Chp 2. Pride Ring

When Kiryu had awoken he was greeted by a sight he had never seen before. A deep red sky with a pentagram on it. He rubbed his eyes to see if what he was seeing was real or if this was all just a dream.

"I….I….", he stuttered as he looked around at his surroundings. Sinners and hellborns walked across his sight giving him a few weird stares. Kiryu backed up afraid of what he was seeing and got off the ground in a rush and ran through the Pride Ring lost and confused. He occasionally pumped into a few sinners and hellebores along the way.

"Watch where you're going asshole!", a sinner exclaimed.

"What the hell was that?!", a succubus shouted.

"What the?", a possum-like imp said right before Kiryu accidentally knocked him to the floor. As Kiryu ran aimlessly he caught the sight of an empty ally and made a b line for it. He quickly turned into the ally to catch his breath and sat on the rough ground. He laid his head back on the building wall and closed his eyes trying to recollect his thoughts. He had opened them briefly and caught sight of a small puddle of water and crawled toward it to get a look at himself. Kiryu jumped back at the sight of his new hellish body. He crawled back to the puddle and sat on his knees as he looked at himself once more. Burned charred red skin, charcoal-like hair, bright yellow eyes with black pupils, monstrous black dorsal plates sticking out of his back, and a long charred black tail with other more dorsal plates. His mouth was now filled with razor-sharp yellow teeth. Even his hands took on a new demonic appearance as he now had sharp yellow claws. As for his clothes, they almost remained the same minus the more rips and tears and bits of charred skin now sticking out from him, including the dorsal plates and tail, Kiryu now knew for certain that this wasn't a dream that his human life was over, and his life as a sinner of hell has just begun.

"Shit….I'm actually in hell…" Kiryu said in disbelief.

"How…I lived a good life….I only killed just him…he deserved it dammit…I…avenged her…and this is the thanks I get?" Kiryu said as he clenched his fist, tears starting to form in his eyes, the same rage that had overtaken him and made him kill his father was starting to return until that same possum-like imp appeared in the front of the alleyway.

"Excuse me..sir are you okay? He said with a genuine sound in his voice. As Kiryu looked back to see the same possum-like imp he pumed into before. Suddenly the iimp jumped back a bit startled by Kiryu's yellow eyes and dorsal plates showing despite the alley's darkness.

"Get away from me!" Kiryu exclaimed frightened by the imp's bright yellow eyes and horns. In a rush, Kiryu got off the ground and booked it out of the alleyway trying to get away from the imp.

"Hey wait!", the imp yelled out, "I'm just trying to help you!", the imp tried to follow Kiryu occasionally bumping into a few hellborns and tripping over the occasional piece of junk on the ground.

"I just..', the imp shouted breathing heavily, "wanna make sure…how in heaven are you so fast!?", the imp yelled out starting to lose sight of Kiryu until Kiryu accidentally fell into a battlezone in the Pride RIng.

"Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit!" Kiryu exclaimed as he fell onto a pile of rubble. He shook his head and slowly got off the rubble.

"Damn..," he muttered rubbing his tail, "that hurt like hell-", he was about to say until an imp lunged at Kiryu with a knife aimed right at his neck. Kiryu tried to block the knife as he did so his rough skin had blocked most of it leaving him with only a minor slash mark on his neck.

"What the hell! You could have killed me!", Kiryu exclaimed as that same rage had started to boil deep within him once more.

"That's the point jackass!" the imp bellowed out. As soon as he said that another imp launched at him this time though Kiryu was prepared as with his tail he swiped him away like a fly.

"Where the hell…did he go?" The possum-like imp questioned until he looked down at the bloody battlefield and saw Kiryu. Just as he said that a Baphomet with what looked like an assault rifle began to rain down bullets onto Kiryu and the bloodthirsty imp. Kiryu had tried to run away but he wasn't very successful as some of the bullets hit him in his thighs and right arm. Kiryu had fallen to the ground in agony at the pain he was experiencing as the hot metal dug into his flesh.

"Crumbs! If he doesn't do anything he'll get torn to shreds in there!", The possum-like imp yelled out as he tried to get down onto the battlefield as quickly as possible without being seen. As he did so Kiryu clenched his teeth in pain as he began to feel that rage start to rise quickly within him again. Until suddenly he felt a knife plunge straight into his left arm. The same killer imp had returned this time looking to complete what he had started before with a manic grin across his face he continued to stab Kiryu's arm. Kiryu began to let that rage flow through him once more as the pupils in his eyes disappeared. and with a low growl, he started to rise off the ground.

"Now this is gonna be fun!" The imp had exclaimed as he dug his knife into Kiryu once more just as Kiryu had grabbed the imp's neck and stared daggers into his eyes right before crushing his neck. The imp splurged some blood from his mouth, some of it landing on Kiryu's arm, Kiryu dropped the imp's lifeless body on the ground and let out a monstrous roar. The roar had gotten the attention of everyone on the battlefield including the same possum-like imp from before. With all their eyes trained on Kiryu, they all rushed at him, seeing as he's the biggest target as of right now, they rained down loads of bullets onto Kiryu many of them making their mark on various areas of his body from his legs, chest, arms, etc. In Kiryu's rage, their attacks had seemed to do nothing to Kiryu except only anger him more.

"Skreeongk!" Kiryu had let out another mighty roar as he charged at them all. He slashed at those closest to him with his claws leaving them bloody with some having their organs spill out killing them instantly. Those in the air weren't so safe either as he threw the lifeless bodies of those he had just killed at the baphomets. Many dogged out of the way but some had gotten hit and had fallen onto eh ground. He lunged at those falling and ripped off their wings he continued this process until there was none left in the air.

"Holy shit! He's acting like an animal", an imp yelled.

"More like a monstrous!" another yelled out.

"That's saying some in hell of all pla-" another was just about to speak right before Kiryu had slashed at their neck with the dorsal plates on his tail. They all knew that they were powerless against Kiryu's rage and had begun to flee. Just as they did that a bright blue light was starting to creep all through Kiryu's dorsal plates and coming to his mouth. Just as the blue light had reached his mouth Kiryu fired off a bright blue beam of unknown energy at those fleeing. They all screamed in terror as the beam cooked them alive burning them until all that was left was ash.

"What's with this guy? Hell's hasn't seen someone with much destructive power for years…", The possum-like imp muttered as he hid behind some rubble watching Kiryu massacr those on the battlefield. Kiryu continued to fire his beam it even hit a few of the nearby buildings until he had aimed it at the sky. The beam had burned bright enough for anyone in the Pride Ring to see. The beam slowly began to flicker until Kiryu had stopped it and closed his mouth. Kiryu looked around the battlefield making sure anyone was still alive like an animal looking for its prey. Kiryu had let out another mighty roar this time not for pain but for victory. As he did so the pupils in his eyes had returned; he fell to the ground on his knees exhausted. He looked down at the ground aimlessly until the same possum-like imp started to approach Kiryu.

"You..alright there?", the imp had spoken softly trying not to anger Kiryu after what he had just seen.

"If you're gonna kill me..then do it already…", Kiryu had said with a tired tone in his voice

"I'm not gonna kill you- wait sniff you smell like the human world did you just die?" The possum-like imp had asked.

"Yeah…how…do you know that?", Kiryu spoke confused.

"That's another story first let's get you out here.", the imp went to Kiryu and tried to help him up. He had successfully helped him up right then was he finally able to get a good look at Kiryu.

"Oh crumbs..", the imp said a bit taken aback at Kiryu especially his height as he towered over him.

"Thanks…whoever you are", he had said right before getting cut off by the imp," It's Moxxie", the imp said with a slight smile on his face.

"Well Moxxie.. I'm Kiryu", he said right before wincing in pain.

"Woah best you take it slow there Kiryu you may be a sinner but it'll take a bit for you to completely heal.", the Moxxie said trying to help Kiryu stand up properly.

"Follow me I've got some medical supplies back at I.M.P HQ.", he said right before leading Kiryu off the battlefield and onto a sidewalk as they headed towards I.M.P HQ. After a bit of silence, Moxxie asked Kiryu a question to help pass the time.

"So…Kiryu….how did you die to make you end up looking like..this?" Moxxie had asked.

"I think…it was probably due to an atomic bomb or something", Kiryu said softly.

"An atomic bomb? Wow, that must have hurt," Moxxie said, "Then what exactly made you go to hell to begin with?", Moxie asked waiting for Kiryu's response.

"Probably due to me killing my father", Kiryu said as clenched his fist a bit of that anger starting to boil within him again. Moxie saw Kiryu start to get angry again and tried to defuse the situation.

"Sorry if I pushed your buttons……I didn't mean to make you mad there.", Moxie spoke with a bit of fear in his voice this time

"It's…ugh..whatever" Kiryu rolled his eyes until Moxie had stopped right in front of him.

"We're finally here not just follow me inside Kiryu.", Moxie gestured with his hand for Kiryu to follow him inside so Kiryu did just that. Kiryu was a bit taken aback by the building's interior. After a minute or two they finally made it to the reception area of I.M.P. Loona was sitting on her chair doing something with her phone until she looked up to see Moxxie and Kiryu.

"What…in.. The actual fuck…did you just bring in here Moxxie!', Lonna yelled out causing both Mille and Blitzo to come out from the meeting room to see what all the commotion was about.

"Loona what's with all the…Moxxie get away from that thing!", Millie grabbed Moxxie and placed him behind her as she drew her axe aimed right at Kiryu.

"Loonie, what's with all the….IN THE NAME OF LUCIFER WHAT THE FUCKING SHIT IS THAT!?," Blitz yelled out as he drew his gun and aimed it at Kiryu's head.

"Everyone calm down! It's just Kiryu-" Moxxie was about to say before getting cut off by Blitzo

"Mox you named the fucking thing!?", Blitz yelled out.

"I'm not gonna harm any of you I'm just here to have Moxxie fix me up and I'll be gone so please put your weapons down.", Kiryu said as he put his hands in front of him trying to seem less threatening.

"This true Moxxie?" Millie said looking back at Moxxie.

"Yes, it is", Moxie said as he walked to Kiryu and got in front of him, "You see Kiryu is a sinner who just got to hell I saw him running through the Pride RIng. Then he bumped into me so I wanted to see if he was okay. Then once I caught up to him in an alleyway he ran again until he fell into a battlezone, killed lots of those inside the battlezone, then I came to help him and now here we are.", Moxie said a bit out of breath.

"Well way to go for you hun," Millie said with a slight smile on her face

"Guess that explains why he smells like the human realm.", Lonna said with a slight disgust on her face.

"Wait you said he killed everyone in that battlezone? As a new sinner too?", Blitzo said as he walked towards Moxxie and Kiryu.

"Yeah, boss why do you ask?" Moxie said with a confused look on his face.

"Since you're new in hell Kiryu how about you work for me I.M.P could use someone with your…abilities.", Blitzo said as he looked Kiryu up and down

"Wait…what does I.M.P exactly do?" Kiryu said looking down at Blitzo with a confused look on his face.

"We mainly an assassination business that gets contracts to kill humans in the human realm, but due to you being a sinner you can't leave the Pride Ring so you'll mainly just be here acting like a…..a…bodyguard of sorts…yeah a bodyguard!", Blitzo said a bit proud of himself for think of that on the spot.

"Sir are you sure that's the best option he just arrived in hell, plus we don't even have any other information on him other than his name and what I can tell you what I saw back on that battlefield.", Moxie said confused by Blitzo sudden job offer.

"Hmmmm how old are you Kiryu?" Blizto said as he looked up to Kiryu.

"19.", Kiryu said as he looked down at Blitzo.

"That'll do Kiryu welcome to I.M.P I' Blitzo the O is silent that over there with the axe is Millie, and over by the desk is Loona my daughter", Blitz said with a proud look on his face

"Not you're daughter you know", Loona said with an annoyed look on her face as she scrolled through her phone.

"Well if you're a friend of Moxxie then you're a friend of mine," Millie said as she grabbed Kiryu's hand and shook it.

"Boss this can't possibly be the best-," Moxie was about to say before Blitz pulled him close, "Mox.. he just arrived in hell and has major destructive power I'm sure lots saw it and are eager to hire him to catch my train of thought here Mox?", Moxie looked down then looked back at Blitz," Yes.. I think I do sir," Moxie said with a slight smile on his face," Good Mox that's why I pay you the big bucks", Blitz patted Moxxie on the head before going back to Kiryu.

"But you don't sir", Moxie said with an upset look on his face this time as he returned to Kiryu as well.

"Whatever Mox," Blitz said ignoring Moxxie," Now Kiryu let's get you situated first and you'll start your first day on the job tomorrow how does that sound?' Blitz said as he went to shake Kiryu's hand.

"I…guess that's alright with me sit" Kiryu shook Blitz's hand, sealing the deal.

With that Chp 2. is now over! Now that the Helluva Boss crew has met Kiryu want sort of adventures, will he and then get caught up in? Will Blitz's decision to hire him be good in the long run?
