacked anyone. Besides, we know what to do if it goes haywire." Tord gestured to the equipment in the room.
There were murmurs of agreement as Yan just nodded, still feeling uneasy. You bumped his shoulder, noticing the look on his face.
"You okay?" He whispered.
"Just fine." Yan merely glanced at him before exiting the room. The blonde frowned.
"He'll be fine." Tord tried to reassure, "I bet everyone is feeling disoriented from this whole ordeal."
"Right." You bobbed his head, watching as Tord left the room, Pau and Pat following.
"There's something wrong, isn't there?" Clay asked after a few moments.
"Yep."
"Do you know what it's about?" The brunette leaned on the counter.
"I have an idea..." You muttered, biting his lip.
"Are you-" Clay got cut off by You leaving the room abruptly, "gonna tell me..."
He sighed. Alone again.
"Doctor, do you mind explaining this?" Hellucard squinted his eyes at the laptop screen.
"What is it, exactly?" John asked.
"Are you blind? Look," The King pointed at a text on the screen, "There! Who did you send a transmission to!?"
"Uh..." John moved in place, fiddling with his hands. His gaze averted to Katya, who stood there frozen solid at the entrance of the Maintenance room.
"Oooh, drama..." Edd piped in as he sat in a wheeled chair.
"Who did I send it to...?" John echoed.
"That's the question, Doctor Scientist."
"Well, I sent it to... uhm..." John thought momentarily, feeling his heart drumming in his ribcage, "I sent it to... Joe."
"Joe?" Hellucard tilted his head.
"Yep, I was trying to see their progress of the device." John clasped his hands together, "Joe and Chester's teams both have successfully moved all of the parts! We can now begin building it."
Hellucard's eyes widen, "We can have the Doomsday Device up and running within the upcoming weeks..."
"I'm sorry... Doomsday Device? You people never told me anything about that." Edd perked up.
"It's not important to your plan." Hellucard rolled his eyes, "All you're here to do is to get rid of the Rebellion."
"I would think it's important to my plan. After I quote-un-quote defeat them, how do you expect us to live?" The tall brunette stood up.
"That's what the New World is for!"
"New... World?" Edd was more confused than ever.
"Know your place, Eddie. What I say goes. What you say doesn't matter. You are nothing. Everyone is nothing. Everything is nothing. Nothing matters, except for us to finally be happy and free of all our worries." Hellucard stood up from the testing table, feeling energized.
Edd's eyebrow twitched as his mouth was open to speak, and his face held bewilderment. He couldn't get the words out, just stammering instead. He watched as Hellucard left the room, "Asshole."
Edd stormed out of the room, leaving the two blondes alone. Katya took a step backward, making her way out of the room.
"Hey-" John spoke, prompting Katya to bolt out of the room, "Hey, come back here!"
Katya moved through the hallways, nearly running into Diwi.
"Heilig-!" Diwi shouted as he moved out of the way.
The pony-tailed blonde leaped into a random room, closing the door. Katya took a few breaths, calming herself down as she closed her eyes for a few seconds.
"Uh..." A voice echoed throughout the room.
Katya's eyes flew open, and she turned around to see a blue-haired woman with a tank top and leggings on, a spear in her hands as she looked to be annihilating a dummy.
"What are you doing in here, newbie?" Laurel asked.
Katya readjusted herself, crossing her arms and pulling a deadpan facial expression, "Long story."

I have a lot going on (mostly job stuff), so I'm not sure how it'll affect my non-existent schedule. Happy holidays if I don't update before Christmas, Hanukkah, or whatever.
I also published another story (if anyone is interested in Reverse: 1999, it's a pretty new game/fandom) [Not yet published on FFNet or Quotev]
