Hair black as night

EvelRegal13 asked for a oneshot of Snowing finding out Emma dyes her hair. Far as I know Jennifer Morrison's real hair colour is blond so apologies if I'm wrong there and haven't given her the correct natural hair colour, but this just seemed the most logical for her to have other than blond!

"Emma we're…what on Earth is that smell?" Snow cut herself off, backing out the door slightly at the pungent odour. Charming too wrinkled his nose in disgust. Thankfully Neal was asleep and was blissfully unaware of the disgusting smell.

"Sorry!" Emma called from the direction of the bathroom. "It's just my hair dye!" Snow and Charming looked confused.

"Hair dye?" He called, as they braved the smell and went into the living room (leaving the front door open and Snow opening all the windows). "You mean your hair isn't naturally blond?" He asked, going to just outside the bathroom.

"No, see for yourself. Door's open." Charming careful pushed the door open and saw Emma with her head over the bath. He walked over and saw the small patch of her roots that wasn't yet covered.

"Black?" He asked, astonished, your hair is black?" Emma nodded, not seeing the big deal.

"Don't touch another hair!" Snow ordered from the living room. She quickly set Neal in his Moses basket and sprinted through. Emma chuckled.

"Alright…what's so amazing about my hair being black?"

"Well for one it was blond when we put you through the wardrobe." Emma raised an eyebrow.

"You remember that? Weren't you a little busy getting stabbed?" Charming gave a near identical chuckle.

"It was the first time I saw my daughter. I wasn't going to forget a single detail…especially that she had my hair." He grumbled. Now Emma understood. Black hair- like her mom's. Of course she'd worked that out when the curse broke. But she wasn't really comfortable enough at the time to bring it up. She never did like dying her hair in front of people, so it never occurred to her to mention to her parents her hair was exactly like Snow's from the book if left alone. Snow moved closer, a massive grin on her face.

"Not really." She said, almost gloating. "She has my hair." Emma gave her dad an almost apologetic look.

"But your eyes." She pointed out. Charming smiled back at her.

"Yeah, I suppose that's true. I can give up hair…you don't wear coloured contacts do you?" Charming asked, worried. Emma shook her head.

"Nope. They're really blue. Just the hair that's fake."

"Why don't you leave it?" Snow asked, a little huffily. "I think it's lovely the colour it is."

"I was too pale for black hair it made me look totally white like sn…oh no!"
