A slip of the tongue
snowcharmingxox asked for a oneshot of Emma accidentally saying mom in 3x22 and Hook also saying Emma. This leaves Emma no choice but to tell her parents the truth.
"You're alive!" Emma shouted, happier than she thought she'd ever been. Emma launched herself into her mother's arms. Her mom wasn't dead. She still had her chance. A chance to be a daughter. Something wasn't right though. Her mom wasn't hugging her back. Emma pulled away, still grinning, tears shining in her eyes as she held onto her mom's shoulders.
"It would appear so…" Snow said awkwardly, looking at the over familiar stranger. "Thank you…" She added, before turning round and grinning at Red, hugging her with much more enthusiasm than Emma. Emma could almost feel her heart rip in two.
"Mom." She called out weakly. Snow froze in her hug with Red. She turned and looked to Emma.
"What did you just call me?" Emma's mouth fell open, she couldn't speak. She'd ruined everything!
"Emma!" Hook called, taking her hand so they could run, but Charming pointed his sword at Hook's throat.
"I thought her name was Leia." He said suspiciously. "You've been lying to us, haven't you?"
"Please, it's not what you think…"
"You will tell us the whole truth now or I will have to do something I'm sure I'll regret." Charming said sternly. Emma gulped. She did not like this side of her dad. She looked to Blue for help. Blue shook her head sadly.
"There is nothing I can do now. You must be honest." What Hook wouldn't give to swat that stupid little unhelpful fly.
"If I tell you the truth you won't believe me." Emma sighed.
"Try us." Snow said, coming over. "I heard you back there. You called me mom." Emma grimaced, she thought she'd got away with it. But Emma knew it was pointless lying, her super power was after all inherited from both her parents. Slowly, she nodded.
"My name isn't Princess Leia. It's Emma, Emma Swan. This isn't Prince Charles. His name is Killian Jones." Emma decided going with Captain Hook might not be the best idea. "We're from the future. Just over thirty years from now and another realm. We came through here by accident. We're trying to return home." Emma tried to stay as vague as possible. If they knew too much of the future it could wreck things even more.
"Why didn't you tell us this to begin with?" Charming quizzed them.
"Well to be fair mate it isn't exactly the most believable tale." Hook pointed out. Slowly, Charming lowered his sword.
"Yet, I believe you." He told them. "Strange things happen." He turned to Snow and Red. "Do you agree we can trust them?" Red and Snow nodded in agreement. "Excellent. Then we shall be on with our quest." Charming said, leading the way. Although the group had agreed to still trust the pair Charming would be keeping an extra close eye on them. Especially Killian. There was something about the man that made him feel, well, huffy and he didn't know why. Meanwhile, Snow stood alongside Emma.
"You still haven't explained why you called me mom." She said quietly so the others wouldn't hear.
"Oh." Emma mumbled. "It doesn't matter. Really…"
"I'm your mother, aren't I?" Snow asked. Emma tried to look away and not answer, but she could tell Snow wasn't going to give in. Emma gave a small nod.
"But that's all I can tell you. Really it'll muck up everything…"
"It's alright." Snow assured her. "I won't ask anymore…I'm just pretty amazed. I look forward to seeing you as a child." Snow said with a small wink. She moved on ahead sensing Emma's discomfort. Emma bit her lip and looked to the ground. Even if she wanted to tell Snow she couldn't. But of course Snow would never see her as a child. And no matter what she did in the past, Emma couldn't fix that.
