When we think we're alone

A guest asked for a oneshot Emma thinking she is alone so singing quite loudly. Shen then gets embarrassed when she gets caught. The song Emma was listening to had nothing to do with what I had put onto YouTube before writing this request…

"All I want is something new! Something I can hold on to! I don't wanna talk, I just wanna dance! Baby let it drop, catch me if you can! We're the leaders of the pack!" Snow and Charming held back their sniggers just barely as they watched their daughter quite merrily doing the dusting with her music blaring out of the laptop and Emma was singing along at the top of her voice. When the song finished Charming and Snow silently agreed it would be cruel not to reveal themselves. They both began to clap and whoop from the doorway.

"Encore!" Charming called out. Emma could feel the heat climbing up her face as she turned around and saw them both standing there, giant grins on their face.

"How long have you been standing there?" She grumbled.

"Long enough." Snow told her. "You've not got a bad voice."

"Uh huh sure."

"Um, Emma? Have you looked out the window sweetheart?" Charming told her. Emma looked outside and nearly collapsed. It seemed every bird in Storybrooke had crammed around their window sill. "It seems you got your mother's talent for communicating with birds…and your father's voice of course." Snow nudged him playfully in the ribs.

Great. Emma thought to herself. The whole population of Storybrooke probably heard me. She put down the duster and did her best to hold her head high.

"Well I'm about done here. I'm going to go upstairs and…get my things ready for tomorrow." She mumbled, walking out. When Snow and Charming heard her door click behind her upstairs they looked at each other and couldn't help their laughter bursting out.

"When will you guys learn that I can still hear you from up here?" Emma called down. Again, they tried to stifle their laughter. For all their daughter was an adult, she wasn't half like a moody teenager sometimes.
