The abandoner returns
hohohoittime asked for a oneshot of Emma and Henry going for ice cream instead of Robin, Marion and Roland. She recognises the Snow Queen and a fight begins.
"Really, you don't have to do this. Granny's is just fine." Henry tried to insist. Emma rolled her eyes as she wrapped an arm around her son's shoulders.
"I know I don't have to. But I want to. You're my son and I want to take you for ice cream. I don't care if you're too old. I'm making up for lost time." Emma joked, opening the door for him. But the happy smile was wiped off her face as soon as she saw who was standing behind the counter. The other woman looked just as shocked.
"Emma." She said, stunned.
"You." Emma croaked back, not believing it. Henry looked between the two women, confused.
"Mom, who is she?" He asked. Emma took hold of his shoulder, steering him out the shop.
"Doesn't matter kid. Maybe you're right. Granny's ice cream is just as good…"
"No Emma please don't go!" The woman panicked, running out from behind the counter,
"Why?" Emma asked, the emotion clear in her voice. "You left me. I didn't even get an explanation. My social worker just picked me up from school and said I had to move. And now I find out you're here. It's not like I'm anonymous here. It would have been very easy to find me. Yet you still hid away!"
"Emma, it wasn't like that! I was getting too attached. I knew you'd have to come here one day to break the curse. If you were too attached to me you'd never come here. Never have a reason to. I had to let you go." Something suddenly clicked in Emma. This woman- her old foster mom. The first one she'd ever really felt at home with…wasn't from this world. Emma didn't end up with her by accident. She had planned it. And now that she was in Storybrooke she obviously wanted to get to Emma again.
"What do you want?" Emma snarled. "You're obviously following me for a reason. Spit it out Ingrid." Ingrid fell silent. Yes, she did want Emma back. But she couldn't tell her the whole reason. She had to take this gently. Break Emma apart from her family slowly.
"I just wanted to see you again." The Snow Queen lied. Emma scoffed.
"Why are you even trying to lie to me? You know I can see right through liars!-"
"Emma?" Someone interrupted them. Ingrid, Emma and Henry looked out the door to see Snow and Charming standing with baby Neal in his pram. Both parents had a look of concern on their face. "Is everything alright?"
"Fine." Emma lied, firmly steering Henry out of the shop and following behind him. "It doesn't matter…"
"Her old foster mom is here." Henry told them, ignoring the dirty look from his mom. Snow gasped in surprise and Charming nearly dropped his coffee.
"Foster mom?" He clarified. Henry nodded. Charming looked at Emma. "How? Only people from other realms can be here. People from Earth can't get here…"
"I'm not from Earth." The Snow Queen said calmly from the doorway. "I'm from Arendelle, like Elsa. Rumours of the Evil Queen's curse spread to our land. We didn't know exactly who would be affected so I decided to get out while I could." She lied. Emma was far too furious to notice this time. She couldn't even look at Ingrid right now. I ended up being one of Emma's foster mothers…"
"You abandoned me!" Emma yelled. "Without even a reason!" Snow and Charming looked at the strange woman.
"Is this true?" Snow asked, feeling rage building within her. Ingrid raised an eyebrow.
"Well yes. But I think you two can hardly judge me for abandoning her now can you?" Snow moved forward to show Ingrid exactly how she felt but Emma stopped her.
"Leave it." She said firmly. "She's not worth it. Come on…let's just go home."
"Emma-"
"No." Emma said, still not looking at Ingrid. She didn't even look at her parents as she marched past them with Henry. They looked from her back to Ingrid.
"This isn't over." Charming warned her. "We will get to the bottom of this. But you stay away from my daughter and grandson." He warned her. Ingrid just laughed. If only he knew.
"Whatever you say." She said, voice dripping with sarcasm. Following Emma's lead, Charming didn't give in to her. He took Snow's hand that wasn't holding onto the pram and turned with her and Neal to follow after Emma. It looked like things in Storybrooke were about to get even more complicated.
