Beware of the biter
A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma getting overprotective of a toddler Neal in a park.
Emma watched her little brother like a hawk as he tottered about the smaller area of the play park. She wanted to give her parents a break from their little three year old whirlwind, no matter how reluctant their mom was about letting him wonder too far from her sight. They needed the break, and Emma could see that. She had only just persuaded them to let her take him to the park that was five minutes from the house for a couple of hours, and she was determined that nothing would go wrong. Otherwise she'd never be allowed out with him again. They were by themselves for just over an hour. Then Aurora came with little Philip.
"Hey Emma." The princess greeted her, placing Philip in the little play area beside Neal. "Look Philip! Neal's here to play with you, isn't that nice?" Emma wasn't so sure. Philip was a nice kid, but a bit of a biter. The last thing she needed was taking Neal home looking like someone had tried to eat him. Emma gave a polite smile to Aurora before putting her attention back to her brother. Aurora understood. She too knew Snow was quite protective of her son, and Emma being allowed out alone with him was quite a big deal. "You play nice today Philip. We keep our hands, feet and teeth to ourselves, don't we?" Aurora gently reminded him.
"Yes mama." Philip answered, tottering off to play with Neal. Whenever Philip seemed to be getting a little upset or if Neal's arm came too close to Philip's mouth Emma tensed right up. She wasn't really listening to the story Aurora was telling her. Just politely nodding at intervals. The tension was too much for Emma to take. After about fifteen minutes she looked at her watch.
"Oh would you look at the time. Neal, daddy will be home soon and he'll want to take you to the stables to see Smudge." Neal clapped his hands excitedly and waved goodbye to Philip before allowing Emma to pick him up. It wasn't a complete lie. Their dad would want to take them both to the stables tonight (after getting Neal into horse riding their parents insisted Emma got one too and Charming was keen to teach her). He just wouldn't be home for a few hours. "We'll catch you guys later." Emma called over as she strapped Neal us in his car seat. She would take him for ice cream at Granny's to kill some more time before taking him home. Puncture mark free.
