Grounded

RachelHxxx asked for a oneshot of Charming getting very annoyed with Emma and trying to ground her.

Snow heard the door close shut and knew it was her husband and daughter, home from their day at the station.

"Hey," She called to them as they entered the living room. "Have a good day?"

"Nope." Charming said sullenly. Snow didn't miss the eye roll Emma gave in return. "Three times this week now I've told somebody to wait before charging into something. And three times now somebody could have been hurt…"

"Oh we all know you're talking about me." Emma snapped. "There's no need to be so melodramatic.

"Emma." Snow said sternly. "Don't take that tone with your father." Emma opened her mouth to argue, but the look she received from both parents made her think otherwise.

"It's getting ridiculous Emma. The amount of times you could have been hurt this week…you need to start listening to me." Charming told her. Emma just snorted.

"Oh I listen. Then I ignore you because you expect me to hide behind things while you do all the work. I can look after myself." Emma told him, beginning to get annoyed.

"I am well aware you can look after yourself Emma, but I see no point in you putting yourself in harm's way unnecessarily."

"I don't think catching criminals counts as unnecessarily." Emma said sarcastically.

"Emma, stop with the attitude!" Charming shouted, finally having enough.

"I can have whatever attitude I damn well please. I am this town's sheriff…"

"So am I. Know what else I am? Your father!" Charming interrupted. He sighed, counting to ten. "Know what Emma. You have the week of, no buts. You are to stay at home with your mother and help look after Neal." There was silence for a second as Emma took in what her father said.

"Have you basically just tried to ground me for a week?" She asked. Charming shrugged.

"I guess I have. Except I haven't tried, Emma. I simply have. If that's the way you want to put it you're grounded for a week. No buts." Emma's eyes narrowed.

"You can't do that." She hissed. "I am not a child." Charming folded his arms across his chest, keeping his cool.

"No, but if you're going to act like one you shall be treated like one. Maybe after a week off duty you'll have learned to listen more." Emma looked to her mother for support, but she just raised an eyebrow. This was between Emma and her father.

"This is ridiculous!" Emma yelled. "But you know what, fine! I'll play along. I'll take a free holiday. You'll call by midday tomorrow needing my help." She grumbled, storming up to her room. Charming sighed, slumping down on the couch. Parenting did not get easier as time went on.
